2020-07-31ASoC: rt5670: Correct RT5670_LDO_SEL_MASKHans de Goede1-1/+1
commit 5cacc6f5764e94fa753b2c1f5f7f1f3f74286e82 upstream. The RT5670_PWR_ANLG1 register has 3 bits to select the LDO voltage, so the correct mask is 0x7 not 0x3. Because of this wrong mask we were programming the ldo bits to a setting of binary 001 (0x05 & 0x03) instead of binary 101 when moving to SND_SOC_BIAS_PREPARE. According to the datasheet 001 is a reserved value, so no idea what it did, since the driver was working fine before I guess we got lucky and it does something which is ok. 2020-06-30ASoC: fsl_asrc_dma: Fix dma_chan leak when config DMA channel failedXiyu Yang1-0/+1
[ Upstream commit 36124fb19f1ae68a500cd76a76d40c6e81bee346 ] fsl_asrc_dma_hw_params() invokes dma_request_channel() or fsl_asrc_get_dma_channel(), which returns a reference of the specified dma_chan object to "pair->dma_chan[dir]" with increased refcnt. The reference counting issue happens in one exception handling path of fsl_asrc_dma_hw_params(). When config DMA channel failed for Back-End, the function forgets to decrease the refcnt increased by dma_request_channel() or fsl_asrc_get_dma_channel(), causing a refcnt leak. Fix this issue by calling dma_release_channel() when config DMA channel failed. 2020-05-10ASoC: sgtl5000: Fix VAG power-on handlingSebastian Reichel2-0/+35
[ Upstream commit aa7812737f2877e192d57626cbe8825cc7cf6de9 ] As mentioned slightly out of patch context in the code, there is no reset routine for the chip. On boards where the chip is supplied by a fixed regulator, it might not even be resetted during (e.g. watchdog) reboot and can be in any state. If the device is probed with VAG enabled, the driver's probe routine will generate a loud pop sound when ANA_POWER is being programmed. Avoid this by properly disabling just the VAG bit and waiting the required power down time. commit ebf1474745b4373fdde0fcf32d9d1f369b50b212 upstream. snd_soc_dapm_kcontrol widget which is created by autodisable control should contain correct on_val, mask and shift because it is set when the widget is powered and changed value is applied on registers by following code in dapm_seq_run_coalesced(). mask |= w->mask << w->shift; if (w->power) value |= w->on_val << w->shift; else value |= w->off_val << w->shift; Shift on the mask in dapm_kcontrol_data_alloc() is removed to prevent double shift. And, on_val in dapm_kcontrol_set_value() is modified to get correct value in the dapm_seq_run_coalesced(). In dpcm_be_dai_trigger(), however, only pause_release is allowed command after pause_push. So, start or stop after pause in compress offload is always returned as error if the compress offload is used with dpcm. To fix the problem, SND_SOC_DPCM_STATE_PAUSED should be allowed for start or stop command. This is to ensure that the default mixer choice will be correctly powered up during initialization. Invert flag is used to select initial state of the virtual switch. Since actual hardware can't be disconnected by virtual switch, connected is better choice as initial state in many cases. 2020-03-11ASoC: dapm: Correct DAPM handling of active widgets during shutdownCharles Keepax1-1/+1
commit 9b3193089e77d3b59b045146ff1c770dd899acb1 upstream. commit c2caa4da46a4 ("ASoC: Fix widget powerdown on shutdown") added a set of the power state during snd_soc_dapm_shutdown to ensure the widgets powered off. However, when commit 39eb5fd13dff ("ASoC: dapm: Delay w->power update until the changes are written") added the new_power member of the widget structure, to differentiate between the current power state and the target power state, it did not update the shutdown to use the new_power member. As new_power has not updated it will be left in the state set by the last DAPM sequence, ie. 1 for active widgets. So as the DAPM sequence for the shutdown proceeds it will turn the widgets on (despite them already being on) rather than turning them off. The usage of snprintf() is supposed for avoiding the buffer overflow, but it doesn't work as expected because snprintf() doesn't return the actual output size but the size to be written. Fix this bug by replacing all snprintf() calls with scnprintf() calls. 2020-02-15ASoC: pcm: update FE/BE trigger order based on the commandRanjani Sridharan1-27/+68
[ Upstream commit acbf27746ecfa96b290b54cc7f05273482ea128a ] Currently, the trigger orders SND_SOC_DPCM_TRIGGER_PRE/POST determine the order in which FE DAI and BE DAI are triggered. In the case of SND_SOC_DPCM_TRIGGER_PRE, the FE DAI is triggered before the BE DAI and in the case of SND_SOC_DPCM_TRIGGER_POST, the BE DAI is triggered before the FE DAI. And this order remains the same irrespective of the trigger command. In the case of the SOF driver, during playback, the FW expects the BE DAI to be triggered before the FE DAI during the START trigger. The BE DAI trigger handles the starting of Link DMA and so it must be started before the FE DAI is started to prevent xruns during pause/release. This can be addressed by setting the trigger order for the FE dai link to SND_SOC_DPCM_TRIGGER_POST. But during the STOP trigger, the FW expects the FE DAI to be triggered before the BE DAI. Retaining the same order during the START and STOP commands, results in FW error as the DAI component in the FW is still active. The issue can be fixed by mirroring the trigger order of FE and BE DAI's during the START and STOP trigger. So, with the trigger order set to SND_SOC_DPCM_TRIGGER_PRE, the FE DAI will be trigger first during SNDRV_PCM_TRIGGER_START/STOP/RESUME and the BE DAI will be triggered first during the STOP/SUSPEND/PAUSE commands. Conversely, with the trigger order set to SND_SOC_DPCM_TRIGGER_POST, the BE DAI will be triggered first during the SNDRV_PCM_TRIGGER_START/STOP/RESUME commands and the FE DAI will be triggered first during the SNDRV_PCM_TRIGGER_STOP/SUSPEND/PAUSE commands. [ Upstream commit eabf424f7b60246c76dcb0ea6f1e83ef9abbeaa6 ] The codec dies when RT5677_PWR_ANLG2(MX-64h) is set to 0xACE1 while it's streaming audio over SPI. The DSP firmware turns on PLL2 (MX-64 bit 8) when SPI streaming starts. However regmap does not believe that register can change by itself. When BST1 (bit 15) is turned on with regmap_update_bits(), it doesn't read the register first before write, so PLL2 power bit is cleared by accident. Marking MX-64h as volatile in regmap solved the issue. [ Upstream commit e33ffbd9cd39da09831ce62c11025d830bf78d9e ] If the CPU DAI does not initialise rate_max, say if using using KNOT or CONTINUOUS, then the rate_max field will be initialised to 0. A value of zero in the rate_max field of the hardware runtime will cause the sound card to support no sample rates at all. Obviously this is not desired, just a different mechanism is being used to apply the constraints. As such update the setting of rate_max in dpcm_init_runtime_hw to be consistent with the non-DPCM cases and set rate_max to UINT_MAX if nothing is defined on the CPU DAI. Unlike other format-related DAI parameters, rdai->bit_clk_inv flag is not properly re-initialized when setting format for new stream processing. This patch fixes as minimum one bug: if customer muxes Headphone to Line-In right after boot, the VAG power remains off that leads to poor sound quality from line-in. I.e. after boot: - Connect sound source to Line-In jack; - Connect headphone to HP jack; - Run following commands: $ amixer set 'Headphone' 80% $ amixer set 'Headphone Mux' LINE_IN Change VAG power on/off control according to the following algorithm: - turn VAG power ON on the 1st incoming event. - keep it ON if there is any active VAG consumer (ADC/DAC/HP/Line-In). - turn VAG power OFF when there is the latest consumer's pre-down event come. - always delay after VAG power OFF to avoid pop. - delay after VAG power ON if the initiative consumer is Line-In, this prevents pop during line-in muxing. According to the data sheet [1], to avoid any pops/clicks, the outputs should be muted during input/output routing changes. Applying slot_width constraint to sample_bits works most of the time, but it will blacklist valid formats in some cases. With slot_width 24 we can support S24_3LE and S24_LE formats as they both look the same on the bus, but a a 24 constraint on sample_bits would not allow S24_LE as it is stored in 32bits in memory. Implement a simple hw_rule function to allow all formats which require less or equal number of bits on the bus as slot_width (if configured). 2019-09-06ASoC: dapm: Fix handling of custom_stop_condition on DAPM graph walksCharles Keepax1-4/+4
[ Upstream commit 8dd26dff00c0636b1d8621acaeef3f6f3a39dd77 ] DPCM uses snd_soc_dapm_dai_get_connected_widgets to build a list of the widgets connected to a specific front end DAI so it can search through this list for available back end DAIs. The custom_stop_condition was added to is_connected_ep to facilitate this list not containing more widgets than is necessary. Doing so both speeds up the DPCM handling as less widgets need to be searched and avoids issues with CODEC to CODEC links as these would be confused with back end DAIs if they appeared in the list of available widgets. custom_stop_condition was implemented by aborting the graph walk when the condition is triggered, however there is an issue with this approach. Whilst walking the graph is_connected_ep should update the endpoints cache on each widget, if the walk is aborted the number of attached end points is unknown for that sub-graph. When the stop condition triggered, the original patch ignored the triggering widget and returned zero connected end points; a later patch updated this to set the triggering widget's cache to 1 and return that. Both of these approaches result in inaccurate values being stored in various end point caches as the values propagate back through the graph, which can result in later issues with widgets powering/not powering unexpectedly. As the original goal was to reduce the size of the widget list passed to the DPCM code, the simplest solution is to limit the functionality of the custom_stop_condition to the widget list. This means the rest of the graph will still be processed resulting in correct end point caches, but only widgets up to the stop condition will be added to the returned widget list.
