2023-10-30ASoC: rt712-sdca: fix speaker route missing issueShuming Fan1-7/+7
Sometimes the codec probe would be called earlier than the hardware initialization. Therefore, the speaker route should be added before the the first_hw_init check. 2023-10-27ASoC: codecs: wsa883x: make use of new mute_unmute_on_trigger flagSrinivas Kandagatla1-6/+1
In the current setup the PA is left unmuted even when the Soundwire ports are not started streaming. This can lead to click and pop sounds during start. There is a same issue in the reverse order where in the PA is left unmute even after the data stream is stopped, the time between data stream stopping and port closing is long enough to accumulate DC on the line resulting in Click/Pop noise during end of stream. making use of new mute_unmute_on_trigger flag is helping a lot with this Click/Pop issues reported on this Codec Signed-off-by: Srinivas Kandagatla <srinivas.kandagatla@linaro.org> Tested-by: Johan Hovold <johan+linaro@kernel.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20231027105747.32450-3-srinivas.kandagatla@linaro.org Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>
2023-10-27ASoC: codecs: aw88399: fix typo in Kconfig selectArnd Bergmann1-1/+1
The aw88395_lib module is shared by all the aw883* drivers that need to select the corresponding Kconfig symbol. The newly added aw88399 incorrectly selects SND_SOC_AW88399_LIB instead, which is not defined anywhere in the kernel, causing a link failure when the actual one is missing: arm-linux-gnueabi-ld: sound/soc/codecs/aw88399.o: in function `aw88399_codec_probe': aw88399.c:(.text+0xbc6): undefined reference to `aw88395_dev_load_acf_check' arm-linux-gnueabi-ld: aw88399.c:(.text+0xbea): undefined reference to `aw88395_dev_cfg_load' Fixes: 8ade6cc7e261 ("ASoC: codecs: Add aw88399 amplifier driver") Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20231027152403.386257-2-arnd@kernel.org Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>

2023-10-26ASoC: cs35l41: Detect CSPL errors when sending CSPL commandsStefan Binding1-0/+5
The existing code checks for the correct state transition after sending a command. However, it is possible for the message box to return -1, which indicates an error, if an error has occurred in the firmware. We can detect if the error has occurred, and return a different error. In addition, there is no recovering from a CSPL error, so the retry mechanism is not needed in this case, and we can return immediately. 2023-10-26ALSA: hda: cs35l41: Force a software reset after hardware resetStefan Binding1-0/+1
To ensure the chip has correctly reset during probe and system suspend, we need to force a software reset, in case of systems where the hardware reset is not available. The software reset register was labelled as volatile but not readable, however, it is readable, (just returns 0x0). Adding it to readable registers means it will be correctly treated as volatile, and thus will not be cached. The wcd938x_bind() and wcd938x_codec_set_sdw_stream() rely on this order. wcd938x->sdw_priv array is indexed by enum with AIF1_PB and AIF1_CAP, so use the same defines instead of raw numners for snd_soc_dai_driver array. 2023-10-23ASoC: es8328: Use rounded rate for es8328_set_sysclk()Chris Morgan1-1/+8
I have a board (RK3588 based) that sets the sysclk to 12287999. The es8328 driver fails to match this to the 12288000 rate and fails to load. 2023-10-23ASoC: cs42l43: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidUwe Kleine-König1-4/+2
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new(), which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers are converted, .remove_new() will be renamed to .remove(). Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant. In SoundWire mode a custom firmware can use ASP1 as a secondary chip-to-chip audio link or as GPIO. It should be defaulted to high-impedance since by default the purpose of this pin is not known. Merge series from Johan Hovold <johan+linaro@kernel.org>: The wcd938x codec driver happily ignores error handling, something which has bitten us in the past when we hit a probe deferral: https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/20230705123018.30903-1-johan+linaro@kernel.org/ Fix up the remaining probe and component bind paths that left resources allocated and registered after errors to avoid similar future issues.
2023-10-09ASoC: codecs: wsa-macro: fix uninitialized stack variables with name prefixKrzysztof Kozlowski1-0/+3
Driver compares widget name in wsa_macro_spk_boost_event() widget event callback, however it does not handle component's name prefix. This leads to using uninitialized stack variables as registers and register values. Handle gracefully such case. 2023-10-09ASoC: da7218: Use i2c_get_match_data()Rob Herring2-28/+3
Use preferred i2c_get_match_data() instead of of_match_device() and i2c_match_id() to get the driver match data. With this, adjust the includes to explicitly include the correct headers. Avoid using 0 for enum da7218_dev_id so that no match data can be distinguished. 2023-10-09ASoC: Drop unnecessary of_match_device() callsRob Herring3-26/+9
If probe is reached, we've already matched the device and in the case of DT matching, the struct device_node pointer will be set. Therefore, there is no need to call of_match_device() in probe. 2023-10-09ASoC: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring56-67/+45
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it was merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes.
