2022-04-08ASoC: madera: Add dependencies on MFDCharles Keepax1-0/+5
[ Upstream commit ec29170c724ca30305fc3a19ba2ee73ecac65509 ] The Madera CODECs use regmap_irq functions but nothing ensures that regmap_irq is built into the kernel. Add dependencies on the ASoC symbols for the relevant MFD component. There is no point in building the ASoC driver if the MFD doesn't support it and the MFD part contains the necessary dependencies to ensure everything is built into the kernel. One or both of those has to be renamed or they need to be merged into one thing." Fix the duplicated control name by combining the two SPDIF controls here and move the register bits onto the DAPM widget and have DAPM control them. 2022-03-08ASoC: rt5682: do not block workqueue if card is unboundKai Vehmanen1-5/+7
[ Upstream commit 4c33de0673ced9c7c37b3bbd9bfe0fda72340b2a ] The current rt5682_jack_detect_handler() assumes the component and card will always show up and implements an infinite usleep loop waiting for them to show up. This does not hold true if a codec interrupt (or other event) occurs when the card is unbound. The codec driver's remove or shutdown functions cannot cancel the workqueue due to the wait loop. As a result, code can either end up blocking the workqueue, or hit a kernel oops when the card is freed. Fix the issue by rescheduling the jack detect handler in case the card is not ready. In case card never shows up, the shutdown/remove/suspend calls can now cancel the detect task. 2022-02-08ASoC: cpcap: Check for NULL pointer after calling of_get_child_by_nameJiasheng Jiang1-0/+2

2021-12-14ASoC: codecs: wcd934x: handle channel mappping list correctlySrinivas Kandagatla1-31/+88

Currently each channel is added as list to dai channel list, however there is danger of adding same channel to multiple dai channel list which endups corrupting the other list where its already added. This patch ensures that the channel is actually free before adding to the dai channel list and also ensures that the channel is on the list before deleting it. This check was missing previously, and we did not hit this issue as we were testing very simple usecases with sequence of amixer commands. 2021-11-18ASoC: cs42l42: Correct configuring of switch inversion from ts-invRichard Fitzgerald1-5/+4
[ Upstream commit 778a0cbef5fb76bf506f84938517bb77e7a1c478 ] The setting from the cirrus,ts-inv property should be applied to the TIP_SENSE_INV bit, as this is the one that actually affects the jack detect block. The TS_INV bit only swaps the meaning of the PLUG and UNPLUG interrupts and should always be 1 for the interrupts to have the normal meaning. Due to some misunderstanding the driver had been implemented to configure the TS_INV bit based on the jack switch polarity. This made the interrupts behave the correct way around, but left the jack detect block, button detect and analogue circuits always interpreting an open switch as unplugged. The signal chain inside the codec is: SENSE pin -> TIP_SENSE_INV -> TS_INV -> (invert) -> interrupts | v Jack detect, button detect and analog control As the TIP_SENSE_INV already performs the necessary inversion the TS_INV bit never needs to change. It must always be 1 to yield the expected interrupt behaviour. Some extra confusion has arisen because of the additional invert in the interrupt path, meaning that a value applied to the TS_INV bit produces the opposite effect of applying it to the TIP_SENSE_INV bit. The ts-inv property has therefore always had the opposite effect to what might be expected (0 = inverted, 1 = not inverted). To maintain the meaning of the ts-inv property it must be inverted when applied to TIP_SENSE_INV. Compared with master mode, the difference is the DACDIV setting, after correcting the DACDIV, the noise is gone. There is no noise issue for 48kHz sample rate, because the default value of DACDIV is correct for 48kHz. So wm8960_configure_clocking() should be functional for ADC and DAC function even if it is slave mode. In order to be compatible for old use case, just add condition for checking that sysclk is zero with slave mode. The irqs are requested in 'wcd9335_setup_irqs()' using a resource managed function (i.e. 'devm_request_threaded_irq()'). 'wcd9335_setup_irqs()' requests all what is defined in the 'wcd9335_irqs' structure. This structure has only one entry for 'WCD9335_IRQ_SLIMBUS'. So 'devm_request...irq()' + explicit 'free_irq()' would lead to a double free. Remove the unneeded 'free_irq()' from the remove function. 2021-08-18ASoC: cs42l42: Remove duplicate control for WNF filter frequencyRichard Fitzgerald1-10/+0
[ Upstream commit 8b353bbeae20e2214c9d9d88bcb2fda4ba145d83 ] The driver was defining two ALSA controls that both change the same register field for the wind noise filter corner frequency. The filter response has two corners, at different frequencies, and the duplicate controls most likely were an attempt to be able to set the value using either of the frequencies. However, having two controls changing the same field can be problematic and it is unnecessary. Both frequencies are related to each other so setting one implies exactly what the other would be. Removing a control affects user-side code, but there is currently no known use of the removed control so it would be best to remove it now before it becomes a problem. 2021-08-18ASoC: tlv320aic31xx: Fix jack detection after suspendMark Brown1-0/+10

The tlv320aic31xx driver relies on regcache_sync() to restore the register contents after going to _BIAS_OFF, for example during system suspend. This does not work for the jack detection configuration since that is configured via the same register that status is read back from so the register is volatile and not cached. This can also cause issues during init if the jack detection ends up getting set up before the CODEC is initially brought out of _BIAS_OFF, we will reset the CODEC and resync the cache as part of that process. Fix this by explicitly reapplying the jack detection configuration after resyncing the register cache during power on. This issue was found by an engineer working off-list on a product kernel, I just wrote up the upstream fix. This is required to avoid timeouts that will happen with 'ghost' devices that are exposed in the platform firmware but are not populated in hardware. Unfortunately we used 'hw_init' instead of 'first_hw_init'. Due to another error, the resume operation never timed out, but the volume settings were not properly restored.
