2023-10-10ALSA: hda: Disable power save for solving pop issue on Lenovo ThinkCentre M70qKailang Yang1-0/+1
commit 057a28ef93bdbe84326d34cdb5543afdaab49fe1 upstream. Lenovo ThinkCentre M70q had boot up pop noise. Disable power save will solve pop issue. 2023-09-19ALSA: ac97: Fix possible error value of *rac97Su Hui1-3/+2
[ Upstream commit 67de40c9df94037769967ba28c7d951afb45b7fb ] Before committing 79597c8bf64c, *rac97 always be NULL if there is an error. When error happens, make sure *rac97 is NULL is safer. For examble, in snd_vortex_mixer(): err = snd_ac97_mixer(pbus, &ac97, &vortex->codec); vortex->isquad = ((vortex->codec == NULL) ? 0 : (vortex->codec->ext_id&0x80)); If error happened but vortex->codec isn't NULL, this may cause some problems. Move the judgement order to be clearer and better. 2023-08-26ALSA: hda/realtek - Remodified 3k pull low procedureKailang Yang1-2/+5
[ Upstream commit 46cdff2369cbdf8d78081a22526e77bd1323f563 ] Set spec->en_3kpull_low default to true. Then fillback ALC236 and ALC257 to false. Additional note: this addresses a regression caused by the previous fix 69ea4c9d02b7 ("ALSA: hda/realtek - remove 3k pull low procedure"). The previous workaround was applied too widely without necessity, which resulted in the pop noise at PM again. This patch corrects the condition and restores the old behavior for the devices that don't suffer from the original problem. commit 69ea4c9d02b7947cdd612335a61cc1a02e544ccd upstream. This was the ALC283 depop procedure. Maybe this procedure wasn't suitable with new codec. So, let us remove it. But HP 15z-fc000 must do 3k pull low. If it reboot with plugged headset, it will have errors show don't find codec error messages. Run 3k pull low will solve issues. 2023-06-09ALSA: hda: Glenfly: add HD Audio PCI IDs and HDMI Codec Vendor IDs.jasontao2-0/+43
[ Upstream commit c51e431052e2eacfb23fbf6b39bc6c8770d9827a ] Add a set of HD Audio PCI IDS, and the HDMI codec vendor IDs for Glenfly Gpus. - In default_bdl_pos_adj, set bdl to 128 as Glenfly Gpus have hardware limitation, need to increase hdac interrupt interval. - In azx_first_init, enable polling mode for Glenfly Gpu. When the codec complete the command, it sends interrupt and writes response entries to memory, howerver, the write requests sometimes are not actually synchronized to memory when driver handle hdac interrupt on Glenfly Gpus. If the RIRB status is not updated in the interrupt handler, azx_rirb_get_response keeps trying to recevie a response from rirb until 1s timeout. Enabling polling mode for Glenfly Gpu can fix the issue. - In patch_gf_hdmi, set Glenlfy Gpu Codec's no_sticky_stream as it need driver to do actual clean-ups for the linked codec when switch from one codec to another. 2023-04-20ALSA: emu10k1: fix capture interrupt handler unlinkingOswald Buddenhagen1-2/+2
commit b09c551c77c7e01dc6e4f3c8bf06b5ffa7b06db5 upstream. Due to two copy/pastos, closing the MIC or EFX capture device would make a running ADC capture hang due to unsetting its interrupt handler. In principle, this would have also allowed dereferencing dangling pointers, but we're actually rather thorough at disabling and flushing the ints. While it may sound like one, this actually wasn't a hypothetical bug: PortAudio will open a capture stream at startup (and close it right away) even if not asked to. If the first device is busy, it will just proceed with the next one ... thus killing a concurrent capture. 2023-04-05ALSA: hda/conexant: Partial revert of a quirk for LenovoTakashi Iwai1-1/+5
commit b871cb971c683f7f212e7ca3c9a6709a75785116 upstream. The recent commit f83bb2592482 ("ALSA: hda/conexant: Add quirk for LENOVO 20149 Notebook model") introduced a quirk for the device with 17aa:3977, but this caused a regression on another model (Lenovo Ideadpad U31) with the very same PCI SSID. And, through skimming over the net, it seems that this PCI SSID is used for multiple different models, so it's no good idea to apply the quirk with the SSID. Although we may take a different ID check (e.g. the codec SSID instead of the PCI SSID), unfortunately, the original patch author couldn't identify the hardware details any longer as the machine was returned, and we can't develop the further proper fix. In this patch, instead, we partially revert the change so that the quirk won't be applied as default for addressing the regression. Meanwhile, the quirk function itself is kept, and it's now made to be applicable via the explicit model=lenovo-20149 option. 2023-03-11ALSA: ice1712: Do not left ice->gpio_mutex locked in aureon_add_controls()Dmitry Fomin1-1/+1
commit 951606a14a8901e3551fe4d8d3cedd73fe954ce1 upstream. If snd_ctl_add() fails in aureon_add_controls(), it immediately returns and leaves ice->gpio_mutex locked. ice->gpio_mutex locks in snd_ice1712_save_gpio_status and unlocks in snd_ice1712_restore_gpio_status(ice). It seems that the mutex is required only for aureon_cs8415_get(), so snd_ice1712_restore_gpio_status(ice) can be placed just after that. Compile tested only. 2023-02-22ALSA: hda: Do not unset preset when cleaning up codecCezary Rojewski2-1/+2
[ Upstream commit 87978e6ad45a16835cc58234451111091be3c59a ] Several functions that take part in codec's initialization and removal are re-used by ASoC codec drivers implementations. Drivers mimic the behavior of hda_codec_driver_probe/remove() found in sound/pci/hda/hda_bind.c with their component->probe/remove() instead. One of the reasons for that is the expectation of snd_hda_codec_device_new() to receive a valid pointer to an instance of struct snd_card. This expectation can be met only once sound card components probing commences. As ASoC sound card may be unbound without codec device being actually removed from the system, unsetting ->preset in snd_hda_codec_cleanup_for_unbind() interferes with module unload -> load scenario causing null-ptr-deref. Preset is assigned only once, during device/driver matching whereas ASoC codec driver's module reloading may occur several times throughout the lifetime of an audio stack.
