2016-08-04ALSA: hda - Fix headset mic detection problem for two dell machinesHui Wang1-0/+6
One of the machines has ALC255 on it, another one has ALC298 on it. On the machine with the codec ALC298, it also has the speaker volume problem, so we add the fixup chained to ALC298_FIXUP_SPK_VOLUME rather than adding a group of pin definition in the pin quirk table, since the speak volume problem does not happen on other machines yet. 2016-08-01ALSA: hda - On-board speaker fixup on ACER VeritonShrirang Bagul1-0/+9
On Acer Veriton machines, codec with subsystem-id 0x1b0a01b8 the port at 0x15 is configured by default as an Internal Speaker (0x90170120). However, no physical is speaker installed on-board. This patch adds a quirk which disables the physical connection on this pin. 2016-08-01ALSA: hda/realtek - Can't adjust speaker's volume on a Dell AIOHui Wang1-0/+22
We have a Dell AIO on which we can't adjust its speaker's volume. The problem is it is connected to a Audio Output node without Amp-out capability. To fix it, we change it to be connnected to a node with Amp-out capability. Cc: <stable@vger.kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Hui Wang <hui.wang@canonical.com> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>

2016-04-18ALSA: hda/realtek - Add ALC3234 headset mode for Optiplex 9020mBastien Nocera1-0/+1
The Optiplex 9020m with Haswell-DT processor needs a quirk for the headset jack at the front of the machine to be able to use microphones. A quirk for this model was originally added in 3127899, but c77900e removed it in favour of a more generic version. Unfortunately, pin configurations can changed based on firmware/BIOS versions, and the generic version doesn't have any effect on newer versions of the machine/firmware anymore. 2016-03-03ALSA: hda - Fix mic issues on Acer Aspire E1-472Simon South1-0/+1
This patch applies the microphone-related fix created for the Acer Aspire E1-572 to the E1-472 as well, as it uses the same Realtek ALC282 CODEC and demonstrates the same issues. This patch allows an external, headset microphone to be used and limits the gain on the (quite noisy) internal microphone. 2016-02-25ALSA: hda - Fix headset support and noise on HP EliteBook 755 G2Takashi Iwai1-0/+8
HP EliteBook 755 G2 with ALC3228 (ALC280) codec [103c:221c] requires the known fixup (ALC269_FIXUP_HEADSET_MIC) for making the headset mic working. Also, it suffers from the loopback noise problem, so we should disable aamix path as well. 2016-02-09ALSA: hda - Fix bad dereference of jack objectTakashi Iwai1-1/+1
The hda_jack_tbl entries are managed by snd_array for allowing multiple jacks. It's good per se, but the problem is that struct hda_jack_callback keeps the hda_jack_tbl pointer. Since snd_array doesn't preserve each pointer at resizing the array, we can't keep the original pointer but have to deduce the pointer at each time via snd_array_entry() instead. Actually, this resulted in the deference to the wrong pointer on codecs that have many pins such as CS4208. This patch replaces the pointer to the NID value as the search key. As an unexpected good side effect, this even simplifies the code, as only NID is needed in most cases. Cc: <stable@vger.kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>

2016-02-05Revert "ALSA: hda - Fix noise on Gigabyte Z170X mobo"Takashi Iwai1-8/+0
This reverts commit 0c25ad80408e95e0a4fbaf0056950206e95f726f. The original commit disabled the aamixer path due to the noise problem, but it turned out that some mobo with the same PCI SSID doesn't suffer from the issue, and the disabled function (analog loopback) is still demanded by users. Since the recent commit [e7fdd52779a6: ALSA: hda - Implement loopback control switch for Realtek and other codecs], we have the dynamic mixer switch to enable/disable the aamix path, and we don't have to disable the path statically any longer. So, let's revert the disablement, so that only the user suffering from the noise problem can turn off the aamix on the fly. In the meanwhile, the micmute led is controlled by GPIO2, so we use an existing function alc_fixup_gpio_mic_mute_hook() to control the led. 2015-12-15ALSA: hda - Set codec to D3 at reboot/shutdown on ThinkpadsTakashi Iwai1-1/+22
Lenovo Thinkpads with Realtek codecs may still have some loud crackling noises at reboot/shutdown even though a few previous fixes have been applied. It's because the previous fix (disabling the default shutup callback) takes effect only at transition of the codec power state. Meanwhile, at reboot or shutdown, we don't take down the codec power as default, thus it triggers the same problem unless the codec is powered down casually by runtime PM. This patch tries to address the issue. It gives two things: - implement the separate reboot_notify hook to struct alc_spec, and call it optionally if defined. - turn off the codec to D3 for Thinkpad models via this new callback Bugzilla: https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=958439 Reported-and-tested-by: Benjamin Poirier <bpoirier@suse.com> Cc: <stable@vger.kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>

It seems that a workaround for Thinkpad T440s crackling noise can be applied generically to all Thinkpad models: namely, disabling the default alc269 shutup callback. This patch moves it to the existing alc_fixup_tpt440_dock() while also replacing the rest code with another existing alc_fixup_disable_aamix(). It resulted in a good code reduction.
