2018-11-20ALSA: hda/realtek - Add a quirk for FSC ESPRIMO U9210Takashi Iwai1-0/+1
commit 275ec0cb946cb75ac8977f662e608fce92f8b8a8 upstream. Fujitsu Seimens ESPRIMO Mobile U9210 requires the same fixup as H270 for the correct pin configs. 2018-06-17ALSA: hda/realtek - Always immediately update mute LED with pin VREFTakashi Iwai1-1/+5
commit e40bdb03d3cd7da66bd0bc1e40cbcfb49351265c upstream. Some HP laptops have a mute mute LED controlled by a pin VREF. The Realtek codec driver updates the VREF via vmaster hook by calling snd_hda_set_pin_ctl_cache(). This works fine as long as the driver is running in a normal mode. However, when the VREF change happens during the codec being in runtime PM suspend, the regmap access will skip and postpone the actual register change. This ends up with the unchanged LED status until the next runtime PM resume even if you change the Master mute switch. (Interestingly, the machine keeps the LED status even after the codec goes into D3 -- but it's another story.) For improving this usability, let the driver temporarily powering up / down only during the pin VREF change. This can be achieved easily by wrapping the call with snd_hda_power_up_pm() / *_down_pm(). 2018-06-17ALSA: hda/realtek: PCI quirk for Fujitsu U7x7Jan-Marek Glogowski1-0/+19
commit fdcc968a3b290407bcba9d4c90e2fba6d8d928f1 upstream. These laptops have a combined jack to attach headsets, the U727 on the left, the U757 on the right, but a headsets microphone doesn't work. Using hdajacksensetest I found that pin 0x19 changed the present state when plugging the headset, in addition to 0x21, but didn't have the correct configuration (shown as "Not connected"). So this sets the configuration to the same values as the headphone pin 0x21 except for the device type microphone, which makes it work correctly. With the patch the configured pins for U727 are Pin 0x12 (Internal Mic, Mobile-In): present = No Pin 0x14 (Internal Speaker): present = No Pin 0x19 (Black Mic, Left side): present = No Pin 0x1d (Internal Aux): present = No Pin 0x21 (Black Headphone, Left side): present = No Signed-off-by: Jan-Marek Glogowski <glogow@fbihome.de> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Ben Hutchings <ben@decadent.org.uk>

commit c7efff9284dfde95a11aaa811c9d8ec8167f0f6e upstream. Although the old quirk table showed ASUS X71SL with ALC663 codec being compatible with asus-mode3 fixup, the bugzilla reporter explained that asus-model8 fits better for the dual headphone controls. 2017-02-23ALSA: hda - Fix mic regression by ASRock mobo fixupTakashi Iwai1-2/+0
commit 9a2541910dc7eaaa6859eea8a0ffda673059a623 upstream. The commit [1a3f099101b8: ALSA: hda - Fix surround output pins for ASRock B150M mobo] introduced a fixup of pin configs for ASRock mobos to fix the surround outputs. However, this overrides the pin configs of the mic pins as if they are outputs-only, effectively disabling the mic inputs. Of course, it's a regression wrt mic functionality. Actually the pins 0x18 and 0x1a don't need to be changed; we just need to disable the bogus pins 0x14 and 0x15. Then the auto-parser will pick up mic pins as switchable and assign the surround outputs there. This patch removes the incorrect pin overrides of NID 0x18 and 0x1a from the ASRock fixup. 2016-02-25Revert "ALSA: hda - Fix noise on Gigabyte Z170X mobo"Takashi Iwai1-8/+0
commit 6c361d10e0eb859233c71954abcd20d2d8700587 upstream. This reverts commit 0c25ad80408e95e0a4fbaf0056950206e95f726f. The original commit disabled the aamixer path due to the noise problem, but it turned out that some mobo with the same PCI SSID doesn't suffer from the issue, and the disabled function (analog loopback) is still demanded by users. Since the recent commit [e7fdd52779a6: ALSA: hda - Implement loopback control switch for Realtek and other codecs], we have the dynamic mixer switch to enable/disable the aamix path, and we don't have to disable the path statically any longer. So, let's revert the disablement, so that only the user suffering from the noise problem can turn off the aamix on the fly. 2016-01-19ALSA: hda - Fix noise problems on Thinkpad T440sTakashi Iwai1-1/+21
commit 9a811230481243f384b8036c6a558bfdbd961f78 upstream. Lenovo Thinkpad T440s suffers from constant background noises, and it seems to be a generic hardware issue on this model: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-T400-T500-and-newer-T/T440s-speaker-noise/td-p/1339883 As the noise comes from the analog loopback path, disabling the path is the easy workaround. Also, the machine gives significant cracking noises at PM suspend. A workaround found by trial-and-error is to disable the shutup callback currently used for ALC269-variant. This patch addresses these noise issues by introducing a new fixup chain. Although the same workaround might be applicable to other Thinkpad models, it's applied only to T440s (17aa:220c) in this patch, so far, just to be safe (you chicken!). As a compromise, a new model option string "tp440" is provided now, though, so that owners of other Thinkpad models can test it more easily. 2015-09-29ALSA: hda - Enable headphone jack detect on old Fujitsu laptopsTakashi Iwai1-2/+2
commit bb148bdeb0ab16fc0ae8009799471e4d7180073b upstream. According to the bug report, FSC Amilo laptops with ALC880 can detect the headphone jack but currently the driver disables it. It's partly intentionally, as non-working jack detect was reported in the past. Let's enable now. 2015-08-25ALSA: hda - Fix MacBook Pro 5,2 quirkTakashi Iwai1-1/+1
commit 649ccd08534ee26deb2e5b08509800d0e95167f5 upstream. MacBook Pro 5,2 with ALC889 codec had already a fixup entry, but this seems not working correctly, a fix for pin NID 0x15 is needed in addition. It's equivalent with the fixup for MacBook Air 1,1, so use this instead. 2015-07-15ALSA: hda - Fix the dock headphone output on Fujitsu Lifebook E780Takashi Iwai1-0/+6
commit 4df3fd1700abbb53bd874143dfd1f9ac9e7cbf4b upstream. Fujitsu Lifebook E780 sets the sequence number 0x0f to only only of the two headphones, thus the driver tries to assign another as the line-out, and this results in the inconsistent mapping between the created jack ctl and the actual I/O. Due to this, PulseAudio doesn't handle it properly and gets the silent output. The fix is to ignore the non-HP sequencer checks. 2015-07-15ALSA: hda - Add headset support to Acer Aspire V5Takashi Iwai1-0/+12
commit 7819717b11346b8a5420b223b46600e394049c66 upstream. Acer Aspire V5 with ALC282 codec needs the similar quirk like Dell laptops to support the headset mic. The headset mic pin is 0x19 and it's not exposed by BIOS, thus we need to fix the pincfg as well. 2015-07-15ALSA: hda - Fix Dock Headphone on Thinkpad X250 seen as a Line OutDavid Henningsson1-0/+7
commit ec56af67a10a0d82b79027878a81fce08d002d50 upstream. Thinkpad X250, when attached to a dock, has two headphone outs but no line out. Make sure we don't try to turn this into one headphone and one line out (since that disables the headphone amp on the dock). 2015-04-27ALSA: hda - Fix headphone pin config for Lifebook T731Takashi Iwai1-0/+9
commit cc7016ab1a22fb26f388c2fb2b692b89897cbc3e upstream. Some BIOS version of Fujitsu Lifebook T731 seems to set up the headphone pin (0x21) without the assoc number 0x0f while it's set only to the output on the docking port (0x1a). With the recent commit [03ad6a8c93b6: ALSA: hda - Fix "PCM" name being used on one DAC when there are two DACs], this resulted in the weird mixer element mapping where the headphone on the laptop is assigned as a shared volume with the speaker and the docking port is assigned as an individual headphone. This patch improves the situation by correcting the headphone pin config to the more appropriate value.
