2021-07-20ALSA: firewire-motu: fix detection for S/PDIF source on optical interface in ↵Takashi Sakamoto1-7/+6
v2 protocol [ Upstream commit fa4db23233eb912234bdfb0b26a38be079c6b5ea ] The devices in protocol version 2 has a register with flag for IEC 60958 signal detection as source of sampling clock without discrimination between coaxial and optical interfaces. On the other hand, current implementation of driver manage to interpret type of signal on optical interface instead. This commit fixes the detection of optical/coaxial interface for S/PDIF signal. [ Upstream commit 50ebe56222bfa0911a932930f9229ee5995508d9 ] A user of FFADO project reported the issue of ToneWeal FW66. As a result, the device is identified as one of applications of BeBoB solution. I note that in the report the device returns contradictory result in plug discovery process for audio subunit. Fortunately ALSA BeBoB driver doesn't perform it thus it's likely to handle the device without issues. [ Upstream commit 5d6fb80a142b5994355ce675c517baba6089d199 ] This reverts commit 0edabdfe89581669609eaac5f6a8d0ae6fe95e7f. I've explained that optional FireWire card for d.2 is also built-in to d.2 Pro, however it's wrong. The optional card uses DM1000 ASIC and has 'Mackie DJ Mixer' in its model name of configuration ROM. On the other hand, built-in FireWire card for d.2 Pro and d.4 Pro uses OXFW971 ASIC and has 'd.Pro' in its model name according to manuals and user experiences. The former card is not the card for d.2 Pro. They are similar in appearance but different internally. In the workqueue to queue wake-up event, isochronous context is not processed, thus it's useless to check context for the workqueue to switch status of runtime for PCM substream to XRUN. Avid M-Box 3 Pro [ Upstream commit 9f079c1bdc9087842dc5ac9d81b1d7f2578e81ce ] ALSA dice driver detects jumbo payload at high sampling transfer frequency for below models: * Avid M-Box 3 Pro * M-Audio Profire 610 * M-Audio Profire 2626 Although many DICE-based devices have a quirk at high sampling transfer frequency to multiplex double number of PCM frames into data block than the number in IEC 61883-1/6, the above devices are just compliant to IEC 61883-1/6. This commit disables the mode of double_pcm_frames for the models. On the other hand, Mackie d.4 Pro has built-in function for IEEE 1394 communication by Oxford Semiconductor OXFW971, according to schematic diagram available in Mackie website. Although I misunderstood that Mackie d.2 Pro would be also a model with OXFW971, it's wrong. Mackie d.2 Pro is a model which includes the extension card as factory settings. This commit fixes entries in Kconfig and comment in ALSA OXFW driver. 2021-05-26ALSA: dice: fix stream format at middle sampling rate for Alesis iO 26Takashi Sakamoto1-1/+1

It delivers PCM frames from the interfaces by second isochronous packet streaming. Although both of the interfaces are available at 44.1/48.0 kHz, first one of them is only available at 88.2/96.0 kHz. It reduces the number of PCM samples to 4 in Multi Bit Linear Audio data channel of data blocks on the second isochronous packet streaming. This commit fixes hardcoded stream formats. When node is removed from IEEE 1394 bus, any transaction fails to the node. In the case, ALSA dice driver doesn't stop isochronous contexts even if they are running. As a result, null pointer dereference occurs in callback from the running context. This commit fixes the bug to release isochronous contexts always. Drivers in ALSA firewire stack supports eventing to userspace applications via ALSA hwdep interface. All of the drivers supports stream lock events. Some of them supports their unique events according to specification of target device. ALSA bebob driver supports the stream lock event only. In the case, it's enough to check condition only in loop with process blocking. However, current implementation check it again after breaking the loop. This commit removes the redundant check. As snd_fw_async_midi_port.consume_bytes is unsigned int, and NSEC_PER_SEC is 1000000000L, the second multiplication in port->consume_bytes * 8 * NSEC_PER_SEC / 31250 always overflows on 32-bit platforms, truncating the result. Fix this by precalculating "NSEC_PER_SEC / 31250", which is an integer constant. Note that this assumes port->consume_bytes <= 16777. The problem is that presumably we would want the IRQs to be re-enabled on the second call the spin_unlock_irq() but instead it will be enabled at the first call so IRQs will be enabled earlier than expected. In this situation the copy_resp_to_buf() function is only called from one function and it is called with IRQs disabled. We can just use the regular spin_lock/unlock() functions. 2020-09-11ALSA: firewire: Replace tasklet with workTakashi Iwai2-13/+14
The tasklet is an old API that should be deprecated, usually can be converted to another decent API. In FireWire driver, a tasklet is still used for offloading the AMDTP PCM stream handling. It can be achieved gracefully with a work queued, too. This patch replaces the tasklet usage in firewire-lib driver with a simple work. The conversion is fairly straightforward but for the in_interrupt() checks that are replaced with the check using the current_work(). Note that in_interrupt() in amdtp_packet tracepoint is still kept as is. This is the place that is probed by both softirq of 1394 OHCI and a user task of a PCM application, and the work handling is already filtered in amdtp_domain_stream_pcm_pointer(). In a commit 53b3ffee7885 ("ALSA: firewire-tascam: change device probing processing"), I addressed to the concern that version field in configuration differs depending on installed firmware. However, as long as I checked, the version number is fixed. It's safe to return version number back to modalias. In current implementation, speculative strategy is used to finish the operation; just waiting for 4 seconds. In MOTU protocol, data block consists of SPH and 24-bit chunks aligned to quadlet. The number of chunks per data block is specific to model. For models with optical interface, the number differs depending on I/O settings for the interface (ADAT, TOSLINK). Currently the number is calculated from flags in model-specific data. However this is weak in the case that the model has quirks. Actually, for quirks of some models, flags are used against their original meanings. This commit adds model-specific table of chunk count. For future integration, this table is based on the calculation.
