[ Upstream commit cb8afea4655ff004fa7feee825d5c79783525383 ]
cfg80211_is_element_inherited() reads the first data octet of the
candidate element (id = elem->data[0]) to look it up in an extension
non-inheritance list. It does so after testing elem->id, but without
verifying that the element actually has a data octet. A zero-length
extension element (WLAN_EID_EXTENSION with length 0) therefore makes it
read one octet past the end of the element.
_ieee802_11_parse_elems_full() runs this check for every element of a
frame once a non-inheritance context exists -- e.g. while parsing a
per-STA profile of a Multi-Link element in a (re)association response,
or a non-transmitted BSS profile -- so a crafted frame from an AP can
trigger a one-octet slab-out-of-bounds read during element parsing:
BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in cfg80211_is_element_inherited
Read of size 1 ... in net/wireless/scan.c
Return early (treat the element as inherited) when an extension element
carries no data, mirroring the existing handling of empty ID lists.
The bug was found by fuzzing ieee802_11_parse_elems_full() under KASAN.

[ Upstream commit edf0730be33696a1bd142792830d392129e495cc ]
cfg80211_sched_scan_results() can queue rdev->sched_scan_res_wk from a
driver result notification while a scheduled scan request is present. The
work callback recovers the containing cfg80211_registered_device and then
locks the wiphy and walks the scheduled-scan request list.
wiphy_unregister() already makes the wiphy unreachable and drains rdev work
items before cfg80211_dev_free() can release the object, but it does not
drain sched_scan_res_wk. A queued or running result work item can therefore
cross the unregister/free boundary and access freed rdev state.
The buggy scenario involves two paths, with each column showing the order
within that path:
scheduled-scan result path: unregister/free path:
1. cfg80211_sched_scan_results() 1. interface teardown stops and
queues rdev->sched_scan_res_wk. removes the scheduled scan request.
2. cfg80211_wq starts the work 2. wiphy_unregister() drains other
item and recovers rdev. rdev work items.
3. The worker locks rdev->wiphy 3. cfg80211_dev_free() destroys and
and walks rdev state. frees rdev.
Cancel sched_scan_res_wk in wiphy_unregister() alongside the other rdev
work items. cancel_work_sync() removes a pending result notification and
waits for an already running callback, so cfg80211_dev_free() cannot free
rdev while this work item is still active.
Validation reproduced this kernel report:

[ Upstream commit 9dcc1af3bbf5441f71a1e51b8d81bdf38a249607 ]
The error message emitted by nl80211_validate_key_link_id() when a group
key install on an MLO wdev is missing the link ID reads "link ID must
for MLO group key", which is missing the words "be set". This makes the
error harder to grep and parse in userspace logs, and is reported
verbatim by wpa_supplicant via its nl80211 extack relay, e.g.:
wpa_supplicant: nl80211: kernel reports: link ID must for MLO group key
The sibling error strings in the same helper already use grammatical
phrasing ("link ID not allowed for pairwise key", "invalid link ID for
MLO group key", "link ID not allowed for non-MLO group key"). Fix this

commit 4cd92957e8f8cc4ebfe8a5d4203c14c592fde6b1 upstream.
nl80211_parse_rnr_elems() stores the parsed element count in a
u8-backed cfg80211_rnr_elems::cnt field and uses that count to size
the flexible array allocation.
Reject nested NL80211_ATTR_EMA_RNR_ELEMS input once the count reaches
255, before incrementing it again. This keeps the parser aligned with
the data structure it fills and matches the existing bound check used
by nl80211_parse_mbssid_elems().

commit 7666dbb1bacc4ba522b96740cba7283d243d16e1 upstream.
cfg80211_merge_profile() reassembles a Multi-BSSID non-transmitted BSS
profile that has been split across multiple consecutive MBSSID elements.
Its while-loop calls
cfg80211_get_profile_continuation(ie, ielen, mbssid_elem, sub_elem)
but never advances mbssid_elem or sub_elem inside the body. Each
iteration therefore searches for a continuation that follows the same
fixed pair; the helper returns the same next_mbssid; and the same
next_sub bytes are memcpy()'d into merged_ie at a growing offset until
the buffer fills.
Advance both mbssid_elem and sub_elem to the just-consumed continuation
so the next call to cfg80211_get_profile_continuation() searches for a
further continuation beyond it (or returns NULL when none exists).
A specially-crafted malicious beacon can take advantage of this bug
to cause the kernel to spend an excessive amount of time in
cfg80211_merge_profile (up to as much as 2ms per beacon received),
which could theoretically be abused in some way.

[ Upstream commit 6dccbc9f3e1d38565dff7730d2b7d1e8b16c9b09 ]
When the nl80211 socket that originated a PMSR request is
closed, cfg80211_release_pmsr() sets the request's nl_portid
to zero and schedules pmsr_free_wk to process the abort
asynchronously. If the interface is concurrently torn down
before that work runs, cfg80211_pmsr_wdev_down() calls
cfg80211_pmsr_process_abort() directly. However, the already-
scheduled pmsr_free_wk work item remains pending and may run
after the interface has been removed from the driver. This
could cause the driver's abort_pmsr callback to operate on a
torn-down interface, leading to undefined behavior and
potential crashes.
Cancel pmsr_free_wk synchronously in cfg80211_pmsr_wdev_down()
before calling cfg80211_pmsr_process_abort(). This ensures any
pending or in-progress work is drained before interface teardown
proceeds, preventing the work from invoking the driver abort
callback after the interface is gone.

commit c854758abe0b8d86f9c43dc060ff56a0ee5b31e0 upstream.
The radiotap parser is currently only used with the radiotap
namespace (not with vendor namespaces), but if the undefined
field 18 is used, the alignment/size is unknown as well. In
this case, iterator->_next_ns_data isn't initialized (it's
only set for skipping vendor namespaces), and syzbot points
out that we later compare against this uninitialized value.
Fix this by moving the rejection of unknown radiotap fields
down to after the in-namespace lookup, so it will really use
iterator->_next_ns_data only for vendor namespaces, even in
case undefined fields are present.

[ Upstream commit a3034bf0746d88a00cceda9541534a5721445a24 ]
An integer overflow occurs in cfg80211_calculate_bitrate_he() when
calculating bitrates for high throughput HE configurations.
For example, with 160 MHz bandwidth, HE-MCS 13, HE-NSS 4, and HE-GI 0,
the multiplication (result * rate->nss) overflows the 32-bit 'result'
variable before division by 8, leading to significantly underestimated
bitrate values.
The overflow occurs because the NSS multiplication operates on a 32-bit
integer that cannot accommodate intermediate values exceeding
4,294,967,295. When overflow happens, the value wraps around, producing
incorrect bitrates for high MCS and NSS combinations.
Fix this by utilizing the 64-bit 'tmp' variable for the NSS
multiplication and subsequent divisions via do_div(). This approach
preserves full precision throughout the entire calculation, with the
final value assigned to 'result' only after completing all operations.

commit 737bb912ebbe4571195c56eba557c4d7315b26fb upstream.
This patch is a mitigation to prevent the A-MSDU spoofing vulnerability
for mesh networks. The initial update to the IEEE 802.11 standard, in
response to the FragAttacks, missed this case (CVE-2025-27558). It can
be considered a variant of CVE-2020-24588 but for mesh networks.
This patch tries to detect if a standard MSDU was turned into an A-MSDU
by an adversary. This is done by parsing a received A-MSDU as a standard
MSDU, calculating the length of the Mesh Control header, and seeing if
the 6 bytes after this header equal the start of an rfc1042 header. If
equal, this is a strong indication of an ongoing attack attempt.
This defense was tested with mac80211_hwsim against a mesh network that
uses an empty Mesh Address Extension field, i.e., when four addresses
are used, and when using a 12-byte Mesh Address Extension field, i.e.,
when six addresses are used. Functionality of normal MSDUs and A-MSDUs
was also tested, and confirmed working, when using both an empty and
12-byte Mesh Address Extension field.
It was also tested with mac80211_hwsim that A-MSDU attacks in non-mesh
networks keep being detected and prevented.
Note that the vulnerability being patched, and the defense being
implemented, was also discussed in the following paper and in the
following IEEE 802.11 presentation:

defragmentation
commit 023c1f2f0609218103cbcb48e0104b144d4a16dc upstream.
Currently during the multi-link element defragmentation process, the
multi-link element length added to the total IEs length when calculating
the length of remaining IEs after the multi-link element in
cfg80211_defrag_mle(). This could lead to out-of-bounds access if the
multi-link element or its corresponding fragment elements are the last
elements in the IEs buffer.
To address this issue, correctly calculate the remaining IEs length by
deducting the multi-link element end offset from total IEs end offset.

[ Upstream commit 72d520476a2fab6f3489e8388ab524985d6c4b90 ]
A wiphy_work can be queued from the moment the wiphy is allocated and
initialized (i.e. wiphy_new_nm). When a wiphy_work is queued, the
rdev::wiphy_work is getting queued.
If wiphy_free is called before the rdev::wiphy_work had a chance to run,
the wiphy memory will be freed, and then when it eventally gets to run
it'll use invalid memory.
Fix this by canceling the work before freeing the wiphy.

commit 49f27f29446a5bfe633dd2cc0cfebd48a1a5e77f upstream.
It is possible to set both MONITOR_FLAG_COOK_FRAMES and MONITOR_FLAG_ACTIVE
flags simultaneously on the same monitor interface from the userspace. This
causes a sub-interface to be created with no IEEE80211_SDATA_IN_DRIVER bit
set because the monitor interface is in the cooked state and it takes
precedence over all other states. When the interface is then being deleted
the kernel calls WARN_ONCE() from check_sdata_in_driver() because of missing
that bit.
Fix this by rejecting MONITOR_FLAG_COOK_FRAMES if it is set along with
other flags.

commit 59b348be7597c4a9903cb003c69e37df20c04a30 upstream.
Syzbot keeps reporting an issue [1] that occurs when erroneous symbols
sent from userspace get through into user_alpha2[] via
regulatory_hint_user() call. Such invalid regulatory hints should be
rejected.
While a sanity check from commit 47caf685a685 ("cfg80211: regulatory:
reject invalid hints") looks to be enough to deter these very cases,
there is a way to get around it due to 2 reasons.
1) The way isalpha() works, symbols other than latin lower and
upper letters may be used to determine a country/domain.
For instance, greek letters will also be considered upper/lower
letters and for such characters isalpha() will return true as well.
However, ISO-3166-1 alpha2 codes should only hold latin
characters.
2) While processing a user regulatory request, between
reg_process_hint_user() and regulatory_hint_user() there happens to
be a call to queue_regulatory_request() which modifies letters in
request->alpha2[] with toupper(). This works fine for latin symbols,
less so for weird letter characters from the second part of _ctype[].
Syzbot triggers a warning in is_user_regdom_saved() by first sending
over an unexpected non-latin letter that gets malformed by toupper()
into a character that ends up failing isalpha() check.
Prevent this by enhancing is_an_alpha2() to ensure that incoming
symbols are latin letters and nothing else.

commit d5fee261dfd9e17b08b1df8471ac5d5736070917 upstream.
When we free wdev->cqm_config when unregistering, we also
need to clear out the pointer since the same wdev/netdev
may get re-registered in another network namespace, then
destroyed later, running this code again, which results in
a double-free.

[ Upstream commit 56440d7ec28d60f8da3bfa09062b3368ff9b16db ]
While running net selftests with CONFIG_PROVE_RCU_LIST=y I saw
one lockdep splat [1].
genlmsg_mcast() uses for_each_net_rcu(), and must therefore hold RCU.
Instead of letting all callers guard genlmsg_multicast_allns()
with a rcu_read_lock()/rcu_read_unlock() pair, do it in genlmsg_mcast().
This also means the @flags parameter is useless, we need to always use
GFP_ATOMIC.

Looking at https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=1a3986bbd3169c307819

following:
[ T4985] UBSAN: array-index-out-of-bounds in net/wireless/scan.c:3479:25

Even if we do 'creq->n_channels = n_channels' before 'creq->ssids =
(void *)&creq->channels[n_channels]', UBSAN treats the latter as
off-by-one error. Fix this by using pointer arithmetic rather than
an expression with explicit array indexing and use convenient
'struct_size()' to simplify the math here and in 'kzalloc()' above.

[ Upstream commit 7f12e26a194d0043441f870708093d9c2c3bad7d ]
Jiazi Li reported that they occasionally see hash table duplicates
as evidenced by the WARN_ON() in rb_insert_bss() in this code. It
isn't clear how that happens, nor have I been able to reproduce it,
but if it does happen, the kernel crashes later, when it tries to
unhash the entry that's now not hashed.
Try to make this situation more survivable by removing the BSS from
the list(s) as well, that way it's fully leaked here (as had been
the intent in the hash insert error path), and no longer reachable
through the list(s) so it shouldn't be unhashed again later.

userspace needs in this case. The fact that it's included is
just a historic quirk.

[ Upstream commit 23daf1b4c91db9b26f8425cc7039cf96d22ccbfe ]
Setting the AP channel width is meant for use with the normal
20/40/... MHz channel width progression, and switching around
in S1G or narrow channels isn't supported. Disallow that.

[ Upstream commit baeaabf970b9a90999f62ae27edf63f6cb86c023 ]
Individual MLO links connection status is not copied to
EVENT_CONNECT_RESULT data while processing the connect response
information in cfg80211_connect_done(). Due to this failed links
are wrongly indicated with success status in EVENT_CONNECT_RESULT.
To fix this, copy the individual MLO links status to the
EVENT_CONNECT_RESULT data.

Currently NL80211_RATE_INFO_HE_RU_ALLOC_2x996 is not handled in
cfg80211_calculate_bitrate_he(), leading to below warning:

commit 0941772342d59e48733131ac3a202fa1a4d832e9 upstream.
In nl80211, we always set the ssids of a scan request to
NULL when n_ssids==0 (passive scan). Drivers have relied
on this behaviour in the past, so we fixed it in 6 GHz
scan requests as well, and added a warning so we'd have
assurance the API would always be called that way.
syzbot found that wext doesn't ensure that, so we reach
the check and trigger the warning. Fix the wext code to
set the ssids pointer to NULL when there are none.

[ Upstream commit f7a8b10bfd614d7a9a16fbe80d28ead4f063cb00 ]
The 6 GHz scan request struct allocated by cfg80211_scan_6ghz() is
meant to be formed this way:
[base struct][channels][ssids][6ghz_params]
It is allocated with [channels] as the maximum number of channels
supported by the driver in the 6 GHz band, since allocation is
before knowing how many there will be.
However, the inner pointers are set incorrectly: initially, the
6 GHz scan parameters pointer is set:
[base struct][channels]
^ scan_6ghz_params
and later the SSID pointer is set to the end of the actually
_used_ channels.
[base struct][channels]
^ ssids
If many APs were to be discovered, and many channels used, and
there were many SSIDs, then the SSIDs could overlap the 6 GHz
parameters.
Additionally, the request->ssids for most of the function points
to the original request still (given the struct copy) but is used
normally, which is confusing.
Clear this up, by actually using the allocated space for 6 GHz
parameters _after_ the SSIDs, and set up the SSIDs initially so
they are used more clearly. Just like in nl80211.c, set them
only if there actually are SSIDs though.
Finally, also copy the elements (ie/ie_len) so they're part of
the same request, not pointing to the old request.
