2014-10-06openvswitch: Add support for Geneve tunneling.Jesse Gross1-0/+1
The Openvswitch implementation is completely agnostic to the options that are in use and can handle newly defined options without further work. It does this by simply matching on a byte array of options and allowing userspace to setup flows on this array. 2014-10-06openvswitch: Wrap struct ovs_key_ipv4_tunnel in a new structure.Jesse Gross1-1/+1
Currently, the flow information that is matched for tunnels and the tunnel data passed around with packets is the same. However, as additional information is added this is not necessarily desirable, as in the case of pointers. This adds a new structure for tunnel metadata which currently contains only the existing struct. This change is purely internal to the kernel since the current OVS_KEY_ATTR_IPV4_TUNNEL is simply a compressed version of OVS_KEY_ATTR_TUNNEL that is translated at flow setup. 2014-09-09openvswitch: change the data type of error status to atomic_long_tLi RongQing1-6/+4
Change the date type of error status from u64 to atomic_long_t, and use atomic operation, then remove the lock which is used to protect the error status. The operation of atomic maybe faster than spin lock. Cc: Pravin Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: Li RongQing <roy.qing.li@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-07-24openvswitch: Allow each vport to have an array of 'port_id's.Alex Wang1-4/+23
In order to allow handlers directly read upcalls from datapath, we need to support per-handler netlink socket for each vport in datapath. This commit makes this happen. Also, it is guaranteed to be backward compatible with previous branch. 2014-05-17openvswitch: avoid cast-qual warning in vport_privDaniele Di Proietto1-1/+1
This function must cast a const value to a non const value. By adding an uintptr_t cast the warning is suppressed. To avoid the cast (proper solution) several function signatures must be changed. 2014-05-17openvswitch: avoid warnings in vport_from_privDaniele Di Proietto1-2/+2
This change, firstly, avoids declaring the formal parameter const, since it is treated as non const. (to avoid -Wcast-qual) Secondly, it cast the pointer from void* to u8*, since it is used in arithmetic (to avoid -Wpointer-arith) Signed-off-by: Daniele Di Proietto <daniele.di.proietto@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
2014-01-07Merge branch 'master' of ↵David S. Miller1-1/+0
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jesse/openvswitch Jesse Gross says: ==================== [GIT net-next] Open vSwitch Open vSwitch changes for net-next/3.14. Highlights are: * Performance improvements in the mechanism to get packets to userspace using memory mapped netlink and skb zero copy where appropriate. * Per-cpu flow stats in situations where flows are likely to be shared across CPUs. Standard flow stats are used in other situations to save memory and allocation time. * A handful of code cleanups and rationalization. ==================== Signed-off-by: David S. 2013-06-20openvswitch: Add gre tunnel support.Pravin B Shelar1-0/+7
Add gre vport implementation. Most of gre protocol processing is pushed to gre module. It make use of gre demultiplexer therefore it can co-exist with linux device based gre tunnels. 2013-06-15openvswitch: Remove unused get_config vport op.Jesse Gross1-3/+0

2013-04-16openvswitch: Use generic struct pcpu_tstats.Pravin B Shelar1-9/+2
Rather than defining ovs specific stats struct (vport_percpu_stats), we can use existing pcpu_tstats to achieve exactly same functionality. Signed-off-by: Pravin B Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
2013-04-16openvswitch: Simplify datapath locking.Pravin B Shelar1-2/+2
Currently OVS uses combination of genl and rtnl lock to protect datapath state. This was done due to networking stack locking. But this has complicated locking and there are few lock ordering issues with new tunneling protocols. Following patch simplifies locking by introducing new ovs mutex and now this lock is used to protect entire ovs state. 2012-12-04openvswitch: Avoid useless holes in struct vportThomas Graf1-2/+2
Having the 16bit port_no in between a set of pointers creates an unwanted and useless hole in the struct. Signed-off-by: Thomas Graf <tgraf@suug.ch> Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
2012-09-10netlink: Rename pid to portid to avoid confusionEric W. Biederman1-3/+3
It is a frequent mistake to confuse the netlink port identifier with a process identifier. Try to reduce this confusion by renaming fields that hold port identifiers portid instead of pid. I have carefully avoided changing the structures exported to userspace to avoid changing the userspace API. I have successfully built an allyesconfig kernel with this change. Signed-off-by: "Eric W. 2012-08-23openvswitch: Add support for network namespaces.Pravin B Shelar1-1/+2
Following patch adds support for network namespace to openvswitch. Since it must release devices when namespaces are destroyed, a side effect of this patch is that the module no longer keeps a refcount but instead cleans up any state when it is unloaded. 2011-12-03net: Add Open vSwitch kernel components.Jesse Gross1-0/+205
Open vSwitch is a multilayer Ethernet switch targeted at virtualized environments. In addition to supporting a variety of features expected in a traditional hardware switch, it enables fine-grained programmatic extension and flow-based control of the network. This control is useful in a wide variety of applications but is particularly important in multi-server virtualization deployments, which are often characterized by highly dynamic endpoints and the need to maintain logical abstractions for multiple tenants. The Open vSwitch datapath provides an in-kernel fast path for packet forwarding. It is complemented by a userspace daemon, ovs-vswitchd, which is able to accept configuration from a variety of sources and translate it into packet processing rules. See http://openvswitch.org for more information and userspace utilities. Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
