2015-10-22openvswitch: Use dev_queue_xmit for vport send.Pravin B Shelar1-1/+0
With use of lwtunnel, we can directly call dev_queue_xmit() rather than calling netdev vport send operation. Following change make tunnel vport code bit cleaner. Signed-off-by: Pravin B Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Acked-by: Thomas Graf <tgraf@suug.ch> Acked-by: Jiri Benc <jbenc@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2015-08-30openvswitch: Remove vport stats.Pravin B Shelar1-1/+1
Since all vport types are now backed by netdev, we can directly use netdev stats. Following patch removes redundant stat from vport. Signed-off-by: Pravin B Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2015-08-11openvswitch: Move tunnel destroy function to oppenvswitch module.Pravin B Shelar1-1/+1
This function will be used in gre and geneve vport implementations. Signed-off-by: Pravin B Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Acked-by: Thomas Graf <tgraf@suug.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2015-07-30openvswitch: Re-add CONFIG_OPENVSWITCH_VXLANThomas Graf1-0/+3
This readds the config option CONFIG_OPENVSWITCH_VXLAN to avoid a hard dependency of OVS on VXLAN. It moves the VXLAN config compat code to vport-vxlan.c and allows compliation as a module. Fixes: 614732eaa12d ("openvswitch: Use regular VXLAN net_device device") Fixes: 2661371ace96 ("openvswitch: fix compilation when vxlan is a module") Cc: Pravin B Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Cc: Nicolas Dichtel <nicolas.dichtel@6wind.com> Signed-off-by: Thomas Graf <tgraf@suug.ch> Acked-by: Pravin B Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2015-07-21openvswitch: Abstract vport name through ovs_vport_name()Thomas Graf1-1/+0
This allows to get rid of the get_name() vport ops later on. Signed-off-by: Thomas Graf <tgraf@suug.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2015-07-21openvswitch: Move dev pointer into vport itselfThomas Graf1-12/+0
This is the first step in representing all OVS vports as regular struct net_devices. Move the net_device pointer into the vport structure itself to get rid of struct vport_netdev. Signed-off-by: Thomas Graf <tgraf@suug.ch> Signed-off-by: Pravin B Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-10-28ovs: Turn vports with dependencies into separate modulesThomas Graf1-0/+3
The internal and netdev vport remain part of openvswitch.ko. Encap vports including vxlan, gre, and geneve can be built as separate modules and are loaded on demand. Modules can be unloaded after use. Datapath ports keep a reference to the vport module during their lifetime. Allows to remove the error prone maintenance of the global list vport_ops_list. 2012-11-29openvswitch: Use RCU callback when detaching netdevices.Jesse Gross1-0/+3
Currently, each time a device is detached from an OVS datapath we call synchronize RCU before freeing associated data structures. However, if a bridge is deleted (which detaches all ports) when many devices are connected then there can be a long delay. This switches to use call_rcu() to group the cost together. 2011-12-03net: Add Open vSwitch kernel components.Jesse Gross1-0/+42
Open vSwitch is a multilayer Ethernet switch targeted at virtualized environments. In addition to supporting a variety of features expected in a traditional hardware switch, it enables fine-grained programmatic extension and flow-based control of the network. This control is useful in a wide variety of applications but is particularly important in multi-server virtualization deployments, which are often characterized by highly dynamic endpoints and the need to maintain logical abstractions for multiple tenants. The Open vSwitch datapath provides an in-kernel fast path for packet forwarding. It is complemented by a userspace daemon, ovs-vswitchd, which is able to accept configuration from a variety of sources and translate it into packet processing rules. See http://openvswitch.org for more information and userspace utilities. Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
