2013-06-20openvswitch: Add tunneling interface.Pravin B Shelar1-1/+1
Add ovs tunnel interface for set tunnel action for userspace. Signed-off-by: Pravin B Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Acked-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-06-15openvswitch: make skb->csum consistent with rest of networking stack.Pravin B Shelar1-0/+1
Following patch keeps skb->csum correct across ovs. Signed-off-by: Pravin B Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
2013-04-30openvswitch: Remove unneeded ovs_netdev_get_ifindex()Thomas Graf1-1/+0
The only user is get_dpifindex(), no need to redirect via the port operations. Signed-off-by: Thomas Graf <tgraf@suug.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-04-19net: vlan: rename NETIF_F_HW_VLAN_* feature flags to NETIF_F_HW_VLAN_CTAG_*Patrick McHardy1-1/+1
Rename the hardware VLAN acceleration features to include "CTAG" to indicate that they only support CTAGs. Follow up patches will introduce 802.1ad server provider tagging (STAGs) and require the distinction for hardware not supporting acclerating both. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-04-16openvswitch: Simplify datapath locking.Pravin B Shelar1-0/+6
Currently OVS uses combination of genl and rtnl lock to protect datapath state. This was done due to networking stack locking. But this has complicated locking and there are few lock ordering issues with new tunneling protocols. Following patch simplifies locking by introducing new ovs mutex and now this lock is used to protect entire ovs state. 2013-03-17Merge branch 'master' of ↵David S. Miller1-11/+2
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jesse/openvswitch Conflicts: net/openvswitch/vport-internal_dev.c Jesse Gross says: ==================== A couple of minor enhancements for net-next/3.10. The largest is an extension to allow variable length metadata to be passed to userspace with packets. There is a merge conflict in net/openvswitch/vport-internal_dev.c: A existing commit modifies internal_dev_mac_addr() and a new commit deletes it. The new one is correct, so you can just remove that function. ==================== Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-01-07ethtool: fix drvinfo strings set in driversJiri Pirko1-1/+1
Use strlcpy where possible to ensure the string is \0 terminated. Use always sizeof(string) instead of 32, ETHTOOL_BUSINFO_LEN and custom defines. Use snprintf instead of sprint. Remove unnecessary inits of ->fw_version Remove unnecessary inits of drvinfo struct. Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jiri@resnulli.us> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-01-04net: remove unnecessary NET_ADDR_RANDOM "bitclean"Jiri Pirko1-1/+0
NET_ADDR_SET is set in dev_set_mac_address() no need to alter dev->addr_assign_type value in drivers. Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jiri@resnulli.us> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-12-04openvswitch: Use eth_mac_addr() instead of duplicating itThomas Graf1-12/+2
bonus: if we ever are to use IFF_LIVE_ADDR_CHANGE for anything further than to check availability in eth_mac_addr(), Open vSwitch will be ready for that. Signed-off-by: Thomas Graf <tgraf@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
2012-08-23openvswitch: Add support for network namespaces.Pravin B Shelar1-1/+6
Following patch adds support for network namespace to openvswitch. Since it must release devices when namespaces are destroyed, a side effect of this patch is that the module no longer keeps a refcount but instead cleans up any state when it is unloaded. Signed-off-by: Pravin B Shelar <pshelar@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
2012-05-25openvswitch: Reset upper layer protocol info on internal devices.Jesse Gross1-0/+8
It's possible that packets that are sent on internal devices (from the OVS perspective) have already traversed the local IP stack. After they go through the internal device, they will again travel through the IP stack which may get confused by the presence of existing information in the skb. The problem can be observed when switching between namespaces. This clears out that information to avoid problems but deliberately leaves other metadata alone. This is to provide maximum flexibility in chaining together OVS and other Linux components. Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
2012-05-04openvswitch: Replace Nicira Networks.Raju Subramanian1-1/+1
Replaced all instances of Nicira Networks(, Inc) to Nicira, Inc. Signed-off-by: Raju Subramanian <rsubramanian@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: Ben Pfaff <blp@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
2012-02-16net: use eth_hw_addr_random() and reset addr_assign_typeDanny Kukawka1-1/+2
Use eth_hw_addr_random() instead of calling random_ether_addr() to set addr_assign_type correctly to NET_ADDR_RANDOM. Reset the state to NET_ADDR_PERM as soon as the MAC get changed via .ndo_set_mac_address. v2: adapt to renamed eth_hw_addr_random() Signed-off-by: Danny Kukawka <danny.kukawka@bisect.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-01-17net: remove version.h includes in net/openvswitch/Devendra Naga1-1/+0
remove version.h includes in net/openswitch/ as reported by make versioncheck. Signed-off-by: Devendra Naga <devendra.aaru@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-12-03net: Add Open vSwitch kernel components.Jesse Gross1-0/+241
Open vSwitch is a multilayer Ethernet switch targeted at virtualized environments. In addition to supporting a variety of features expected in a traditional hardware switch, it enables fine-grained programmatic extension and flow-based control of the network. This control is useful in a wide variety of applications but is particularly important in multi-server virtualization deployments, which are often characterized by highly dynamic endpoints and the need to maintain logical abstractions for multiple tenants. The Open vSwitch datapath provides an in-kernel fast path for packet forwarding. It is complemented by a userspace daemon, ovs-vswitchd, which is able to accept configuration from a variety of sources and translate it into packet processing rules. See http://openvswitch.org for more information and userspace utilities. Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com>
