commit 870a9e42ecc6fe1b8c25d87af043cb0d9c178fe1 upstream.
tcp_select_initial_window() assumes that callers never pass an MSS
smaller than 1, but route-derived advmss values can violate that
assumption.
A too-small explicit RTAX_ADVMSS is one way to get there, but it is not
the only one. The same divide-by-zero can also be reached through the
"default advmss" path when RTAX_ADVMSS is left at 0 and the effective
advmss is later driven down by route MTU and min_adv_mss.
Introduce a tcp_dst_advmss() helper that clamps route advmss to
TCP_MIN_MSS before TCP consumes it, and use it in the TCP paths that
derive advmss from dst metrics. This keeps the effective MSS from
dropping to zero before tcp_select_initial_window() rounds the receive
window.

commit 2640e64195948a601430d230c9864f5426574cde upstream.
The MSS a host puts in its SYN tells the peer how big a segment it may
send us. Right now we can shrink it with a PMTU we learned on our own
send path, which is the wrong direction entirely.
On asymmetric paths this bites - think DSR load balancers, where the
request side goes through a smaller-MTU overlay. We learn a small PMTU
going out, then advertise a small MSS, and the peer stays capped for the
whole connection even though its path back to us is wide. MSS only shows
up in the SYN and never grows back.
On symmetric paths we lose nothing by dropping it either: the peer runs
its own PMTU discovery and usually already knows the real path MTU.
So work out the advertised MSS from the configured route or device MTU
and ignore the learned PMTU. Our send side is unchanged, still clamped by
tcp_current_mss(). Add ip_dst_mtu_configured()/ip6_dst_mtu_configured()
and use them from the two default_advmss() paths.

commit da4471557f279d0f56605158a625bb6e49ef7d41 upstream.
tcp_inbound_ao_hash() is called before bh_lock_sock_nested() is taken,
with only rcu_read_lock() held. On the fast path for established
sockets, if the rnext_keyid sent by the peer differs from
current_key->sndid, the key the peer asked for is looked up and stored
in current_key. The lookup is inside the RCU read side, but current_key
outlives it.
When the socket is disconnected and connect() is called again for
another peer, tcp_ao_connect_init() unlinks every key that does not
match the new peer and frees it with call_rcu(). If current_key points
at such a key, it is cleared to NULL.
The fast path reads sk_state only once on entry, so a softirq that got
into it while the socket was still established can update current_key
after that loop has already run. The update is inside the RCU read side,
so it comes before the call_rcu() callback, and once the callback frees
the key, current_key is left pointing at freed memory.
The next transmission picks that pointer up in tcp_get_current_key().
tcp_ao_transmit_skb() then reads the traffic key from the freed object,
which is the use-after-free.
Wait for one grace period before unlinking, and only if a key is going
to be removed. By the time tcp_connect() runs the socket is already in
TCP_SYN_SENT, and TCP_AO_ESTABLISHED does not contain TCPF_SYN_SENT, so
a softirq entering after the wait cannot reach the fast path, and the
ones already in it have finished. The existing NULL handling in the loop
is then enough.

commit ea30dc5267e367b8a5e1e06cc074f813bcbf18b2 upstream.
tcp_v4_connect() adds a SYN-SENT socket to the ehash before calling
tcp_connect(). If TCP-AO is configured, tcp_connect() first verifies that
a key matches the peer and the bound device's current L3 master.
tcp_ao_connect_init() later resolves the L3 master again and removes keys
which do not match it.
The socket lock does not stabilize the bound device's VRF membership.
Detaching the device from its VRF between the initial validation and the
L3-master calculation in tcp_ao_connect_init() can therefore make the
validation succeed while initialization observes the default L3 domain and
removes the only key. The subsequent AO lookup then fails, so the no-key
path clears tp->ao_info and frees it directly.
The receive path can find the socket in the ehash and load tp->ao_info
under RCU before acquiring the socket lock. A reader which loaded the old
pointer can thus continue into tcp_inbound_ao_hash() after the direct free.
The issue was found during a static audit of TCP-AO object lifetime. An
unprivileged reproducer in self-created user and network namespaces raced
connect() with detaching a veth from its VRF while sending TCP-AO segments.
It triggered the same KASAN report on two fresh boots:

KASAN reports respectively. With this change, the same reproducer reached
the no-key path 366 times in 1000 attempts without a KASAN report or oops.
Use tcp_ao_destroy_sock() for the no-key path. It unpublishes the AO info,
updates the socket memory and static-key accounting, and defers the free
until after an RCU grace period.
Also drop the WARN_ON_ONCE() and its stale comment. The VRF detach race
makes the no-key state reachable during normal operation, so it is a
handled condition rather than an impossible assertion. On panic_on_warn
kernels the WARN would turn this handled race into a kernel panic.

commit 94ad9e114a1c7b16ea418c1456ac3835e038ab3f upstream.
TCP-AO keys with TCP_AO_KEYF_IFINDEX store the VRF L3 interface index in
l3index. tcp_ao_del_cmd() validates the supplied ifindex, but does not
assign it to its local l3index before matching keys.
As a result, deleting a key scoped to a non-default VRF always fails with
ENOENT because it is matched against l3index 0.

commit d5dc1e69fd7258ea605c9952e5d5947539159ae3 upstream.
A virtio_net_hdr (tun/tap, or AF_PACKET with PACKET_VNET_HDR) can mark
an IPv4 or IPv6 fragment as GSO; nothing relates gso_type to frag_off.
inet_frag_reasm_prepare()/inet_frag_reasm_finish() keep the first
fragment's skb as the head of the reassembled datagram, including its
shinfo->gso_size/gso_type/gso_segs, and chain the remaining fragments
on frag_list with whatever linear/paged layout they arrived with.
After ip_defrag() (ip_local_deliver(), nf_defrag_ipv4, ...) the
reassembled skb therefore still claims to be GSO (SKB_GSO_DODGY), and
the next software segmentation point - udp_rcv_segment() on local
delivery, validate_xmit_skb(), or the ip_finish_output_gso() slow
path - hands it to skb_segment(). skb_segment()'s frag_list walk
assumes GRO-shaped input and hits one of its BUG_ON()s. Two writes to
a tap by an unprivileged user in its own userns are enough:

Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt
This runs with BH disabled, so it is a panic rather than an oops. The
same is reachable with CAP_NET_RAW in a netns where a defrag point
precedes a GSO point, and from a guest whose VMM forwards
virtio_net_hdr to a tap. The SKB_GSO_DODGY frag_list checks added by
commit 3dcbdb134f32 ("net: gso: Fix skb_segment splat when splitting
gso_size mangled skb having linear-headed frag_list") and by
commit 9e4b7a99a03a ("net: gso: fix panic on frag_list with mixed head
alloc types") do not cover it: page-backed heads skip them, and kmalloc
heads skip them when gso_size == skb_headlen(head), which the sender
controls.
An skb entering a frag queue is an IP fragment by definition and
cannot legitimately carry GSO state: GRO does not merge fragments and
the stack segments before it fragments, so only untrusted sources are
affected. This has been reachable since
commit f43798c27684 ("tun: Allow GSO using virtio_net_hdr"), the first
path that let userspace attach GSO metadata to an IP fragment. Reset
the GSO fields of every fragment as it is queued, in
inet_frag_queue_insert(), which IPv4, IPv6, nf_conntrack_reasm and
6lowpan reassembly share; then neither the head nor the frag_list
members of the reassembled skb carry them (the members matter too:
the ip_do_fragment()/ip6_fragment() fast paths send them out as they
are). The head may remain CHECKSUM_PARTIAL; that is already accepted
on receive and resolved by skb_checksum_help() in
ip_do_fragment()/ip6_fragment() on forward.
Tested on top of net.git (dc4b95b8fee9), x86_64: the tap reproducer
above, two further IPv4 frag_list geometries that reach
BUG_ON(i >= nfrags) and BUG_ON(!list_skb->head_frag), and an IPv6
fragment-header variant (udp6_ufo_fragment()) each panic the unpatched
kernel; with this patch all four datagrams are delivered intact and
nothing is logged.

commit c0726f0caf8c6b3208552949e17d23634a2f3129 upstream.
ip_do_fragment() subtracts the IPv4 header length from the effective
MTU and passes the resulting payload MTU to ip_frag_next().
If the effective MTU is smaller than hlen + 8, ip_frag_next() rounds
the fragment payload length down to zero. The fragmentation state then
never makes forward progress: state->left, state->ptr and state->offset
stay unchanged while ip_do_fragment() keeps allocating and transmitting
header-only fragments until the softlockup detector fires.
This is reproducible with a route installed using "mtu lock 20", but it
is also reproducible without route MTU lock, for example by forwarding a
packet to a device whose MTU is 20.
Fix it in ip_do_fragment() by rejecting mtu < hlen + 8 with -EMSGSIZE,
matching the existing IPv6 fragmentation check.

reclamation, but would still allow concurrent writers to leave a mixed

Walk the table under RCU and acquire fnhe_lock only while updating each
exception. RCU keeps the current entry alive while the short critical
section serializes its paired PMTU fields. This avoids holding the global

On cross-region connections we observed delayed ACKs suddenly turning
into immediate ACKs plus a TCP_MAX_QUICKACKS burst, as if the
connection had just received its first data segment.
Commit 95b9a87c6a6b ("tcp: record last received ipv6 flowlabel")
squeezed icsk_ack.ato into 8 bits, sized for TCP_DELACK_MAX. But both
writers still bound ato by icsk_rto, which can be well above 255
jiffies, so the bitfield assignment silently wraps mod 256: repeated
delack timer misses double ato up to icsk_rto, storing 320 as 64 and
256 as 0, and ato == 0 is the "first data packet" sentinel in
tcp_event_data_recv().
Clamp both writers to TCP_DELACK_MAX, which the static_assert already
guarantees to fit and tcp_send_delayed_ack() effectively caps ato at
anyway.

A listener's TCP_FASTOPEN max_qlen stops being accurate and lets through
far more pending Fast Open requests than it was configured for.
This only shows up with SO_REUSEPORT listener migration, where closing a
listener hands its still-pending TFO children over to a surviving one.
fastopenq.qlen is charged in tcp_fastopen_create_child() when the child
is created and uncharged in reqsk_fastopen_remove() when the handshake
completes. The uncharge follows rsk_listener of the request the child
points at, and inet_reqsk_clone() has repointed the child at a new
request owned by the new listener, so the ++ and the -- land on two
different sockets. The new listener's qlen drifts negative and its
limit no longer binds.
Charge the new listener during migration, like reqsk_queue_migrated()
already does for queue->young and queue->qlen.

fib_nlmsg_size() still estimates nexthop space as if every gateway is
encoded as an IPv4 RTA_GATEWAY attribute. IPv4 routes can also carry an
IPv6 gateway, which fib_nexthop_info() dumps as RTA_VIA.
As a result, route notifications can allocate an skb that is too small.
fib_dump_info() then fails with -EMSGSIZE and rtmsg_fib() hits the
WARN_ON() that marks such failures as a fib_nlmsg_size() bug. With
panic_on_warn set, this becomes a kernel panic.
Mirror the actual nexthop dump layout in fib_nlmsg_size(): account for

Commit f5da7c45188e ("tcp: adjust rcvq_space after updating scaling
ratio") replaced the direct window_clamp update in tcp_measure_rcv_mss()
with a call to tcp_set_window_clamp(), a helper that implements the
TCP_WINDOW_CLAMP setsockopt. As a side effect, the helper also shrinks
rcv_ssthresh via __tcp_adjust_rcv_ssthresh().
As a result, each scaling_ratio decrease detected by
tcp_measure_rcv_mss() also cuts rcv_ssthresh. Elsewhere in TCP,
rcv_ssthresh is usually cut under memory pressure and grows via
tcp_grow_window().
Flows whose segment sizes vary keep scaling_ratio oscillating, which
leads to an unstable rcv_ssthresh: a dip of rcv_ssthresh only recovers
via tcp_grow_window(), keeping the advertised window at a relatively
low level even after the ratio itself has recovered, and can even stall
the sender.
Observed on a customer's proxy gateway after upgrading from kernel 6.1
to 6.12: in the worst case, rcv_ssthresh was cut in half by a
scaling_ratio dip. P99 latency jumped from <10ms on 6.1 to ~100ms on
6.12, and almost returned to the 6.1 level with this patch applied.
Restore the plain WRITE_ONCE() update of window_clamp, as introduced
in commit a2cbb1603943 ("tcp: Update window clamping condition"), and
keep the rcvq_space.space adjustment. Now rcv_ssthresh is decoupled from
scaling_ratio changes in tcp_measure_rcv_mss().

reqsk_queue_hash_req() publishes a TCP_NEW_SYN_RECV request_sock onto
the ehash chain, drops the bucket lock, and only afterwards sets
rsk_refcnt to 3.
Lockless readers such as __inet_lookup_established() handle this with
refcount_inc_not_zero(), but bpf_iter_tcp_established_batch() uses plain
sock_hold() while holding the bucket lock, on the assumption that the
lock guarantees sk_refcnt > 0. That assumption does not hold for
request_sock:

The iterator's stolen reference is lost when the publishing CPU's
refcount_set() overwrites the count, leaving the socket one reference
short. When the last legitimate owner drops its reference the reqsk is
freed while still reachable, leading to use-after-free.
This reproduces in seconds with tcp_syncookies=0, a handful of threads
doing connect()/close() to a local listener while others read an
iter/tcp link in a tight loop.
Use refcount_inc_not_zero() and skip the socket on failure. A skipped
socket is still part of the bucket, so keep counting it in expected.
The reallocations are sized from expected, and a request sock whose
refcount gets published while the lock is held across the last realloc
must already have room.
A skipped socket is counted in expected but never batched, so end_sk
can be short of expected on a batch that is actually complete. Decide
completeness by whether the walk left any socket behind instead. The
WARN after the locked realloc checks the same, replacing an
end_sk == expected check that could not hold on that path since
commit cdec67a489d4 ("bpf: tcp: Make sure iter->batch always
contains a full bucket snapshot").
If every matching socket in a bucket is mid-init (refcount 0), end_sk
stays 0. Advance to the next bucket rather than returning a batch entry
that was never filled this round.

sk_psock_msg_verdict() takes a socket reference for psock->sk_redir.
tcp_bpf_send_verdict() copies that pointer while holding the source socket
lock, but does not take a reference for the local copy before dropping the
lock around tcp_bpf_sendmsg_redir().
When apply_bytes keeps the cached verdict active, another sendmsg() on the
same source socket can consume the remaining bytes and release the cached
reference while the first thread still holds only the raw local pointer:
CPU 0 CPU 1
sk_redir = psock->sk_redir
apply_bytes remains nonzero
release_sock(sk)
lock_sock(sk)
apply_bytes reaches zero
psock->sk_redir = NULL
release_sock(sk)
tcp_bpf_sendmsg_redir(sk_redir)
sock_put(sk_redir)
tcp_bpf_sendmsg_redir(sk_redir)
The final sock_put() can free sk_redir before CPU 0 dereferences it.

inet_frag_create() arms the fragment queue timer before inserting the
queue into the fqdir rhashtable. If the namespace fragment timeout is
zero or negative, the timer can run before the queue is published.
The timer callback then marks the queue complete, tries to remove a node
that is not in the hash table yet, and drops the anticipated hash
reference. Creation can subsequently publish the completed queue without
restoring that reference, leaving a stale hash node after the caller drops
the remaining reference.
Publish the queue first and arm the timer while holding the queue lock.
This makes timer expiry wait until the queue is visible in the hash table,
so inet_frag_kill() can remove the node and balance the hash reference.

syzbot reported a memory leak [1] in the UDP tunnel NIC offload code.
When device registration fails (e.g. in register_netdevice()), netdev core
unwinds by sending a single NETDEV_UNREGISTER notification. If work was queued
during NETDEV_REGISTER (utn->work_pending is set), udp_tunnel_nic_unregister()
returns early:
if (utn->work_pending)
return;
Because failed registrations do not enter netdev_wait_allrefs_any(), no
subsequent NETDEV_UNREGISTER rebroadcast will ever occur. As a result, the
struct udp_tunnel_nic allocated in udp_tunnel_nic_alloc() is leaked
permanently.
Fix this by removing the early return. Instead, synchronously cancel any
pending work with cancel_delayed_work_sync() before freeing @utn.
To be able to call cancel_delayed_work_sync() while holding RTNL (the work also
needs RTNL), switch udp_tunnel_nic_device_sync_work() to rtnl_trylock(). If RTNL
is contended, requeue the work with a 1 jiffy delay (via queue_delayed_work())
to prevent high CPU contention while waiting for RTNL lock.
The utn->work_pending bookkeeping is no longer needed and is removed, as
the workqueue core already tracks the pending/running state of the work.

fou_create() publishes struct fou through sk_user_data before adding the
new FOU port to the per-netns list. If fou_add_to_port_list() fails,
the error path frees fou while it is still reachable through
sk_user_data. A concurrent receive can then dereference the freed
object in fou_from_sock().
This ordering issue was previously noted in the linked discussion.
The failure is reachable when local port 0 is requested. Each socket
binds to a different ephemeral port, but fou_cfg_cmp() compares the
requested port 0 and reports -EALREADY once an entry already exists.
Release the tunnel socket before freeing fou so sk_user_data is cleared
first, and defer reclamation with kfree_rcu() to protect concurrent RCU
readers. This matches the lifetime handling in fou_release().

When inet_getpeer_v4() or inet_getpeer_v6() fails to allocate a peer entry
under memory pressure or tree size caps, redirect handlers previously fell
back to sending un-rate-limited ICMP/NDISC Redirect messages.
In IPv4, ip_rt_send_redirect() called icmp_send() directly when peer == NULL.
In IPv6, ip6_forward() and ndisc_send_redirect() passed a NULL peer into
inet_peer_xrlim_allow(), which returned true when peer == NULL.
Because ICMP/NDISC Redirects are not part of the default global rate limit
mask (sysctl_icmp_ratemask), sending redirects when peer == NULL creates
an un-rate-limited ICMP packet storm.
Fix this by failing closed in ip_rt_send_redirect(), ip6_forward(), and
ndisc_send_redirect() when peer is NULL.

Netfilter/IPVS fixes for net
The following batch contains Netfilter/IPVS fixes for net. This batch
includes a mix of IPVS follow ups related to Sashiko reports, as well as
crash fixes for connection tracking expectation, helpers, ipset and
nf_tables mostly for old bugs. This also includes a fix for the
flowtable tunnel selftest.
1) Use s32 instead of s16 to calculate the remaining payload containing
SIP messages, otherwise underflow is possible allowing out-of-bound
memory access beyond the skb->data area. From Xiang Mei.
2) Fix the counter check in the flowtable selftest for tunnels, from
Lorenzo Bianconi.
3) Add and use nf_ct_expect_related_pair() to add the RTP and RTCP
expectations under the expectation lock, this is required by the SIP
and H.323 NAT helpers. This fixes a possible reinsertion of an
expectation with the DEAD flag set on while looping to find
consecutive ports.
4) Fix ipset UaF during table resize by blocking comment updates on
kernel-side adds. From David Lee.
5) Do not propagate the IP_VS_CONN_F_ONE_PACKET flag when using IPVS
state synchronization, otherwise reaching stale freed from
ip_vs_conn struct is possible, Zhiling Zou.
6) Adjust the hn1 hash node when the forwarding method changes between
MASQ and non-MASQ for an already hashed connection. This can leave
stale hash nodes pointing to a freed struct ip_vs_conn and trigger
UaF while reading /proc/net/ip_vs_conn. From Julian Anastasov.
7) nft_object rhltable needs to be per table, just like chain rhltable,
otherwise UaF from object lookup path while netns is being released.
There is also the nlevent path that can reach stale objects. Placing
this rhltable under the table hierarchy fixes this issue.
8) Reject invalid combined usage of hashlimit tables with and without
XT_HASHLIMIT_RATE_MATCH flag mode, otherwise access to uninitialized
.burst field of dsthash_ent is possible.
9) Fix checksum validations in IPVS performed from LOCAL_IN,
from Julian Anastasov.
10) Fix incorrect packet offset to layer 4 protocol in IPVS, uncovered
by Sashiko, from Julian Anastasov.
11) Skip the mangling of ICMP replies for non-first fragments, also
reported by Sashiko. Also from Julian.
12) Clear ip_vs_conn flags under the spinlock to fix a possible data
race. From Julian Anastasov.

hardware offload support, leading to UBSAN splat. From Xiang Mei.

tcp_bpf_sendmsg() keeps msg_tx across sk_stream_wait_memory(), which
drops and reacquires the socket lock. Its error path tries to decide
whether msg_tx names the local temporary message by comparing it with
the current value of psock->cork.
This comparison is unsafe when two threads send on the same socket:
Thread A Thread B
msg_tx = psock->cork
sk_msg_alloc() fails
sk_stream_wait_memory()
releases the socket lock acquires the socket lock
completes the cork
psock->cork = NULL
frees the cork
reacquires the socket lock
msg_tx != psock->cork
sk_msg_free(msg_tx)
The stale cork is therefore mistaken for the local temporary message
and freed again. KASAN reported:

fib6_check_nh_list() and __nexthop_replace_notify() walk nh->f6i_list
during an RTNL-serialized nexthop replace without holding nh->lock. IPv6
RTM_NEWROUTE/RTM_DELROUTE run without RTNL and mutate that list under
nh->lock (fib6_add_rt2node_nh(), fib6_purge_rt()), so both walks race a
concurrent route delete that unlinks and frees a fib6_info:

The SYN-RECEIVED request-socket path in tcp_check_req() accepts an
in-window RST without requiring SEG.SEQ to exactly match RCV.NXT. A
non-exact RST therefore removes the request instead of eliciting a
challenge ACK.
RFC 9293 section 3.10.7.4 applies the RFC 5961 reset check in
SYN-RECEIVED: an exact RST resets the connection, while a non-exact
in-window RST must trigger a challenge ACK and be dropped.
Apply that check before the ACK-field validation, following the RFC
sequence-number, RST, then ACK processing order. Factor the per-netns
challenge ACK quota out of tcp_send_challenge_ack() so request sockets
can share it. Use the request socket's send_ack() callback and its own
out-of-window ACK timestamp to send and rate-limit the response.

raw_v4_match() is a lockless match helper under sk_for_each_rcu(). It
still reads inet->inet_daddr, inet->inet_rcv_saddr and
sk->sk_bound_dev_if with plain loads while bind, connect and
bind-to-device paths can update the same match fields concurrently.
Annotate only those mutable match fields in raw_v4_match(), and do so
at the point of use instead of hoisting the bound-device read before
the earlier short-circuit tests.
Also annotate the raw bind writer and the shared IPv4 datagram connect
writer used by raw sockets, so the address fields updated on bind and
connect match explicit WRITE_ONCE() updates.
This version intentionally leaves the shared disconnect-side IPv4
writers to follow-up cleanup and limits the writer changes here to the
raw bind path and the datagram connect path directly exercised by raw
sockets.

When Linux forwards a packet and needs to generate an ICMP error,
icmp_route_lookup() performs a reverse-path relookup. For non-local
destinations, it performs a decoy lookup to find the expected egress
interface (rt2->dst.dev) before validating the path with ip_route_input().
Currently, the decoy flow structure (fl4_2) only sets .daddr = fl4_dec.saddr,
leaving .saddr, .flowi4_dscp, .flowi4_proto, .flowi4_mark, .flowi4_oif,
.fl4_sport, .fl4_dport, and .flowi4_uid zeroed out.
When policy routing rules (such as ip rule add from $SRC lookup 100, or
dscp/fwmark/ipproto/port rules, or VRF bindings) are configured:
1. The decoy lookup fails to match the policy rule because saddr and other
key flow selectors are missing in fl4_2.
2. It resolves a route using the default table instead, returning an incorrect
egress netdev.
3. Passing the wrong netdev to ip_route_input() causes strict reverse-path
filtering (rp_filter=1) to fail, logging false-positive "martian source"
warnings and causing the relookup to fail.
Fix this by initializing fl4_2 from fl4_dec and:
- Swapping source/destination IP addresses.
- Swapping L4 ports for transport protocols with ports (TCP, UDP, SCTP, DCCP)
so port-based policy routing matches correctly. Non-port protocols (such as
ICMP or GRE) leave the flowi_uli union fields intact to prevent corruption.
- Setting .flowi4_oif = l3mdev_master_ifindex(route_lookup_dev) to ensure
VRF routing tables are respected.
- Setting .flowi4_flags |= FLOWI_FLAG_ANYSRC to allow output route lookups
for non-local source IP addresses.
- Using __ip_route_output_key() instead of ip_route_output_key() for fl4_2
so that raw FIB routing is used without triggering spurious XFRM policy
lookups on the decoy flow (the actual XFRM lookup is performed later using
fl4_dec).

Before commit 00d066a4d4ed ("netdev_features: convert NETIF_F_LLTX to
dev->lltx"), NETIF_F_LLTX was set unconditionally in both
__gre_tunnel_init() and ip6gre_tnl_init_features() alongside
GRE_FEATURES:
dev->features |= GRE_FEATURES | NETIF_F_LLTX;
When that commit converted NETIF_F_LLTX to the dev->lltx flag, it
placed 'dev->lltx = true' after the SEQ/CSUM early returns instead
of before them. This causes GRE/GRETAP/ip6gre tunnels with SEQ or
CSUM+encap to lose lockless TX, reintroducing _xmit_lock acquisition
around their ndo_start_xmit. Since GRE xmit re-enters the stack via
ip_tunnel_xmit(), holding _xmit_lock risks ABBA deadlock with the
underlay device.

bpf_iter_tcp_batch() releases the current batch via
bpf_iter_tcp_put_batch(), which drops the socket refs and rewrites
each slot with the socket cookie, then grows the batch. cur_sk/end_sk
are kept for bpf_iter_tcp_resume(), but on realloc failure the function
returns ERR_PTR() before resume runs, leaving cur_sk < end_sk over
slots that now hold cookies rather than sock pointers.
bpf_iter_tcp_seq_stop() then calls bpf_iter_tcp_put_batch() again and
dereferences a cookie as a struct sock.
Empty the batch on the failure path so stop() does not release it
again. The sockets were already freed by the first
bpf_iter_tcp_put_batch(), so nothing leaks, and a later read() rescans
the bucket from the start instead of skipping it. The sibling
GFP_NOWAIT failure path still holds real socket references and is left
for stop() to release.

Add a new function to insert a pair of expectations, this is required by
the SIP and H323 NAT helpers. The spinlock is held to check if there is
a slot for both expectations, in such case, insert them.
This removes the need for nf_ct_unexpect_related() inside the loop to
find a pair of consecutive ports, otherwise inserting expectations whose
dead flag is already set on can happen.
Bump master_help->expecting for the expectation class after checking if
the expectation fits in the master expectation list, which is needed for
this new _pair() function variant to run the eviction routine including
the preallocated slot for the first expectation in the pair.

tcp_v4_send_ack() and tcp_v6_send_response() construct standalone TCP
responses with TCP-AO options. The option length carries the actual MAC
length, but the TCP header length includes the option rounded up to a
four-byte boundary.
tcp_ao_hash_hdr() writes the MAC only. Thus, when the MAC length is not
four-byte aligned, the one to three bytes after the MAC are left
uninitialized and may be transmitted. For the normal TCP-AO hashing
mode, those bytes also have to be initialized before computing the MAC.
Initialize only the alignment padding in the TCP-AO branches, before
hashing the header. Use TCPOPT_NOP, as in the normal TCP-AO output path.
This avoids adding work to non-AO TCP responses while preserving a valid
authenticated header.

tcp_bpf_ioctl() answers SIOCINQ from psock->msg_tot_len, which only
counts bytes in ingress_msg. Without a stream/skb verdict program
nothing is diverted there: data stays in sk_receive_queue, so FIONREAD
returns 0 even though read() returns data.
Add tcp_inq() to the reported value when the psock has no verdict
program. The two queues are disjoint, so bytes redirected into
ingress_msg from other sockets stay correctly accounted through
msg_tot_len.

fib_table_insert() publishes new_fa into the leaf's fa_list with
fib_insert_alias() before calling the fib entry notifiers. When a

When a timer is deleted and not re-armed in igmp_mod_timer(), or stopped
in igmp_stop_timer(), the code currently decrements the reference counter
of the multicast list entry @im using refcount_dec(&im->refcnt).
However, both functions can be called from the RCU reader path:
- igmp_mod_timer() via igmp_heard_query() -> for_each_pmc_rcu()
- igmp_stop_timer() via igmp_rcv() -> igmp_heard_report()
If the group im was concurrently removed from the list by ip_mc_dec_group(),
its reference count might have already been decremented to 1.
In this case, timer_delete() succeeds, and refcount_dec() decrements
the refcount from 1 to 0. Since refcount_dec() does not free the object
when it hits 0 (unlike ip_ma_put()), the im structure is leaked.
Fix this by using ip_ma_put(im) instead of refcount_dec(&im->refcnt),
and deferring the put until after the spinlock is released.

A race condition exists between device teardown (inetdev_destroy) and
incoming IGMP query processing (igmp_rcv), leading to a Use-After-Free
in the IGMP timer callback.
During device destruction, inetdev_destroy() drops the primary reference
to in_device, which can drop its refcount to 0. The actual freeing of
in_device memory is deferred via RCU (using call_rcu()).
Concurrently, igmp_rcv() runs under RCU read lock and obtains the
in_device pointer. Because the memory is RCU-protected, CPU-0 can safely
dereference in_device even if its refcount has hit 0.
However, if CPU-0 calls igmp_gq_start_timer() and re-arms the timer, it
attempts to acquire a reference using in_dev_hold(). This increments the
refcount from 0 to 1, triggering a "refcount_t: addition on 0" warning.
Since the in_device memory is still scheduled to be freed after the RCU
grace period (as the free callback does not check the refcount again),
the device is freed while the timer is still armed. When the timer
expires, it accesses the freed memory, causing a kernel panic.
Fix this by using refcount_inc_not_zero() (via a new helper
in_dev_hold_safe()) to prevent acquiring a reference if the device is
already being destroyed. If the refcount is 0, we do not arm the timer.
A similar issue in IPv6 MLD is fixed in a subsequent patch.

them for RCU reclamation. However, they are not unlinked from the device's
multicast hash table (mc_hash).
Since the device remains published in dev->ip_ptr until after
ip_mc_destroy_dev() completes, concurrent RCU readers traversing mc_hash
can still locate and access the multicast group after its refcount is
decremented. If the RCU callback runs and frees the group while a reader is
accessing it, a use-after-free occurs.
Fix this by unlinking the multicast group from mc_hash using
ip_mc_hash_remove() before scheduling it for reclamation.

In case of early freeing an unwanted TCP-MD5 key on TCP-AO connect(),
md5sig_info is freed right away (and set to NULL). Later, at
the moment of socket destruction, the static branch counter
is not getting decremented.
Add a missing decrement for TCP-MD5 static branch.

The md5+ao reconciliation in tcp_connect() (net/ipv4/tcp_output.c)
has two symmetric branches:
if (needs_md5) {
tcp_ao_destroy_sock(sk, false);
} else if (needs_ao) {
tcp_clear_md5_list(sk);
kfree(rcu_replace_pointer(tp->md5sig_info, NULL, ...));
}
Both branches free a per-socket auth-info object while the socket is
in TCP_SYN_SENT and is already on the inet ehash (inserted by
inet_hash_connect() in tcp_v4_connect()). Both branches are reachable
by softirq RX-path readers that load the corresponding info pointer
via implicit RCU before bh_lock_sock_nested() is taken.
The needs_md5 branch is fixed in the prior patch by re-introducing
the call_rcu() free in tcp_ao_destroy_sock(): the equivalent per-key
loop runs inside tcp_ao_info_free_rcu(), the RCU callback, so by the
time it frees each tcp_ao_key all softirq readers that captured the
container have already completed rcu_read_unlock().
The needs_ao branch is not symmetric in the same way. The container
free can be deferred via kfree_rcu(md5sig, rcu) -- struct
tcp_md5sig_info already has the required rcu member
(include/net/tcp.h:1999-2002), and the rest of the tree already does
this in the tcp_md5sig_info_add() rollback paths
(net/ipv4/tcp_ipv4.c:1410, 1436). But the per-key teardown is done
by tcp_clear_md5_list() in process context BEFORE the container's
RCU grace period: it walks &md5sig->head and frees each
tcp_md5sig_key with bare hlist_del + kfree. A concurrent softirq
reader in __tcp_md5_do_lookup() / __tcp_md5_do_lookup_exact()
(tcp_ipv4.c:1253, 1298) walks the same list via
hlist_for_each_entry_rcu() and races with that bare kfree on the
keys themselves -- a per-key slab use-after-free of the same class
as the TCP-AO bug, on the same race window.
Fix this in two halves:
1. Convert the bare kfree() in tcp_connect() to kfree_rcu() so the
md5sig_info container joins the rest of the md5sig lifecycle.
The local-variable lift is mechanical and required because
kfree_rcu() is a macro that expects an lvalue.
2. Make tcp_clear_md5_list() RCU-safe by replacing hlist_del +
kfree(key) with hlist_del_rcu + kfree_rcu(key, rcu). struct
tcp_md5sig_key already carries the rcu member
(include/net/tcp.h:1995) and tcp_md5_do_del()
(net/ipv4/tcp_ipv4.c:1456) already uses kfree_rcu, so this
restores the lifecycle invariant the rest of the file follows
rather than introducing a one-off.
The other caller of tcp_clear_md5_list() is tcp_md5_destruct_sock()
(net/ipv4/tcp.c:412), which runs from the sock destructor when the
socket is already unhashed and unreachable; the extra grace period
there is unnecessary but harmless. Making the helper unconditionally
RCU-safe is the cleaner contract.
The needs_ao branch is not reachable by the userns reproducer used
to demonstrate the AO-side splat (the repro installs both keys but
ends up in the needs_md5 branch because the connect peer matches
the MD5 key, not the AO key); however the symmetric race exists
and a maintainer touching this code should not have to think about
which branch escapes RCU and which one does not.

Commit 51e547e8c89c ("tcp: Free TCP-AO/TCP-MD5 info/keys without RCU")
removed the call_rcu() callback from tcp_ao_destroy_sock(), arguing that
"the destruction of info/keys is delayed until the socket destructor"
and therefore "no one can discover it anymore".
That argument does not hold for the call site in tcp_connect()
(net/ipv4/tcp_output.c:4327-4332). At that point the socket is in
TCP_SYN_SENT, has already been inserted into the inet ehash by
inet_hash_connect() in tcp_v4_connect(), and is therefore very much
discoverable: any softirq running tcp_v4_rcv() on another CPU can take
the socket out of the ehash, walk into tcp_inbound_hash(), and load
tp->ao_info via implicit RCU before bh_lock_sock_nested() is taken on
the destroying CPU.
The reader path then enters __tcp_ao_do_lookup() (net/ipv4/tcp_ao.c:208)
which re-loads tp->ao_info via rcu_dereference_check(); the re-load can
still observe the (about-to-be-freed) pointer because there is no
synchronize_rcu() between rcu_assign_pointer(tp->ao_info, NULL) and
tcp_ao_info_free() in tcp_ao_destroy_sock(). The captured pointer is
then walked at line 223:
hlist_for_each_entry_rcu(key, &ao->head, node, ...)
The writer's synchronous kfree() is free to complete between the line
218 re-fetch and the line 223 hlist iteration. The slab is reused
(or simply LIST_POISON1-stamped if not yet reused) and the iteration
walks attacker-controlled or poison memory in softirq context.
Reproducer (no debug shim, stock x86_64 v7.1-rc2 SMP+KASAN, QEMU+KVM):
an unprivileged uid=1000 process inside CLONE_NEWUSER|CLONE_NEWNET
installs TCP_MD5SIG + TCP_AO_ADD_KEY on a TCP socket, sprays forged
TCP-AO segments toward its eventual 4-tuple via raw sockets, then
calls connect(). The md5-wins reconciliation in tcp_connect() fires
tcp_ao_destroy_sock(); the softirq backlog reader on the loopback
NAPI path crashes on the freed ao->head.first walk:

Restore the RCU grace period: re-add struct rcu_head to tcp_ao_info
and replace the synchronous tcp_ao_info_free() with a call_rcu()
callback. Readers that captured tp->ao_info before rcu_assign_pointer
NULLed it now see the object remain valid until rcu_read_unlock().
With the patch applied the reproducer runs cleanly for 2000 iterations
on the same kernel build.

Yue Sun reported a use-after-free and debugobjects warning in
udp_tunnel_nic_device_sync_work() during concurrent device operations.
The workqueue core clears the internal pending bit before invoking the
worker. At that point, a concurrent thread can queue the work again.
When the already running worker eventually clears the work_pending flag
to 0, it mistakenly clears the flag for the newly queued instance.
udp_tunnel_nic_unregister() then observes work_pending as 0 and frees
the structure while the second work item is still active in the queue,
leading to UAF.
Fix this by returning early in udp_tunnel_nic_device_sync() if
work_pending is already set, preventing redundant work queueing.

In tcp_ao_delete_key(), the del_async path skips the current_key
and rnext_key validity checks present in the synchronous path,
assuming these pointers are always NULL on LISTEN sockets. However,
if a key was added with set_current=1/set_rnext=1 while the socket
was in CLOSE state, current_key and rnext_key will be non-NULL
after listen() transitions the socket to LISTEN.
When such a key is deleted with del_async=1, hlist_del_rcu() and
call_rcu() free the key without clearing the dangling pointers.
After the RCU grace period, getsockopt(TCP_AO_INFO) dereferences
current_key->sndid and rnext_key->rcvid from freed slab memory.
Clear current_key and rnext_key in the del_async path when they
reference the key being deleted.

====================
pull request (net): ipsec 2026-06-22
1) xfrm: use compat translator only for u64 alignment mismatch
Gate the XFRM_USER_COMPAT translator on COMPAT_FOR_U64_ALIGNMENT
so 32-bit compat tasks on arches whose 32-bit ABI already matches
the native 64-bit layout are no longer rejected with -EOPNOTSUPP.
From Sanman Pradhan.
2) net: af_key: initialize alg_key_len for IPComp states
Initialize the alg_key_len to 0 in the IPComp branch of
pfkey_msg2xfrm_state() so an uninitialized value cannot drive
xfrm_alg_len() into a slab-out-of-bounds kmemdup during
XFRM_MSG_MIGRATE. From Zijing Yin.
3) xfrm: Fix dev use-after-free in xfrm async resumption
Stash the original skb->dev and extend the RCU critical section
across xfrm_rcv_cb() and transport_finish() to prevent a
tunnel-device UAF and original-device refcount leak when a
callback replaces skb->dev. From Dong Chenchen.
4) xfrm: Fix xfrm state cache insertion race
Move the state-validity check inside xfrm_state_lock in the
input state cache insertion path so a state cannot be killed
between the check and the insert. From Herbert Xu.
5) xfrm: annotate data-races around xfrm_policy_count[] and xfrm_policy_default[]
Add READ_ONCE()/WRITE_ONCE() annotations on xfrm_policy_count
and xfrm_policy_default to silence the KCSAN data race reported
on net->xfrm.policy_count. From Eric Dumazet.
6) espintcp: use sk_msg_free_partial to fix partial send
Replace the manual skmsg accounting in espintcp with
sk_msg_free_partial() so the skmsg stays consistent on every
iteration and the partial-send accounting bugs go away.
From Sabrina Dubroca.
7) xfrm: validate selector family and prefixlen during match
Reject mismatched address families in xfrm_selector_match() and
bound prefixlen in addr4_match()/addr_match() to prevent the
shift-out-of-bounds syzbot reported when an AF_UNSPEC selector
with a large prefixlen is matched against an IPv4 flow.
