2012-03-08TTY: serialP, remove DECLARE_WAITQUEUE checkJiri Slaby1-6/+0
The macro is always defined now. This was there only for historical reasons. Signed-off-by: Jiri Slaby <jslaby@suse.cz> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2012-03-08TTY: tty_driver, document tty->ops->shutdown limitationJiri Slaby1-0/+2
Note that tty->ops->shutdown is called from whatever context the user drops the last tty reference from. E.g. if one takes a reference in an ISR, tty close happens on other CPU and the final tty put is from the ISR, tty->ops->shutdown will be called from that hard irq context. We would have a problem in vt if we start using tty refcounting from other contexts than user there. It is because vt's shutdown uses mutexes. This is yet to be fixed. 2012-03-08TTY: remove minor_num from tty_driverJiri Slaby1-1/+0
It was added back in 2004 and never used for anything real. Remove the only assignment in the tree as well. Signed-off-by: Jiri Slaby <jslaby@suse.cz> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2012-03-08TTY: let alloc_tty_driver deduce the owner automaticallyJiri Slaby1-1/+4
Like the rest of the kernel, make a stub from alloc_tty_driver which calls __alloc_tty_driver with proper owner. This will save us one more assignment on the driver side. Also this fixes some drivers which didn't set the owner. This allowed user to remove the module from the system even though a tty from the driver is still open. 2012-03-08vt:tackle kbd_tableAlan Cox3-8/+24
Keyboard struct lifetime is easy, but the locking is not and is completely ignored by the existing code. Tackle this one head on - Make the kbd_table private so we can run down all direct users - Hoick the relevant ioctl handlers into the keyboard layer - Lock them with the keyboard lock so they don't change mid keypress - Add helpers for things like console stop/start so we isolate the poking around properly - Tweak the braille console so it still builds There are a couple of FIXME locking cases left for ioctls that are so hideous they should be addressed in a later patch. After this patch the kbd_table is private and all the keyboard jiggery pokery is in one place. This update fixes speakup and also a memory leak in the original. 2012-03-08KVM: Allow host IRQ sharing for assigned PCI 2.3 devicesJan Kiszka2-0/+8
PCI 2.3 allows to generically disable IRQ sources at device level. This enables us to share legacy IRQs of such devices with other host devices when passing them to a guest. The new IRQ sharing feature introduced here is optional, user space has to request it explicitly. Moreover, user space can inform us about its view of PCI_COMMAND_INTX_DISABLE so that we can avoid unmasking the interrupt and signaling it if the guest masked it via the virtualized PCI config space. 2012-03-08KVM: Ensure all vcpus are consistent with in-kernel irqchip settingsAvi Kivity1-0/+7
If some vcpus are created before KVM_CREATE_IRQCHIP, then irqchip_in_kernel() and vcpu->arch.apic will be inconsistent, leading to potential NULL pointer dereferences. Fix by: - ensuring that no vcpus are installed when KVM_CREATE_IRQCHIP is called - ensuring that a vcpu has an apic if it is installed after KVM_CREATE_IRQCHIP This is somewhat long winded because vcpu->arch.apic is created without kvm->lock held. 2012-03-08spi: create a message queueing infrastructureLinus Walleij1-0/+51
This rips the message queue in the PL022 driver out and pushes it into (optional) common infrastructure. Drivers that want to use the message pumping thread will need to define the new per-messags transfer methods and leave the deprecated transfer() method as NULL. Most of the design is described in the documentation changes that are included in this patch. Since there is a queue that need to be stopped when the system is suspending/resuming, two new calls are implemented for the device drivers to call in their suspend()/resume() functions: spi_master_suspend() and spi_master_resume(). ChangeLog v1->v2: - Remove Kconfig entry and do not make the queue support optional at all, instead be more agressive and have it as part of the compulsory infrastructure. - If the .transfer() method is implemented, delete print a small deprecation notice and do not start the transfer pump. - Fix a bitrotted comment. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/ohad/remoteproc into next/rpmsg Fixing and cleaning up several remoteproc and rpmsg issues. In addition, remoteproc's resource table is converted to a collection of type-value members, instead of a rigid array of homogeneous structs. This enables remoteproc to support registration of generic virtio devices, and not only a single VIRTIO_ID_RPMSG virtio device. But perhaps more importantly, the resource table overhaul makes it possible to easily extend it in the future without breaking older images (simply by defining a new member type, while continuing to support older types). * tag 'rpmsg-fixes-and-more-for-3.4' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/ohad/remoteproc: remoteproc: cleanup resource table parsing paths remoteproc: remove the hardcoded vring alignment remoteproc/omap: remove the mbox_callback limitation remoteproc: remove the single rpmsg vdev limitation remoteproc: safer boot/shutdown order remoteproc: remoteproc_rpmsg -> remoteproc_virtio remoteproc: resource table overhaul rpmsg: fix build warning when dma_addr_t is 64-bit rpmsg: fix published buffer length in rpmsg_recv_done rpmsg: validate incoming message length before propagating rpmsg: fix name service endpoint leak remoteproc/omap: two Kconfig fixes remoteproc: make sure we're parsing a 32bit firmware
2012-03-07netfilter: xt_CT: allow to attach timeout policy + glue codePablo Neira Ayuso1-0/+12
This patch allows you to attach the timeout policy via the CT target, it adds a new revision of the target to ensure backward compatibility. Moreover, it also contains the glue code to stick the timeout object defined via nfnetlink_cttimeout to the given flow. Example usage (it requires installing the nfct tool and libnetfilter_cttimeout): 1) create the timeout policy: nfct timeout add tcp-policy0 inet tcp \ established 1000 close 10 time_wait 10 last_ack 10 2) attach the timeout policy to the packet: iptables -I PREROUTING -t raw -p tcp -j CT --timeout tcp-policy0 You have to install the following user-space software: a) libnetfilter_cttimeout: git://git.netfilter.org/libnetfilter_cttimeout b) nfct: git://git.netfilter.org/nfct You also have to get iptables with -j CT --timeout support. This patch adds the infrastructure to add fine timeout tuning over nfnetlink. Now you can use the NFNL_SUBSYS_CTNETLINK_TIMEOUT subsystem to create/delete/dump timeout objects that contain some specific timeout policy for one flow. 2012-03-07DMA: sa11x0: add SA-11x0 DMA driverRussell King1-0/+24
Add support for the SA-11x0 DMA driver, which replaces the private API version in arch/arm/mach-sa1100/dma.c. We model this as a set of virtual DMA channels, one for each request signal, and assign the virtual DMA channel to a physical DMA channel when there is work to be done. This allows DMA users to claim their channels, and hold them while not in use, without affecting the availability of the physical channels. Another advantage over this approach, compared to the private version, is that a channel can be reconfigured on the fly without having to release and re-request it - which for the IrDA driver, allows us to use DMA for SIR mode transmit without eating up three physical channels. As IrDA is half-duplex, we actually only need one physical channel, and this architecture allows us to achieve that. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>

2012-03-07mlx4_core: Get rid of redundant ext_port_cap flagsOr Gerlitz1-5/+0
While doing the work for commit a6f7feae6d ("IB/mlx4: pass SMP vendor-specific attribute MADs to firmware") we realized that the firmware would respond on all sorts of vendor-specific MADs. Therefore commit 97285b7817 ("mlx4_core: Add extended port capabilities support") adds redundant code into the driver, since there's no real reaon to maintain the extended capabilities of the port, as they can be queried on demand (e.g the FDR10 capability). 2012-03-06mfd: Add power control interface for pm8606 chipJett.Zhou1-0/+22
The reference group and internal oscillator are shared by sub-devs like led, backlight and vibrator in PM8606 chip. Now introduce a voting mechanism to enable/disable it. Add pm8606_osc_enable() and pm8606_osc_disable() interface and related defines to support this. This interface will be called by vibrator led and backlight driver.The refernce group and internal oscillator are enabled only when at least one of it's clients holds it on or disabled only all the clients don't use it any more based on the above mechanism.
