2024-09-06net: dsa: microchip: replace unclear KSZ8830 stringsPieter Van Trappen1-1/+1
Replace ksz8830 with ksz88x3 for CHIP_ID definition and other strings. This due to KSZ8830 not being an actual switch but the Chip ID shared among KSZ8863/8873 switches, impossible to differentiate from their Chip ID or Revision ID registers. Now all KSZ*_CHIP_ID macros refer to actual, existing switches which removes confusion. 2024-07-20i2c: mux: gpio: Add support for the 'settle-time-us' propertyBastien Curutchet1-0/+2
Some hardware need some time to switch from a bus to another. This can cause the first transfers following the selection of a bus to fail. There is no way to configure this kind of waiting time in the driver. Add support for the 'settle-time-us' device-tree property. When set, the i2c_mux_gpio_select() applies a delay before returning, leaving enough time to the hardware to switch to the new bus. Retrieving the supported versions of a command is a fairly common operation. Provide a helper for it. If the command is not supported at all the EC returns -EINVAL/EC_RES_INVALID_PARAMS. This error is translated into an empty version mask as that is easier to handle for callers and they don't need to know about the error details. Like many laptops it uses an embedded controller (EC) to perform various platform operations, including, but not limited, to Type-C port control or power supply handlng. To read from the EC memory different mechanism are possible. ECs connected via LPC expose their memory via a ->cmd_readmem operation. Other protocols require the usage of EC_CMD_READ_MEMMAP, which on the other hand is not implemented by LPC ECs. Provide a helper that automatically selects the correct mechanism. This UIO driver was used to control the PRU processors found on various TI SoCs. It was created before the Remoteproc framework, but now with that we have a standard way to program and manage the PRU processors. The proper PRU Remoteproc driver should be used instead of this driver. This driver only supported the original class of PRUSS (OMAP-L1xx / AM17xx / AM18xx / TMS320C674x / DA8xx) but when these platforms were switched to use Device Tree the support for DT was not added to this driver and so it is now unused/unusable. Support for these platforms can be added to the proper PRU Remoteproc driver if ever needed. Remove this driver. The clk_input_pin attribute of davinci_mcbsp_dev struct is not set since commit 257ade78b601 ("ASoC: davinci-i2s: Convert to use edma-pcm"). Remove the attribute. Keep the behaviour of the MCBSP_CLKR case as MCBSP_CLKR == 0. I can't test the BC_FP format so I added back the initial comment that was removed by commit ec6375533748 ("ASoC: DaVinci: Added selection of clk input pin for McBSP"). This was the last dependency to linux/platform_data/davinci_asp.h so it is not included anymore. Remove the enum mcbsp_clk_input_pin from davinci_asp.h as it is not used anywhere else. Commit 5cbc7ca987fb ("spi: spi-omap2-mcspi.c: Toggle CS after each word") introduced the toggling of CS after each word for the omap2-mcspi controller. The implementation is not respectful of the actual spi_message content, so the CS can be raised after each word even if the transfer structure asks to keep the CS active for the whole operation. As it is not used anyway in the current Linux tree, it can be safely removed. include/linux/platform_data/x86/pmc_atom.h Move the register defines for the Atom (Bay Trail, Cherry Trail) PMC clocks to include/linux/platform_data/x86/pmc_atom.h. This is a preparation patch to extend the S0i3 readiness checks in drivers/platform/x86/pmc_atom.c with checking that the PMC clocks are off on suspend entry. Note these are added to include/linux/platform_data/x86/pmc_atom.h rather then to include/linux/platform_data/x86/clk-pmc-atom.h because the former already has all the other Atom PMC register defines. 2024-02-21net: mdio: mdio-bcm-unimac: Manage clock around I/O accessesFlorian Fainelli1-0/+3
Up until now we have managed not to have the mdio-bcm-unimac manage its clock except during probe and suspend/resume. This works most of the time, except where it does not. With a fully modular build, we can get into a situation whereby the GENET driver is fully registered, and so is the mdio-bcm-unimac driver, however the Ethernet PHY driver is not yet, because it depends on a resource that is not yet available (e.g.: GPIO provider). In that state, the network device is not usable yet, and so to conserve power, the GENET driver will have turned off its "main" clock which feeds its MDIO controller. When the PHY driver finally probes however, we make an access to the PHY registers to e.g.: disable interrupts, and this causes a bus error within the MDIO controller space because the MDIO controller clock(s) are turned off. To remedy that, we manage the clock around all of the I/O accesses to the hardware which are done exclusively during read, write and clock divider configuration. This ensures that the register space is accessible, and this also ensures that there are not unnecessarily elevated reference counts keeping the clocks active when the network device is administratively turned off. It would be the case with the previous way of managing the clock. 2024-02-05wifi: cw1200: Convert to GPIO descriptorsLinus Walleij1-4/+0
The CW1200 uses two GPIOs to control the powerup and reset pins, get these from GPIO descriptors instead of being passed as platform data from boardfiles. The RESET line will need to be marked as active low as we will let gpiolib handle the polarity inversion. The SDIO case is a bit special since the "card" need to be powered up before it gets detected on the SDIO bus and properly probed. Fix this by using board-specific GPIOs assigned to device "NULL". There are currently no in-tree users.
