Although very unlikely that the tlink pointer would be null in this case,
get_next_mid function can in theory return null (but not an error)
so need to check for null (not for IS_ERR, which can not be returned
here).

CIFS_SMALL_BUFFER, so we should use cifs_small_buf_release() to

strlcpy() reads the entire source buffer first. This read may exceed the
destination size limit. This is both inefficient and can lead to linear
read overflows if a source string is not NUL-terminated.
Also, the strnlen() call does not avoid the read overflow in the strlcpy
function when a not NUL-terminated string is passed.
So, replace this block by a call to kstrndup() that avoids this type of
overflow and does the same.

SMB3.0 doesn't have encryption negotiate context but simply uses
the SMB2_GLOBAL_CAP_ENCRYPTION flag.
When that flag is present in the neg response cifs.ko uses AES-128-CCM
which is the only cipher available in this context.
cipher_type was set to the server cipher only when parsing encryption
negotiate context (SMB3.1.1).
For SMB3.0 it was set to 0. This means cipher_type value can be 0 or 1
for AES-128-CCM.
Fix this by checking for SMB3.0 and encryption capability and setting
cipher_type appropriately.

When using smb2_copychunk_range() for large ranges we will
run through several iterations of a loop calling SMB2_ioctl()
but never actually free the returned buffer except for the final
iteration.
This leads to memory leaks everytime a large copychunk is requested.

Make SMB2 not print out an error when an oplock break is received for an
unknown handle, similar to SMB1. The debug message which is printed for
these unknown handles may also be misleading, so fix that too.
The SMB2 lease break path is not affected by this patch.
Without this, a program which writes to a file from one thread, and
opens, reads, and writes the same file from another thread triggers the
below errors several times a minute when run against a Samba server
configured with "smb2 leases = no".

Under SMB1 + POSIX, if an inode is reused on a server after we have read and
cached a part of a file, when we then open the new file with the
re-cycled inode there is a chance that we may serve the old data out of cache
to the application.
This only happens for SMB1 (deprecated) and when posix are used.
The simplest solution to avoid this race is to force a revalidate
on smb1-posix open.

smb311_update_preauth_hash() uses the shash in server->secmech without
appropriate locking, and this can lead to sessions corrupting each
other's preauth hashes.
The following script can easily trigger the problem:

Usually within seconds this leads to one or more of the mounts failing
with the following errors, and a "Bad SMB2 signature for message" is
seen in the server logs:
CIFS: VFS: \\192.168.0.1 failed to connect to IPC (rc=-13)
CIFS: VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -13
Fix it by holding the server mutex just like in the other places where
the shashes are used.

use its return value rather than always returning 0. Instead, use rc
variable as it is properly set to 0 in case there is no
server->ops->queryfs.

While debugging another issue today, Steve and I noticed that if a
subdir for a file share is already mounted on the client, any new
mount of any other subdir (or the file share root) of the same share
results in sharing the cifs superblock, which e.g. can result in
incorrect device name.
While setting prefix path for the root of a cifs_sb,
CIFS_MOUNT_USE_PREFIX_PATH flag should also be set.
Without it, prepath is not even considered in some places,
and output of "mount" and various /proc/<>/*mount* related
options can be missing part of the device name.

At the time, the size of array _Dialects_ was changed from 1 to 3 in struct
validate_negotiate_info_req, and then in 2019 it was changed from 3 to 4,
but those changes were never made in struct smb2_negotiate_req, which has
led to a 3 and a half years old out-of-bounds bug in function
SMB2_negotiate() (fs/cifs/smb2pdu.c).

Assuming
- //HOST/a is mounted on /mnt
- //HOST/b is mounted on /mnt/b
On a slow connection, running 'df' and killing it while it's
processing /mnt/b can make cifs_get_inode_info() returns -ERESTARTSYS.
This triggers the following chain of events:
=> the dentry revalidation fail
=> dentry is put and released
=> superblock associated with the dentry is put
=> /mnt/b is unmounted
This patch makes cifs_d_revalidate() return the error instead of 0
(invalid) when cifs_revalidate_dentry() fails, except for ENOENT (file
deleted) and ESTALE (file recreated).

In the negotiate protocol preauth context, the server is not required
to populate the salt (although it is done by most servers) so do
not warn on mount.
We retain the checks (warn) that the preauth context is the minimum
size and that the salt does not exceed DataLength of the SMB response.
Although we use the defaults in the case that the preauth context
response is invalid, these checks may be useful in the future
as servers add support for additional mechanisms.

Mounts to Azure cause an unneeded warning message in dmesg
"CIFS: VFS: parse_server_interfaces: incomplete interface info"
Azure rounds up the size (by 8 additional bytes, to a
16 byte boundary) of the structure returned on the query
of the server interfaces at mount time. This is permissible
even though different than other servers so do not log a warning
if query network interfaces response is only rounded up by 8
bytes or fewer.

When converting trailing spaces and periods in paths, do so
for every component of the path, not just the last component.
If the conversion is not done for every path component, then
subsequent operations in directories with trailing spaces or
periods (e.g. create(), mkdir()) will fail with ENOENT. This
is because on the server, the directory will have a special
symbol in its name, and the client needs to provide the same.

Some calls that set attributes, like utimensat(), are not supposed to return
-EINTR and thus do not have handlers for this in glibc which causes us
to leak -EINTR to the applications which are also unprepared to handle it.
For example tar will break if utimensat() return -EINTR and abort unpacking
the archive. Other applications may break too.
To handle this we add checks, and retry, for -EINTR in cifs_setattr()

The "end" pointer is either NULL or it points to the next byte to parse.
If there isn't a next byte then dereferencing "end" is an off-by-one out
of bounds error. And, of course, if it's NULL that leads to an Oops.
Printing "*end" doesn't seem very useful so let's delete this code.
Also for the last debug statement, I noticed that it should be printing
"sequence_end" instead of "end" so fix that as well.

On setxattr() syscall path due to an apprent typo the size of a dynamically
allocated memory chunk for storing struct smb2_file_full_ea_info object is
computed incorrectly, to be more precise the first addend is the size of
a pointer instead of the wanted object size. Coincidentally it makes no
difference on 64-bit platforms, however on 32-bit targets the following
memcpy() writes 4 bytes of data outside of the dynamically allocated memory.

Currenly we doesn't assume that a server may break a lease
from RWH to RW which causes us setting a wrong lease state
on a file and thus mistakenly flushing data and byte-range
locks and purging cached data on the client. This leads to
performance degradation because subsequent IOs go directly
to the server.
Fix this by propagating new lease state and epoch values
to the oplock break handler through cifsFileInfo structure
and removing the use of cifsInodeInfo flags for that. It
allows to avoid some races of several lease/oplock breaks
using those flags in parallel.

When mounting with Kerberos, users have been confused about the
default error returned in scenarios in which either keyutils is
not installed or the user did not properly acquire a krb5 ticket.
Log a warning message in the case that "ENOKEY" is returned
from the get_spnego_key upcall so that users can better understand
why mount failed in those two cases.

This reverts commit 9ffad9263b467efd8f8dc7ae1941a0a655a2bab2.
Upon additional testing with older servers, it was found that
the original commit introduced a regression when using the old SMB1
dialect and rsyncing over an existing file.
The patch will need to be respun to address this, likely including
a larger refactoring of the SMB1 and SMB3 rename code paths to make
it less confusing and also to address some additional rename error
cases that SMB3 may be able to workaround.

As the man description of the truncate, if the size changed,
then the st_ctime and st_mtime fields should be updated. But
in cifs, we doesn't do it.
It lead the xfstests generic/313 failed.
So, add the ATTR_MTIME|ATTR_CTIME flags on attrs when change
the file size

When xfstest generic/035, we found the target file was deleted
if the rename return -EACESS.
In cifs_rename2, we unlink the positive target dentry if rename
failed with EACESS or EEXIST, even if the target dentry is positived
before rename. Then the existing file was deleted.
We should just delete the target file which created during the
rename.

Ensure multiuser SMB3 mounts use encryption for all users' tcons if the
mount options are configured to require encryption. Without this, only
the primary tcon and IPC tcons are guaranteed to be encrypted. Per-user
tcons would only be encrypted if the server was configured to require
encryption.

The flag from the primary tcon needs to be copied into the volume info
so that cifs_get_tcon will try to enable extensions on the per-user
tcon. At that point, since posix extensions must have already been
enabled on the superblock, don't try to needlessly adjust the mount
flags.

CIFS implements the fallocate(FALLOC_FL_ZERO_RANGE) with send SMB
ioctl(FSCTL_SET_ZERO_DATA) to server. It just set the range of the
remote file to zero, but local page cache not update, then the data
inconsistent with server, which leads the xfstest generic/008 failed.
So we need to remove the local page caches before send SMB
ioctl(FSCTL_SET_ZERO_DATA) to server. After next read, it will
re-cache it.

Failed async writes that are requeued may not clean up a refcount
on the file, which can result in a leaked open. This scenario arises
very reliably when using persistent handles and a reconnect occurs
while writing.
cifs_writev_requeue only releases the reference if the write fails
(rc != 0). The server->ops->async_writev operation will take its own
reference, so the initial reference can always be released.

When encryption is used, smb2_transform_hdr is defined on the stack and is
passed to the transport. This doesn't work with RDMA as the buffer needs to
be DMA'ed.
Fix it by using kmalloc.

This patch is used to fix the bug in collect_uncached_read_data()
that rc is automatically converted from a signed number to an
unsigned number when the CIFS asynchronous read fails.
It will cause ctx->rc is error.
Example:
Share a directory and create a file on the Windows OS.
Mount the directory to the Linux OS using CIFS.
On the CIFS client of the Linux OS, invoke the pread interface to
deliver the read request.
The size of the read length plus offset of the read request is greater
than the maximum file size.
In this case, the CIFS server on the Windows OS returns a failure
message (for example, the return value of
smb2.nt_status is STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER).
After receiving the response message, the CIFS client parses
smb2.nt_status to STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER
and converts it to the Linux error code (rdata->result=-22).
Then the CIFS client invokes the collect_uncached_read_data function to
assign the value of rdata->result to rc, that is, rc=rdata->result=-22.
The type of the ctx->total_len variable is unsigned integer,
the type of the rc variable is integer, and the type of
the ctx->rc variable is ssize_t.
Therefore, during the ternary operation, the value of rc is
automatically converted to an unsigned number. The final result is
ctx->rc=4294967274. However, the expected result is ctx->rc=-22.

several iterations of ->atomic_open() calling conventions ago, we
used to need fput() if ->atomic_open() failed at some point after
successful finish_open(). Now (since 2016) it's not needed -
struct file carries enough state to make fput() work regardless
of the point in struct file lifecycle and discarding it on
failure exits in open() got unified. Unfortunately, I'd missed
the fact that we had an instance of ->atomic_open() (cifs one)
that used to need that fput(), as well as the stale comment in
finish_open() demanding such late failure handling. Trivially
fixed...

If from cifs_revalidate_dentry_attr() the SMB2/QUERY_INFO call fails with an
error, such as STATUS_SESSION_EXPIRED, causing the session to be reconnected
it is possible we will leak -EAGAIN back to the application even for
system calls such as stat() where this is not a valid error.
Fix this by re-trying the operation from within cifs_revalidate_dentry_attr()
if cifs_get_inode_info*() returns -EAGAIN.
This fixes stat() and possibly also other system calls that uses
cifs_revalidate_dentry*().

Code cleanup in the 5.1 kernel changed the array
passed into signing verification on large reads leading
to warning messages being logged when copying files to local
systems from remote.
SMB signature verification returned error = -5
This changeset fixes verification of SMB3 signatures of large
