2022-08-17regmap: mmio: Support accelerared noinc operationsLinus Walleij1-0/+162
Use the newly added callback for accelerated noinc MMIO to provide writesb, writesw, writesl, writesq, readsb, readsw, readsl and readsq. A special quirk is needed to deal with big endian regmaps: there are no accelerated operations defined for big endian, so fall back to calling the big endian operations itereatively for this case. The Hexagon architecture turns out to have an incomplete <asm/io.h>: writesb() is not implemented. Fix this by doing what other architectures do: include <asm-generic/io.h> into the <asm/io.h> file. 2022-08-17regmap: Support accelerated noinc operationsLinus Walleij1-3/+120
Several architectures have accelerated operations for MMIO operations writing to a single register, such as writesb, writesw, writesl, writesq, readsb, readsw, readsl and readsq but regmap currently cannot use them because we have no hooks for providing an accelerated noinc back-end for MMIO. Solve this by providing reg_[read/write]_noinc callbacks for the bus abstraction, so that the regmap-mmio bus can use this. Currently I do not see a need to support this for custom regmaps so it is only added to the bus. Callbacks are passed a void * with the array of values and a count which is the number of items of the byte chunk size for the specific register width. 2022-08-15regmap: mmio: Fix MMIO accessors to avoid talking to IO portAndy Shevchenko1-4/+4
Currently regmap MMIO is inconsistent with IO accessors. I.e. the Big Endian counterparts are using ioreadXXbe() / iowriteXXbe() which are not clean implementations of readXXbe(). That said, reimplement current Big Endian MMIO accessors by replacing ioread()/iowrite() with respective read()/write() and swab() calls. Note, there are no current in-kernel users that may utilize the functionality of the IO ports on Big Endian hardware. All drivers that use regmap MMIO either Little Endian, or they don't map IO ports in a way that ioreadXX()/iowriteXX() may be utilized. 2022-08-15regmap: mmio: Introduce IO accessors that can talk to IO portAndy Shevchenko1-9/+96
Some users may use regmap MMIO for IO ports, and this can be done by assigning ioreadXX()/iowriteXX() and their Big Endian counterparts to the regmap context. Add IO port support with a corresponding flag added. While doing that, make sure that user won't select relaxed MMIO access along with IO port because the latter have no relaxed variants. 2022-08-15regmap: mmio: Get rid of broken 64-bit IOAndy Shevchenko1-49/+0
The current implementation, besides having no active users, is broken by design of regmap. For 64-bit IO we need to supply 64-bit value, otherwise there is no way to handle upper 32 bits in 64-bit register. Hence, remove the broken IO accessors for good and wait for real user that can fix entire regmap API for that. 2022-08-12xen/xenbus: fix return type in xenbus_file_read()Dan Carpenter1-2/+2
This code tries to store -EFAULT in an unsigned int. The xenbus_file_read() function returns type ssize_t so the negative value is returned as a positive value to the user. This change forces another change to the min() macro. Originally, the min() macro used "unsigned" type which checkpatch complains about. Also unsigned type would break if "len" were not capped at MAX_RW_COUNT. Use size_t for the min(). (No effect on runtime for the min_t() change). 2022-08-12xen-blkfront: Apply 'feature_persistent' parameter when connectSeongJae Park1-3/+1
In some use cases[1], the backend is created while the frontend doesn't support the persistent grants feature, but later the frontend can be changed to support the feature and reconnect. In the past, 'blkback' enabled the persistent grants feature since it unconditionally checked if frontend supports the persistent grants feature for every connect ('connect_ring()') and decided whether it should use persistent grans or not. However, commit aac8a70db24b ("xen-blkback: add a parameter for disabling of persistent grants") has mistakenly changed the behavior. It made the frontend feature support check to not be repeated once it shown the 'feature_persistent' as 'false', or the frontend doesn't support persistent grants. Similar behavioral change has made on 'blkfront' by commit 74a852479c68 ("xen-blkfront: add a parameter for disabling of persistent grants"). This commit changes the behavior of the parameter to make effect for every connect, so that the previous behavior of 'blkfront' can be restored. 2022-08-12xen-blkback: fix persistent grants negotiationSeongJae Park1-8/+7
Persistent grants feature can be used only when both backend and the frontend supports the feature. The feature was always supported by 'blkback', but commit aac8a70db24b ("xen-blkback: add a parameter for disabling of persistent grants") has introduced a parameter for disabling it runtime. To avoid the parameter be updated while being used by 'blkback', the commit caches the parameter into 'vbd->feature_gnt_persistent' in 'xen_vbd_create()', and then check if the guest also supports the feature and finally updates the field in 'connect_ring()'. However, 'connect_ring()' could be called before 'xen_vbd_create()', so later execution of 'xen_vbd_create()' can wrongly overwrite 'true' to 'vbd->feature_gnt_persistent'. As a result, 'blkback' could try to use 'persistent grants' feature even if the guest doesn't support the feature. This commit fixes the issue by moving the parameter value caching to 'xen_blkif_alloc()', which allocates the 'blkif'. Because the struct embeds 'vbd' object, which will be used by 'connect_ring()' later, this should be called before 'connect_ring()' and therefore this should be the right and safe place to do the caching. Implement support for the HVMOP_set_evtchn_upcall_vector hypercall in order to set the per-vCPU event channel vector callback on Linux and use it in preference of HVM_PARAM_CALLBACK_IRQ. If the per-VCPU vector setup is successful on BSP, use this method for the APs. If not, fallback to the global vector-type callback. This series implements Sstc extension support which was ratified recently. Before the Sstc extension, an SBI call is necessary to generate timer interrupts as only M-mode have access to the timecompare registers. Thus, there is significant latency to generate timer interrupts at kernel. For virtualized enviornments, its even worse as the KVM handles the SBI call and uses a software timer to emulate the timecomapre register. Sstc extension solves both these problems by defining a stimecmp/vstimecmp at supervisor (host/guest) level. area_cache_get() is used to distribute cache->area and set cache->id, and if cache->id is not 0 and cache->area->kref refcount is 0, it will release the cache->area by nfp_cpp_area_release(). area_cache_get() set cache->id before cpp->op->area_init() and nfp_cpp_area_acquire(). But if area_init() or nfp_cpp_area_acquire() fails, the cache->id is is already set but the refcount is not increased as expected. At this time, calling the nfp_cpp_area_release() will cause use-after-free. To avoid the use-after-free, set cache->id after area_init() and nfp_cpp_area_acquire() complete successfully. Note: This vulnerability is triggerable by providing emulated device equipped with specified configuration. 2022-08-11dm bufio: fix some cases where the code sleeps with spinlock heldMikulas Patocka1-1/+9
Commit b32d45824aa7 ("dm bufio: Add DM_BUFIO_CLIENT_NO_SLEEP flag") added a "NO_SLEEP" mode, it replaces a mutex with a spinlock, and it is only usable when the device is in read-only mode (because the write path may be sleeping while holding the dm_bufio_client lock). However, there are still two points where the code could sleep even in read-only mode. One is in __get_unclaimed_buffer -> __make_buffer_clean. The other is in __try_evict_buffer -> __make_buffer_clean. These functions will call __make_buffer_clean which sleeps if the buffer is being read. Fix these cases so that if c->no_sleep is set __make_buffer_clean will not be called and the buffer will be skipped instead.
