2016-06-26serial: vt8500_serial: make it explicitly non-modularPaul Gortmaker1-28/+2
The Kconfig currently controlling compilation of this code is: drivers/tty/serial/Kconfig:config SERIAL_VT8500 drivers/tty/serial/Kconfig: bool "VIA VT8500 on-chip serial port support" ...meaning that it currently is not being built as a module by anyone. Lets remove the modular code that is essentially orphaned, so that when reading the driver there is no doubt it is builtin-only. We explicitly disallow a driver unbind, since that doesn't have a sensible use case anyway, and it allows us to drop the ".remove" code for non-modular drivers. Since module_init translates to device_initcall in the non-modular case, the init ordering remains unchanged with this commit. We don't replace module.h with init.h since the file already has that. We also delete the MODULE_LICENSE tag etc. since all that information is already contained at the top of the file in the comments. 2014-09-09tty: vt8500_serial: explicitly calculate base baud rateAlexey Charkov1-6/+21
Current code relies on the UART clock pre-divisor to be already configured in the baud rate register. Calculate it in the driver and set explicitly instead, also return the "real" effective baud rate, which is generally slightly different from the requested value. 2014-09-09tty: vt8500_serial: add support for UART in WM8880 chipsAlexey Charkov1-14/+56
Newer WonderMedia chips introduced another flag in the UART line control register, which controls whether RTS/CTS signalling should be handled in the driver or by the hardware itself. This patch ensures that the kernel can control RTS/CTS (including disabling it altogether) by forcing this flag to software mode on affected chips (only WM8880 so far). 2013-10-17serial: vt8500: add missing bracesRoel Kluin1-2/+3
Due to missing braces on an if statement, in presence of a device_node a port was always assigned -1, regardless of any alias entries in the device tree. Conversely, if device_node was NULL, an unitialized port ended up being used. This patch adds the missing braces, fixing the issues. 2013-01-18serial: vt8500: UART uses gated clock rather than 24Mhz referenceTony Prisk1-15/+19
UART modules on Wondermedia SoCs are connected via a gated clock source, rather than directly to the 24Mhz reference clock. While uboot enables UART0 for debugging, other UART ports are unavailable until the clock is enabled. This patch checks that a valid clock is actually passed from devicetree, enables the clock in probe. This change removes the fallback when a clock was not specified as it doesn't apply any longer (and would only work if the UART clock was already enabled). Now, we start converting tty buffer functions to actually use tty_port. This will allow us to get rid of the need of tty in many call sites. Only tty_port will needed and hence no more tty_port_tty_get in those paths. Now, the one where most of tty_port_tty_get gets removed: tty_flip_buffer_push. IOW we also closed all the races in drivers not using tty_port_tty_get at all yet. Also we move tty_flip_buffer_push declaration from include/linux/tty.h to include/linux/tty_flip.h to all others while we are changing it anyway.
