4 dayssoc: qcom: ice: Allow explicit votes on 'iface' clock for ICEHarshal Dev1-2/+15
[ Upstream commit 0d5dc5818191b55e4364d04b1b898a14a2ccac38 ] Since Qualcomm inline-crypto engine (ICE) is now a dedicated driver de-coupled from the QCOM UFS driver, it explicitly votes for its required clocks during probe. For scenarios where the 'clk_ignore_unused' flag is not passed on the kernel command line, to avoid potential unclocked ICE hardware register access during probe the ICE driver should additionally vote on the 'iface' clock. Also update the suspend and resume callbacks to handle un-voting and voting on the 'iface' clock. 2026-07-24soc: fsl: qe: panic on ioremap() failure in qe_reset()Wang Jun1-0/+3
commit a0fe29d20e7822182e12324905af5115c1b3aed3 upstream. When ioremap() fails in qe_reset(), the global pointer qe_immr remains NULL, leading to a subsequent NULL pointer dereference when the pointer is accessed. Since this happens early in the boot process, a failure to map a few bytes of I/O memory indicates a fatal error from which the system cannot recover. Follow the same pattern as qe_sdma_init() and panic immediately when ioremap() fails. This avoids a silent NULL pointer dereference later and makes the error explicit. commit b920352cfd2b0fcd1249ff006618c939b64fc8f7 upstream. k3_ringacc_ring_pop_tail_io() and k3_ringacc_ring_pop_tail_proxy() incorrectly use K3_RINGACC_ACCESS_MODE_POP_HEAD instead of K3_RINGACC_ACCESS_MODE_POP_TAIL. [ Upstream commit fdee7c66c0d7b6869c36b9f9a915abf29ab5b550 ] A mbox rx channel is requested using mbox_request_channel_byname() in probe. In remove callback, the rx mailbox channel is cleaned up when the rx_chan is NULL due to incorrect condition check. The mailbox channel is not shutdown and it can receive messages even after the device removal. This leads to use after free. Also the channel resources are not freed. 2026-06-19soc: qcom: ice: Fix race between qcom_ice_probe() and of_qcom_ice_get()Manivannan Sadhasivam1-7/+31
commit d922113ef91e6e7e8065e9070f349365341ba32e upstream. The current platform driver design causes probe ordering races with consumers (UFS, eMMC) due to ICE's dependency on SCM firmware calls. If ICE probe fails (missing ICE SCM or DT registers), devm_of_qcom_ice_get() loops with -EPROBE_DEFER, leaving consumers non-functional even when ICE should be gracefully disabled. devm_of_qcom_ice_get() doesn't know if the ICE driver probe has failed due to above reasons or it is waiting for the SCM driver. Moreover, there is no devlink dependency between ICE and consumer drivers as 'qcom, ice' is not considered as a DT 'supplier'. So the consumer drivers have no idea of when the ICE driver is going to probe. To address these issues, store the error pointer in a global xarray with ice node phandle as a key during probe in addition to the valid ice pointer and synchronize both qcom_ice_probe() and of_qcom_ice_get() using a mutex. If the xarray entry is NULL, then it implies that the driver is not probed yet, so return -EPROBE_DEFER. If it has any error pointer, return that error pointer directly. Otherwise, add the devlink as usual and return the valid pointer to the consumer. Xarray is used instead of platform drvdata, since driver core frees the drvdata during probe failure. So it cannot be used to pass the error pointer to the consumers. Note that this change only fixes the standalone ICE DT node bindings and not the ones with 'ice' range embedded in the consumer nodes, where there is no issue. [ Upstream commit 24e7625df5ce065393249b78930781be593bc381 ] The llcc_v1_edac_reg_offset table uses 0x2304c for trp_ecc_sb_err_syn0, which is inconsistent with the surrounding TRP ECC registers (0x2034x) and with llcc_v2_1_edac_reg_offset, where trp_ecc_sb_err_syn0 is 0x2034c adjacent to trp_ecc_error_status0/1 at 0x20344/0x20348. Indeed, we can have: Thread A Thread B qman_destroy_fq() qman_create_fq() qman_release_fqid() qman_shutdown_fq() gen_pool_free() -- At this point, the fqid is available again -- qman_alloc_fqid() -- so, we can get the just-freed fqid in thread B -- fq->fqid = fqid; fq->idx = fqid * 2; WARN_ON(fq_table[fq->idx]); fq_table[fq->idx] = fq; fq_table[fq->idx] = NULL; And adding some logs between qman_release_fqid() and fq_table[fq->idx] = NULL makes the WARN_ON() trigger a lot more. 2025-08-28soc/tegra: pmc: Ensure power-domains are in a known stateJon Hunter1-22/+29
commit b6bcbce3359619d05bf387d4f5cc3af63668dbaa upstream. After commit 13a4b7fb6260 ("pmdomain: core: Leave powered-on genpds on until late_initcall_sync") was applied, the Tegra210 Jetson TX1 board failed to boot. Looking into this issue, before this commit was applied, if any of the Tegra power-domains were in 'on' state when the kernel booted, they were being turned off by the genpd core before any driver had chance to request them. This was purely by luck and a consequence of the power-domains being turned off earlier during boot. After this commit was applied, any power-domains in the 'on' state are kept on for longer during boot and therefore, may never transitioned to the off state before they are requested/used. The hang on the Tegra210 Jetson TX1 is caused because devices in some power-domains are accessed without the power-domain being turned off and on, indicating that the power-domain is not in a completely on state. >From reviewing the Tegra PMC driver code, if a power-domain is in the 'on' state there is no guarantee that all the necessary clocks associated with the power-domain are on and even if they are they would not have been requested via the clock framework and so could be turned off later. Some power-domains also have a 'clamping' register that needs to be configured as well. In short, if a power-domain is already 'on' it is difficult to know if it has been configured correctly. Given that the power-domains happened to be switched off during boot previously, to ensure that they are in a good known state on boot, fix this by switching off any power-domains that are on initially when registering the power-domains with the genpd framework. Note that commit 05cfb988a4d0 ("soc/tegra: pmc: Initialise resets associated with a power partition") updated the tegra_powergate_of_get_resets() function to pass the 'off' to ensure that the resets for the power-domain are in the correct state on boot. However, now that we may power off a domain on boot, if it is on, it is better to move this logic into the tegra_powergate_add() function so that there is a single place where we are handling the initial state of the power-domain. commit 9f9967fed9d066ed3dae9372b45ffa4f6fccfeef upstream. When the MDT loader is used in remoteproc, the ELF header is sanitized beforehand, but that's not necessary the case for other clients. Validate the size of the firmware buffer to ensure that we don't read past the end as we iterate over the header. e_phentsize and e_shentsize are validated as well, to ensure that the assumptions about step size in the traversal are valid. [ Upstream commit a0647bca8966db04b79af72851ebd04224a4da40 ] When error is injected with the ERR_FORCE register, then this register is not auto cleared on clearing the ERR_STATUS register.
