2005-11-30[PATCH] fix megaraid.c lockingChristoph Hellwig1-15/+14
This fixes locking in megaraid.c, namely: (1) make sure megaraid_queue release the adapter lock by changing the code to have a single return (2) remove the errornous scsi_assign_lock call Testing by Burton Windle. 2005-11-06[SCSI] megaraid (legacy): remove scsi_assign_lock usageChristoph Hellwig1-19/+13
just take the adapter lock in megaraid_queue. Additional benefit is that we can get rid of the awkward conditional locking in mega_internal_command. Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de> Signed-off-by: James Bottomley <James.Bottomley@SteelEye.com>
2005-10-03[SCSI] Legacy MegaRAID: Fix READ CAPACITYJames Bottomley1-20/+50
Some Legacy megaraid cards can't actually cope with the scatter/gather version of the READ CAPACITY command (which is what we now send them since altering all SCSI internal I/O to go via the block layer). Fix this (and a few other broken megaraid driver assumptions) by sending the non-sg version of the command if the sg list only has a single element. 2005-06-28[PATCH] PCI: make drivers use the pci shutdown callback instead of the ↵Greg Kroah-Hartman1-5/+3
driver core callback. Now we can change the pci core to always set this pointer, as pci drivers should use it, not the driver core callback. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2005-06-26[SCSI] remove scsi_cmnd->stateChristoph Hellwig1-22/+4
We never look at it except for the old megaraid driver that abuses it for sending internal commands. That usage can be fixed easily because those internal commands are single-threaded by a mutex and we can easily use a completion there. Signed-off-by: James Bottomley <James.Bottomley@SteelEye.com>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
