commit d37cd54ebeac37a763fbf303ed25f8a6e98328ff upstream. A user reported that reading the charge threshold on his device results in very strange values (like 78497792) being returned. The reason for this seems to be the fact that the driver casts the int pointer to an u8 pointer, leaving the last 3 bytes of the destination uninitialized. Fix this by using a temporary variable instead. [ Upstream commit 66e245db16f0175af656cd812b6dc1a5e1f7b80a ] The PMT feature probe creates a child device with device_create(). If device creation fail, the code pass priv->dev (which is an ERR_PTR) to dev_err_probe(), which is not a valid device pointer. This patch change the dev_err_probe() call to use the parent auxiliary device (&auxdev->dev) and update the error message to reference the parent device name. It ensure correct error reporting and avoid passing an invalid device pointer. [ Upstream commit e44c42c830b7ab36e3a3a86321c619f24def5206 ] The hp_populate_*_elements_from_package() functions in the hp-bioscfg driver contain out-of-bounds array access vulnerabilities. These functions parse ACPI packages into internal data structures using a for loop with index variable 'elem' that iterates through enum_obj/integer_obj/order_obj/password_obj/string_obj arrays. When processing multi-element fields like PREREQUISITES and ENUM_POSSIBLE_VALUES, these functions read multiple consecutive array elements using expressions like 'enum_obj[elem + reqs]' and 'enum_obj[elem + pos_values]' within nested loops. The bug is that the bounds check only validated elem, but did not consider the additional offset when accessing elem + reqs or elem + pos_values. The fix changes the bounds check to validate the actual accessed index. commit 527250cd9092461f1beac3e4180a4481bffa01b5 upstream. Members of struct software_node_ref_args should not be dereferenced directly but set using the provided macros. Commit d7cdbbc93c56 ("software node: allow referencing firmware nodes") changed the name of the software node member and caused a build failure. Remove all direct dereferences of the ref struct as a fix. However, this driver also seems to abuse the software node interface by waiting for a node with an arbitrary name "intel-xhci-usb-sw" to appear in the system before setting up the reference for the I2C device, while the actual software node already exists in the intel-xhci-usb-role-switch module and should be used to set up a static reference. Add a FIXME for a future improvement. The ACPI ECRD and ECWR functions have a 10ms sleep at the end. It turns out, that this is sometimes needed to avoid I2C transmission failures, especially for functions doing regmap_update_bits (and thus read + write shortly after each other). This fixes problems like the following appearing in the kernel log: leds platform::micmute: Setting an LED's brightness failed (-6) leds platform::kbd_backlight: Setting an LED's brightness failed (-6) The ACPI QEVT function used to read the interrupt status register also has a 10ms sleep at the end. It turns out that the GUID used by the msi-wmi-platform driver (ABBC0F60-8EA1-11D1-00A0-C90629100000) is not unique, but was instead copied from the WIndows Driver Samples. This means that this driver could load on devices from other manufacturers that also copied this GUID, potentially causing hardware errors. Prevent this by only loading on devices whitelisted via DMI. The DMI matches where taken from the msi-ec driver. The ROG Xbox Ally (non-X) SoC features a similar architecture to the Steam Deck. While the Steam Deck supports S3 (s2idle causes a crash), this support was dropped by the Xbox Ally which only S0ix suspend. Since the handler is missing here, this causes the device to not suspend and the AMD GPU driver to crash while trying to resume afterwards due to a power hang. 2025-10-28platform/x86: int3472: Fix double free of GPIO device during unregisterQiu Wenbo1-4/+1
regulator_unregister() already frees the associated GPIO device. On ThinkPad X9 (Lunar Lake), this causes a double free issue that leads to random failures when other drivers (typically Intel THC) attempt to allocate interrupts. The root cause is that the reference count of the pinctrl_intel_platform module unexpectedly drops to zero when this driver defers its probe. This behavior can also be reproduced by unloading the module directly. Fix the issue by removing the redundant release of the GPIO device during regulator unregistration.
