[ Upstream commit 67fbe02a5cebc3c653610f12e3c0424e58450153 ]
Recently userspace has started making more use of SW_TABLET_MODE
(when an input-dev reports this).
Specifically recent GNOME3 versions will:
1. When SW_TABLET_MODE is reported and is reporting 0:
1.1 Disable accelerometer-based screen auto-rotation
1.2 Disable automatically showing the on-screen keyboard when a
text-input field is focussed
2. When SW_TABLET_MODE is reported and is reporting 1:
2.1 Ignore input-events from the builtin keyboard and touchpad
(this is for 360° hinges style 2-in-1s where the keyboard and
touchpads are accessible on the back of the tablet when folded
into tablet-mode)
This means that claiming to support SW_TABLET_MODE when it does not
actually work / reports correct values has bad side-effects.
The check in the hp-wmi code which is used to decide if the input-dev
should claim SW_TABLET_MODE support, only checks if the
HPWMI_HARDWARE_QUERY is supported. It does *not* check if the hardware
actually is capable of reporting SW_TABLET_MODE.
This leads to the hp-wmi input-dev claiming SW_TABLET_MODE support,
while in reality it will always report 0 as SW_TABLET_MODE value.
This has been seen on a "HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-cp0xxx" and
this likely is the case on a whole lot of other HP models.
This problem causes both auto-rotation and on-screen keyboard
support to not work on affected x360 models.
There is no easy fix for this, but since userspace expects
SW_TABLET_MODE reporting to be reliable when advertised it is
better to not claim/report SW_TABLET_MODE support at all, then
to claim to support it while it does not work.
To avoid the mentioned problems, add a new enable_tablet_mode_sw
module-parameter which defaults to false.
Note I've made this an int using the standard -1=auto, 0=off, 1=on
triplett, with the hope that in the future we can come up with a
better way to detect SW_TABLET_MODE support. ATM the default
auto option just does the same as off.

Estar Beauty HD tablet
[ Upstream commit 46c54cf2706122c37497896d56d67b0c0aca2ede ]
The Estar Beauty HD (MID 7316R) tablet uses a Goodix touchscreen,
with the X and Y coordinates swapped compared to the LCD panel.
Add a touchscreen_dmi entry for this adding a "touchscreen-swapped-x-y"
device-property to the i2c-client instantiated for this device before
the driver binds.
This is the first entry of a Goodix touchscreen to touchscreen_dmi.c,
so far DMI quirks for Goodix touchscreen's have been added directly
to drivers/input/touchscreen/goodix.c. Currently there are 3
DMI tables in goodix.c:
1. rotated_screen[] for devices where the touchscreen is rotated
180 degrees vs the LCD panel
2. inverted_x_screen[] for devices where the X axis is inverted
3. nine_bytes_report[] for devices which use a non standard touch
report size
Arguably only 3. really needs to be inside the driver and the other
2 cases are better handled through the generic touchscreen DMI quirk
mechanism from touchscreen_dmi.c, which allows adding device-props to
any i2c-client. Esp. now that goodix.c is using the generic
touchscreen_properties code.
Alternative to the approach from this patch we could add a 4th
dmi_system_id table for devices with swapped-x-y axis to goodix.c,
but that seems undesirable.

[ Upstream commit 070222731be52d741e55d8967b1764482b81e54c ]
THe HP Stream x360 Convertible PC 11 DSDT has the following VGBS function:
Method (VGBS, 0, Serialized)
{
If ((^^PCI0.LPCB.EC0.ROLS == Zero))
{
VBDS = Zero
}
Else
{
VBDS = Zero
}
Return (VBDS) /* \_SB_.VGBI.VBDS */
}
Which is obviously wrong, because it always returns 0 independent of the
2-in-1 being in laptop or tablet mode. This causes the intel-vbtn driver
to initially report SW_TABLET_MODE = 1 to userspace, which is known to
cause problems when the 2-in-1 is actually in laptop mode.
During earlier testing this turned out to not be a problem because the
2-in-1 would do a Notify(..., 0xCC) or Notify(..., 0xCD) soon after
the intel-vbtn driver loaded, correcting the SW_TABLET_MODE state.
Further testing however has shown that this Notify() soon after the
intel-vbtn driver loads, does not always happen. When the Notify
does not happen, then intel-vbtn reports SW_TABLET_MODE = 1 resulting in
a non-working touchpad.
IOW the tablet-mode reporting is not reliable on this device, so it
should be dropped from the allow-list, fixing the touchpad sometimes
not working.

commit fe6000990394639ed374cb76c313be3640714f47 upstream.
This 2-in-1 model (Product name: Switch SA5-271) features a SW_TABLET_MODE

Yoga 11e 4th gen
[ Upstream commit c986a7024916c92a775fc8d853fba3cae1d5fde4 ]
The Thinkpad Yoga 11e 4th gen with the N3450 / Celeron CPU only has
one battery which is named BAT1 instead of the expected BAT0, add a
quirk for this. This fixes not being able to set the charging tresholds
on this model; and this alsoe fixes the following errors in dmesg:
ACPI: \_SB_.PCI0.LPCB.EC__.HKEY: BCTG evaluated but flagged as error
thinkpad_acpi: Error probing battery 2
battery: extension failed to load: ThinkPad Battery Extension
battery: extension unregistered: ThinkPad Battery Extension
Note that the added quirk is for the "R0K" BIOS versions which are
used on the Thinkpad Yoga 11e 4th gen's with a Celeron CPU, there
is a separate "R0L" BIOS for the i3/i5 based versions. This may also
need the same quirk, but if that really is necessary is unknown.

[ Upstream commit f2eae1888cf22590c38764b8fa3c989c0283870e ]
The Yoga 11e series has 2 accelerometers described by a BOSC0200 ACPI node.
This setup relies on a Windows service which reads both accelerometers and
then calculates the angle between the 2 halves to determine laptop / tent /
tablet mode and then reports the calculated mode back to the EC by calling
special ACPI methods on the BOSC0200 node.
The bmc150 iio driver does not support this (it involves double
calculations requiring sqrt and arccos so this really needs to be done
in userspace), as a result of this on the Yoga 11e the thinkpad_acpi
code always reports SW_TABLET_MODE=0, starting with GNOME 3.38 reporting
SW_TABLET_MODE=0 causes GNOME to:
1. Not show the onscreen keyboard when a text-input field is focussed
with the touchscreen.
2. Disable accelerometer based auto display-rotation.
This makes sense when in laptop-mode but not when in tablet-mode. But
since for the Yoga 11e the thinkpad_acpi code always reports
SW_TABLET_MODE=0, GNOME does not know when the device is in tablet-mode.
Stop reporting the broken (always 0) SW_TABLET_MODE on Yoga 11e models
to fix this.
Note there are plans for userspace to support 360 degree hinges style
2-in-1s with 2 accelerometers and figure out the mode by itself, see:

1fac39fd0316 ("platform/x86: intel-vbtn: Also handle tablet-mode switch on
"Detachable" and "Portable" chassis-types")
Enabled reporting of SW_TABLET_MODE on more devices since the vbtn ACPI
interface is used by the firmware on some of those devices to report this.
Testing has shown that unconditionally enabling SW_TABLET_MODE reporting
on all devices with a chassis type of 8 ("Portable") or 10 ("Notebook")
which support the VGBS method is a very bad idea.
Many of these devices are normal laptops (non 2-in-1) models with a VGBS
which always returns 0, which we translate to SW_TABLET_MODE=1. This in
turn causes userspace (libinput) to suppress events from the builtin
keyboard and touchpad, making the laptop essentially unusable.
Since the problem of wrongly reporting SW_TABLET_MODE=1 in combination
with libinput, leads to a non-usable system. Where as OTOH many people will
not even notice when SW_TABLET_MODE is not being reported, this commit
changes intel_vbtn_has_switches() to use a DMI based allow-list.
The new DMI based allow-list matches on the 31 ("Convertible") and
32 ("Detachable") chassis-types, as these clearly are 2-in-1s and
so far if they support the intel-vbtn ACPI interface they all have
properly working SW_TABLET_MODE reporting.
Besides these 2 generic matches, it also contains model specific matches
for 2-in-1 models which use a different chassis-type and which are known
to have properly working SW_TABLET_MODE reporting.
This has been tested on the following 2-in-1 devices:
Dell Venue 11 Pro 7130 vPro

SW_TABLET_MODE on the 9 / "Laptop" chasis-type") restored SW_TABLET_MODE
reporting on the HP stream x360 11 series on which it was previously broken
by commit de9647efeaa9 ("platform/x86: intel-vbtn: Only activate tablet
mode switch on 2-in-1's").
It turns out that enabling SW_TABLET_MODE reporting on devices with a
chassis-type of 10 ("Notebook") causes SW_TABLET_MODE to always report 1
at boot on the HP Pavilion 11 x360, which causes libinput to disable the
kbd and touchpad.
The HP Pavilion 11 x360's ACPI VGBS method sets bit 4 instead of bit 6 when
NOT in tablet mode at boot. Inspecting all the DSDTs in my DSDT collection
shows only one other model, the Medion E1239T ever setting bit 4 and it
always sets this together with bit 6.
So lets treat bit 4 as a second bit which when set indicates the device not
being in tablet-mode, as we already do for bit 6.
While at it also prefix all VGBS constant defines with "VGBS_".

chasis-type
[ Upstream commit cfae58ed681c5fe0185db843013ecc71cd265ebf ]
The HP Stream x360 11-p000nd no longer report SW_TABLET_MODE state / events
with recent kernels. This model reports a chassis-type of 10 / "Notebook"
which is not on the recently introduced chassis-type whitelist
Commit de9647efeaa9 ("platform/x86: intel-vbtn: Only activate tablet mode
switch on 2-in-1's") added a chassis-type whitelist and only listed 31 /
"Convertible" as being capable of generating valid SW_TABLET_MOD events.
Commit 1fac39fd0316 ("platform/x86: intel-vbtn: Also handle tablet-mode
switch on "Detachable" and "Portable" chassis-types") extended the
whitelist with chassis-types 8 / "Portable" and 32 / "Detachable".
And now we need to exten the whitelist again with 10 / "Notebook"...
The issue original fixed by the whitelist is really a ACPI DSDT bug on
the Dell XPS 9360 where it has a VGBS which reports it is in tablet mode
even though it is not a 2-in-1 at all, but a regular laptop.
So since this is a workaround for a DSDT issue on that specific model,
instead of extending the whitelist over and over again, lets switch to
a blacklist and only blacklist the chassis-type of the model for which
the chassis-type check was added.
Note this also fixes the current version of the code no longer checking
if dmi_get_system_info(DMI_CHASSIS_TYPE) returns NULL.

"Portable" chassis-types
[ Upstream commit 1fac39fd0316b19c3e57a182524332332d1643ce ]
Commit de9647efeaa9 ("platform/x86: intel-vbtn: Only activate tablet mode
switch on 2-in-1's") added a DMI chassis-type check to avoid accidentally
reporting SW_TABLET_MODE = 1 to userspace on laptops.
Some devices with a detachable keyboard and using the intel-vbnt (INT33D6)
interface to report if they are in tablet mode (keyboard detached) or not,
report 32 / "Detachable" as chassis-type, e.g. the HP Pavilion X2 series.
Other devices with a detachable keyboard and using the intel-vbnt (INT33D6)
interface to report SW_TABLET_MODE, report 8 / "Portable" as chassis-type.
The Dell Venue 11 Pro 7130 is an example of this.
Extend the DMI chassis-type check to also accept Portables and Detachables
so that the intel-vbtn driver will report SW_TABLET_MODE on these devices.
Note the chassis-type check was originally added to avoid a false-positive
tablet-mode report on the Dell XPS 9360 laptop. To the best of my knowledge
that laptop is using a chassis-type of 9 / "Laptop", so after this commit
we still ignore the tablet-switch for that chassis-type.

Commit de9647efeaa9 ("platform/x86: intel-vbtn: Only activate tablet mode
switch on 2-in-1's") added a DMI chassis-type check to avoid accidentally
reporting SW_TABLET_MODE = 1 to userspace on laptops (specifically on the
Dell XPS 9360), to avoid e.g. userspace ignoring touchpad events because
userspace thought the device was in tablet-mode.
But if we are not getting the initial status of the switch because the
device does not have a tablet mode, then we really should not advertise
the presence of a tablet-mode switch to userspace at all, as userspace may
use the mere presence of this switch for certain heuristics.

asus-nb-wmi does not add any extra functionality on these Asus
Transformer books. They have detachable keyboards, so the hotkeys are
send through a HID device (and handled by the hid-asus driver) and also
the rfkill functionality is not used on these devices.
Besides not adding any extra functionality, initializing the WMI interface
on these devices actually has a negative side-effect. For some reason
the \_SB.ATKD.INIT() function which asus_wmi_platform_init() calls drives
GPO2 (INT33FC:02) pin 8, which is connected to the front facing webcam LED,
high and there is no (WMI or other) interface to drive this low again
causing the LED to be permanently on, even during suspend.
This commit adds a blacklist of DMI system_ids on which not to load the
asus-nb-wmi and adds these Transformer books to this list. This fixes

commit f3e4f3fc8ee9729c4b1b27a478c68b713df53c0c upstream.
The AML code implementing the WMI methods creates a variable length
field to hold the input data we pass like this:
CreateDWordField (Arg1, 0x0C, DSZI)
Local5 = DSZI /* \HWMC.DSZI */
CreateField (Arg1, 0x80, (Local5 * 0x08), DAIN)
If we pass 0 as bios_args.datasize argument then (Local5 * 0x08)
is 0 which results in these errors:
[ 71.973305] ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Attempt to CreateField of length zero (20190816/dsopcode-133)
[ 71.973332] ACPI Error: Aborting method \HWMC due to previous error (AE_AML_OPERAND_VALUE) (20190816/psparse-529)
[ 71.973413] ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.WMID.WMAA due to previous error (AE_AML_OPERAND_VALUE) (20190816/psparse-529)
And in our HPWMI_WIRELESS2_QUERY calls always failing. for read commands
like HPWMI_WIRELESS2_QUERY the DSZI value is not used / checked, except for
read commands where extra input is needed to specify exactly what to read.
So for HPWMI_WIRELESS2_QUERY we can safely pass the size of the expected
output as insize to hp_wmi_perform_query(), as we are already doing for all
other HPWMI_READ commands we send. Doing so fixes these errors.

commit 16245db1489cd9aa579506f64afeeeb13d825a93 upstream.
The HP WMI calls may take up to 128 bytes of data as input, and
the AML methods implementing the WMI calls, declare a couple of fields for
accessing input in different sizes, specifycally the HWMC method contains:
CreateField (Arg1, 0x80, 0x0400, D128)
Even though we do not use any of the WMI command-types which need a buffer
of this size, the APCI interpreter still tries to create it as it is
declared in generoc code at the top of the HWMC method which runs before
the code looks at which command-type is requested.
This results in many of these errors on many different HP laptop models:
[ 14.459261] ACPI Error: Field [D128] at 1152 exceeds Buffer [NULL] size 160 (bits) (20170303/dsopcode-236)

to 128 bytes fixing these errors.

[ Upstream commit 440f343df1996302d9a3904647ff11b689bf27bc ]
Exchange LED configuration between msn201x and next generation systems
types.
Bug was introduced when LED driver activation was added to mlx-platform.
LED configuration for the three new system MQMB7, MSN37, MSN34 was
assigned to MSN21 and vice versa. This bug affects MSN21 only and
likely requires backport to v4.19.

[ Upstream commit 589edb56b424876cbbf61547b987a1f57d7ea99d ]
Bay and Cherry Trail devices with a Dollar Cove or Whiskey Cove PMIC
have an ACPI node with a HID of INT33FE which is a "virtual" battery
device implementing a standard ACPI battery interface which depends upon
a proprietary, undocument OpRegion called BMOP. Since we do have docs
for the actual fuel-gauges used on these boards we instead use native
fuel-gauge drivers talking directly to the fuel-gauge ICs on boards which
rely on this INT33FE device for their battery monitoring.
On boards with a Dollar Cove PMIC the INT33FE device's resources (_CRS)
describe a non-existing I2C client at address 0x6b with a bus-speed of
100KHz. This is a problem on some boards since there are actual devices
on that same bus which need a speed of 400KHz to function properly.
This commit adds the INT33FE HID to the list of devices with I2C resources
which should be enumerated as a platform-device rather then letting the
i2c-core instantiate an i2c-client matching the first I2C resource,
so that its bus-speed will not influence the max speed of the I2C bus.
This fixes e.g. the touchscreen not working on the Teclast X98 II Plus.
The INT33FE device on boards with a Whiskey Cove PMIC is somewhat special.
Its first I2C resource is for a secondary I2C address of the PMIC itself,
which is already described in an ACPI device with an INT34D3 HID.
But it has 3 more I2C resources describing 3 other chips for which we do
need to instantiate I2C clients and which need device-connections added
between them for things to work properly. This special case is handled by
the drivers/platform/x86/intel_cht_int33fe.c code.
Before this commit that code was binding to the i2c-client instantiated
for the secondary I2C address of the PMIC, since we now instantiate a
platform device for the INT33FE device instead, this commit also changes
the intel_cht_int33fe driver from an i2c driver to a platform driver.
This also brings the intel_cht_int33fe drv inline with how we instantiate
multiple i2c clients from a single ACPI device in other cases, as done
by the drivers/platform/x86/i2c-multi-instantiate.c code.
