commit c1492da3939c89372929e062d731f328f7693f1e upstream.
The pinctrl and GPIO core code make exceptions for the -ENOTSUPP error
code. One such example is gpio_set_config_with_argument_optional(),
which returns success when gpio_set_config_with_argument() returns
-ENOTSUPP, but reports failure for all other error codes.
Returning -EOPNOTSUPP from the pinctrl driver on the unsupported pinctrl
operation may lead to boot failures when pinctrl drivers implements
struct gpio_chip::set_config, the system uses GPIO hogs, and the
struct gpio_chip::set_config implementation returns -EOPNOTSUPP for the
unsupported operations.
Return -ENOTSUPP for the unsupported pinctrl operation.

commit dad6e107b3cd9d20514e7799b7ad8674f81e3f30 upstream.
drivers/pinctrl/pinctrl-bm1880.c initialises its pinconf_ops with
.is_generic = true, but that field is only present when
CONFIG_GENERIC_PINCONF is enabled (guarded by #ifdef in pinconf.h).
The Kconfig entry for PINCTRL_BM1880 never selects GENERIC_PINCONF,
so any config that enables CONFIG_PINCTRL_BM1880=y without
CONFIG_GENERIC_PINCONF=y fails to compile:
drivers/pinctrl/pinctrl-bm1880.c:1288:10: error: 'const struct pinconf_ops' has no member named 'is_generic'

commit 015b5bcbcb622b32317642be91a7f79aa5413649 upstream.
dt_remember_or_free_map() duplicates dev_name for each map entry. If
kstrdup_const() fails, dt_free_map() frees dev_name in all num_maps
entries, including entries that have not been initialized.
Some pinctrl drivers, including pinctrl-imx, allocate the map with
kmalloc() and leave dev_name for the core to initialize. The untouched
entries therefore contain uninitialized data which is passed to
kfree_const().
Reproduced on qemu's mcimx6ul-evk (pinctrl-imx) with failslab injection
while binding the pinctrl-consuming device, under KASAN:
BUG: KASAN: double-free in dt_free_map+0x34/0xa4
Free of addr c425a900 by task init/1
kfree from dt_free_map+0x34/0xa4
dt_free_map from dt_remember_or_free_map+0x184/0x198
dt_remember_or_free_map from pinctrl_dt_to_map+0x33c/0x4c8
pinctrl_dt_to_map from create_pinctrl+0x9c/0x5c0
Initialize all dev_name fields to NULL before duplicating the device
name, making the full-map cleanup safe after a partial failure.

commit 25cb6e9a13123d1039cdc75b446ac52e1ebdc26d upstream.
The driver calls ocelot_regmap_from_resource() via <linux/mfd/ocelot.h>,

The Kconfig entry does not select REGMAP_MMIO, causing a build failure

[ Upstream commit ffe8a0c6b55285ceaf2f42fc20c3a0594d14f1e9 ]
commit 6bc3462a0f5e ("pinctrl: amd: Mask wake bits on probe again")
introduced a regression where Wake-on-LAN no longer works after suspend
or shutdown on some AMD platforms.
Firmware-programmed S4 wake bits for devices like PCIe NICs using PCI
PME are cleared at probe, but nothing restores them. Unlike S0i3/S3 wake
sources that use enable_irq_wake() -> amd_gpio_irq_set_wake(), PCIe PME
does not use GPIO IRQ infrastructure and relies on firmware configuration.
The original intent of commit 6bc3462a0f5e ("pinctrl: amd: Mask wake
bits on probe again") was to clear spurious wake bits left by firmware
to prevent unwanted wakeups. However, S4 wake bits are used for
hardware-level wake sources like WoL that bypass the kernel's IRQ wake
API.
Fix by preserving S4 wake bits at probe and only clearing S0i3/S3 bits:
- Firmware-configured S4 wake sources (WoL) continue working
- Kernel maintains control of S3/S0i3 wake policy via set_wake()
- S3-only wake sources work correctly per commit f31f33dbb3ba ("pinctrl:
amd: Take suspend type into consideration which pins are non-wake")
The trade-off is that firmware-programmed spurious S4 wake bits remain
set, but this is less problematic than breaking WoL.

[ Upstream commit 859e02a369ab328a77dfcabf59562100e55f9c5c ]
GPIO interrupts that are wakeup capable need to be forwarded to wakeup
capable parent irqchip. This is done via writing to it's wakeup_enable bit.
Currently the bit is set only for PDC irqchip by checking skip_wake_irqs.
skip_wake_irqs is set to differentiate between parent irqchips MPM and
PDC. It is set when the parent irqchip is PDC to inform pinctrl about
skipping the IRQ setting up at TLMM.
However, the functionality to forward GPIO interrupts during SoC low
power mode is needed regardless of which parent irqchip it is.
Without the functionality it is impossible for MPM irqchip to detect the
GPIO interrupt during SoC low power mode since for MPM irqchip the
skip_wake_irqs is always false.
Remove skip_wake_irqs condition when setting wakeup enable bit to allow
forwarding GPIO interrupts for SoCs using MPM irqchip too.

[ Upstream commit 9777530157e7b82fd994327ff878c4245dadc931 ]
Commit 28f240683871 ("pinctrl: meson: mark the GPIO controller as
sleeping") set gpio_chip.can_sleep = true to work around
gpio-shared-proxy holding a spinlock across a sleeping pinctrl config
path. That locking bug is now fixed in the shared-proxy itself ("gpio:
shared-proxy: always serialize with a sleeping mutex"), so the
controller-wide workaround is no longer needed; the meson GPIO
controller does not sleep.
meson_gpio_get/set/direction_* access MMIO through regmap. The
regmap_mmio bus uses fast I/O (spinlock) locking, so these value
callbacks do not contain sleeping operations. Since gpio_chip.can_sleep
describes the get/set value path, restore can_sleep = false.
Marking the controller sleeping also broke atomic value consumers such
as w1-gpio (1-Wire bitbang): w1_io.c runs its read time slot under
local_irq_save() and uses the non-cansleep gpiod_set_value() /
gpiod_get_value(), which with can_sleep=true trigger WARN_ON(can_sleep)
in gpiolib on every transferred bit (from w1_gpio_write_bit() /
w1_gpio_read_bit() via w1_reset_bus() and w1_search()). The printk and
stack dump inside the IRQs-off, microsecond-scale time slot destroy the
bit timing, so reset/presence detection and ROM search fail: the bus
master registers but w1_master_slave_count stays at 0 and no devices
are found. Verified on an Amlogic A113X board (DS18B20 on GPIOA_14):
with can_sleep restored to false the warnings are gone and the sensor
is detected and read again.
This must not be applied or backported without the shared-proxy locking
fix above; otherwise the original Khadas VIM3 splat returns on boards
that genuinely share a meson GPIO.

Each GPIO bank has two 32-bit MFP registers: MFPL covering pins 0-7
at the bank base offset, and MFPH covering pins 8-15 at base offset+4.
ma35_pinctrl_parse_groups() computed the register address without
accounting for this split, so any pin with an index >= 8 within its
bank was written to the wrong register.
Also fix the pin descriptor table in pinctrl-ma35d1.c: switch from

of_parse_phandle_with_args() returns a device_node pointer with refcount
incremented in gpiospec.np. The loop iterates through all phandles but
never releases the reference, causing a refcount leak on each iteration.
Add of_node_put() calls to release the reference after extracting the
needed arguments and on the error path when devm_kzalloc() fails.
This bug was detected by our static analysis tool and verified by my

Qualcomm SC7280 and SM8350 SoCs have slightly different LPASS audio
blocks (v9.4.5 and v9.2), however the LPASS LPI pin controllers are
exactly the same. The driver for SM8350 has two issues, which can be
fixed by simply moving over to SC7280 driver which has them correct:
1. "i2s2_data_groups" listed twice GPIO12, but should have both GPIO12
and GPIO13,
2. "swr_tx_data_groups" contained GPIO5 for "swr_tx_data2" function, but
that function is also available on GPIO14, thus listing it twice is
not necessary. OTOH, GPIO5 has also "swr_rx_data1", so selecting
swr_rx_data function should not block the TX one.

commit 7ca497be00163610afb663867db24ac408752f13 upstream.
Marking the whole controller as sleeping due to the pinctrl calls in the
.direction_{input,output} callbacks has the unfortunate side effect that
legitimate invocations of .get and .set, which cannot themselves sleep,
in atomic context now spew WARN()s from gpiolib.
However, as Heiko points out, the driver doing this is a bit silly to
begin with, as the pinctrl .gpio_set_direction hook doesn't even care
about the direction, the hook is only used to claim the mux. And sure
enough, the .gpio_request_enable hook exists to serve this very purpose,
so switch to that and remove the problematic business entirely.

commit 44bf66122c12ef6d3382a9b84b9be1802e5f0e95 upstream.
Commit 1d2da79708cb ("pinctrl: renesas: rzg2l: Avoid configuring ISEL in
gpio_irq_{en,dis}able*()") dropped the configuration of ISEL from
struct irq_chip::{irq_enable, irq_disable} APIs and moved it to
struct gpio_chip::irq::{child_to_parent_hwirq,
child_irq_domain_ops::free} APIs to fix spurious IRQs.
After commit 1d2da79708cb ("pinctrl: renesas: rzg2l: Avoid configuring ISEL
in gpio_irq_{en,dis}able*()"), ISEL was no longer configured properly on
resume. This is because the pinctrl resume code used
struct irq_chip::irq_enable (called from rzg2l_gpio_irq_restore()) to
reconfigure the wakeup interrupts. Some drivers (e.g. Ethernet) may also
reconfigure non-wakeup interrupts on resume through their own code,
eventually calling struct irq_chip::irq_enable.
Fix this by adding ISEL configuration back into the
struct irq_chip::irq_enable API and on resume path for wakeup interrupts.
As struct irq_chip::irq_enable needs now to lock to update the ISEL,
convert the struct rzg2l_pinctrl::lock to a raw spinlock and replace the
locking API calls with the raw variants. Otherwise the lockdep reports
invalid wait context when probing the adv7511 module on RZ/G2L:

Having ISEL configuration back into the struct irq_chip::irq_enable API
should be safe with respect to spurious IRQs, as in the probe case IRQs
are enabled anyway in struct gpio_chip::irq::child_to_parent_hwirq. No
spurious IRQs were detected on suspend/resume, boot, ethernet link
insert/remove tests (executed on RZ/G3S). Boot, ethernet link
insert/remove tests were also executed successfully on RZ/G2L.

pcs_pinconf_get() and pcs_pinconf_set() declare ret as unsigned int,
but assign it the return values of pcs_get_function() that may return
negative error codes. This causes negative error codes to be

In stm32_pctl_probe(), hwspin_lock_request_specific() is called to
request a hwspinlock, but the acquired lock is not freed on multiple
error paths after this call. This causes resource leakage when the

Use devm_hwspin_lock_request_specific() instead of

Replace disable_irq() with disable_irq_nosync() in msm_pinmux_set_mux()
to prevent deadlock when wakeup IRQ is triggered on the same
GPIO being reconfigured.
The issue occurs when a wakeup IRQ is triggered on a GPIO and the IRQ
handler attempts to reconfigure the same GPIO's pinmux. In this scenario,
msm_pinmux_set_mux() calls disable_irq() which waits for the currently
running IRQ handler to complete, creating a circular dependency that
results in deadlock.
Using disable_irq_nosync() avoids waiting for the IRQ handler to
complete, preventing the deadlock condition while still properly
disabling the interrupt during pinmux reconfiguration.

Unlike all the other allocations in this driver, the memory for storing
the pin function descriptions allocated with kcalloc() and later resized
with krealloc() is never freed. Use devres like elsewhere to handle
that. While at it - replace krealloc() with more suitable
devm_krealloc_array().
Note: the logic in this module is pretty convoluted and could probably
use some revisiting, we should probably be able to calculate the exact
amount of memory needed in advance or even skip the allocation
altogether and just add each function to the radix tree separately.

In the pin_config_set function, when handling PIN_CONFIG_BIAS_PULL_DOWN or
PIN_CONFIG_BIAS_PULL_UP, the function calls pcs_pinconf_clear_bias()
which writes the register. However, the subsequent operations continue
using the stale 'data' value from before the register write, effectively
causing the bias clear operation to be overwritten and not take effect.
Fix this by reading the 'data' value from the register after calling
pcs_pinconf_clear_bias().
This bug seems to have existed when this code was first merged in commit
9dddb4df90d1 ("pinctrl: single: support generic pinconf").

commit 4002ee98c022d671ecc1e4a84029e9ae7d8a5603 upstream.
While the API contract in docs doesn't specify it explicitly, the
generic implementation of the get_function_name() callback from struct
pinmux_ops - pinmux_generic_get_function_name() - can fail and return
NULL. This is already checked in pinmux_check_ops() so add a similar
check in pinmux_func_name_to_selector() instead of passing the returned
pointer right down to strcmp() where the NULL can get dereferenced. This
is normal operation when adding new pinfunctions.
