2024-05-25pinctrl: core: handle radix_tree_insert() errors in pinctrl_register_one_pin()Sergey Shtylyov1-3/+11
commit ecfe9a015d3e1e46504d5b3de7eef1f2d186194a upstream. pinctrl_register_one_pin() doesn't check the result of radix_tree_insert() despite they both may return a negative error code. Linus Walleij said he has copied the radix tree code from kernel/irq/ where the functions calling radix_tree_insert() are *void* themselves; I think it makes more sense to propagate the errors from radix_tree_insert() upstream if we can do that... 2024-05-17pinctrl: mediatek: paris: Rework support for PIN_CONFIG_{INPUT,OUTPUT}_ENABLEChen-Yu Tsai1-27/+11
[ Upstream commit c5d3b64c568a344e998830e0e94a7c04e372f89b ] There is a misinterpretation of some of the PIN_CONFIG_* options in this driver library. PIN_CONFIG_OUTPUT_ENABLE should refer to a buffer or switch in the output direction of the electrical path. The MediaTek hardware does not have such a thing. The driver incorrectly maps this option to the GPIO function's direction. Likewise, PIN_CONFIG_INPUT_ENABLE should refer to a buffer or switch in the input direction. The hardware does have such a mechanism, and is mapped to the IES bit. The driver however sets the direction in addition to the IES bit, which is incorrect. On readback, the IES bit isn't even considered. Ironically, the driver does not support readback for PIN_CONFIG_OUTPUT, while its readback of PIN_CONFIG_{INPUT,OUTPUT}_ENABLE is what it should be doing for PIN_CONFIG_OUTPUT. Rework support for these three options, so that PIN_CONFIG_OUTPUT_ENABLE is completely removed, PIN_CONFIG_INPUT_ENABLE is only linked to the IES bit, and PIN_CONFIG_OUTPUT is linked to the GPIO function's direction and output level. 2024-05-17pinctrl: mediatek: paris: Fix PIN_CONFIG_INPUT_SCHMITT_ENABLE readbackChen-Yu Tsai1-0/+2
[ Upstream commit 08f66a8edd08f6f7cfa769c81634b29a2b123908 ] In the generic pin config library, readback of some options are handled differently compared to the setting of those options: the argument value is used to convey enable/disable of an option in the set path, but success or -EINVAL is used to convey if an option is enabled or disabled in the debugfs readback path. PIN_CONFIG_INPUT_SCHMITT_ENABLE is one such option. Fix the readback of the option in the mediatek-paris library, so that the debugfs dump is not showing "input schmitt enabled" for pins that don't have it enabled. 2024-05-17pinctrl: mediatek: paris: Rework mtk_pinconf_{get,set} switch/case logicChen-Yu Tsai1-83/+61
[ Upstream commit 9b780fa1ff14663c2e0f07ad098b96b8337f27a4 ] The current code deals with optional features by testing for the function pointers and returning -ENOTSUPP if it is not valid. This is done for multiple pin config settings and results in the code that handles the supporting cases to get indented by one level. This is aggrevated by the fact that some features require another level of conditionals. Instead of assigning the same error code in all unsupported optional feature cases, simply have that error code as the default, and break out of the switch/case block whenever a feature is unsupported, or an error is returned. This reduces indentation by one level for the useful code. Also replace the goto statements with break statements. The result is the same, as the gotos simply exit the switch/case block, which can also be achieved with a break statement. With the latter the intent is clear and easier to understand. [ Upstream commit 5038a66dad0199de60e5671603ea6623eb9e5c79 ] The "pctldev" struct is allocated in devm_pinctrl_register_and_init(). It's a devm_ managed pointer that is freed by devm_pinctrl_dev_release(), so freeing it in pinctrl_enable() will lead to a double free. 2024-04-13pinctrl: renesas: checker: Limit cfg reg enum checks to provided IDsGeert Uytterhoeven1-1/+3
[ Upstream commit 3803584a4e9b65bb5b013f862f55c5055aa86c25 ] If the number of provided enum IDs in a variable width config register description does not match the expected number, the checker uses the expected number for validating the individual enum IDs. However, this may cause out-of-bounds accesses on the array holding the enum IDs, leading to bogus enum_id conflict warnings. Worse, if the bug is an incorrect bit field description (e.g. accidentally using "12" instead of "-12" for a reserved field), thousands of warnings may be printed, overflowing the kernel log buffer. When in the list_for_each_entry iteration, reload of p->state->settings with a local setting from old_state will turn the list iteration into an infinite loop. 2023-07-27pinctrl: amd: Use amd_pinconf_set() for all config optionsMario Limonciello1-13/+15
[ Upstream commit 635a750d958e158e17af0f524bedc484b27fbb93 ] On ASUS TUF A16 it is reported that the ITE5570 ACPI device connected to GPIO 7 is causing an interrupt storm. This issue doesn't happen on Windows. Comparing the GPIO register configuration between Windows and Linux bit 20 has been configured as a pull up on Windows, but not on Linux. Checking GPIO declaration from the firmware it is clear it *should* have been a pull up on Linux as well. ``` GpioInt (Level, ActiveLow, Exclusive, PullUp, 0x0000, "\\_SB.GPIO", 0x00, ResourceConsumer, ,) { // Pin list 0x0007 } ``` On Linux amd_gpio_set_config() is currently only used for programming the debounce. Actually the GPIO core calls it with all the arguments that are supported by a GPIO, pinctrl-amd just responds `-ENOTSUPP`. To solve this issue expand amd_gpio_set_config() to support the other arguments amd_pinconf_set() supports, namely `PIN_CONFIG_BIAS_PULL_DOWN`, `PIN_CONFIG_BIAS_PULL_UP`, and `PIN_CONFIG_DRIVE_STRENGTH`. 2023-07-27pinctrl: amd: Detect internal GPIO0 debounce handlingMario Limonciello2-0/+8
commit 968ab9261627fa305307e3935ca1a32fcddd36cb upstream. commit 4e5a04be88fe ("pinctrl: amd: disable and mask interrupts on probe") had a mistake in loop iteration 63 that it would clear offset 0xFC instead of 0x100. Offset 0xFC is actually `WAKE_INT_MASTER_REG`. This was clearing bits 13 and 15 from the register which significantly changed the expected handling for some platforms for GPIO0. commit b26cd9325be4 ("pinctrl: amd: Disable and mask interrupts on resume") actually fixed this bug, but lead to regressions on Lenovo Z13 and some other systems. This is because there was no handling in the driver for bit 15 debounce behavior. Quoting a public BKDG: ``` EnWinBlueBtn. Read-write. Reset: 0. 0=GPIO0 detect debounced power button; Power button override is 4 seconds. 1=GPIO0 detect debounced power button in S3/S5/S0i3, and detect "pressed less than 2 seconds" and "pressed 2~10 seconds" in S0; Power button override is 10 seconds ``` Cross referencing the same master register in Windows it's obvious that Windows doesn't use debounce values in this configuration. So align the Linux driver to do this as well. This fixes wake on lid when WAKE_INT_MASTER_REG is properly programmed. commit b26cd9325be4c1fcd331b77f10acb627c560d4d7 upstream. This fixes a similar problem to the one observed in: commit 4e5a04be88fe ("pinctrl: amd: disable and mask interrupts on probe"). On some systems, during suspend/resume cycle firmware leaves an interrupt enabled on a pin that is not used by the kernel. This confuses the AMD pinctrl driver and causes spurious interrupts.
