2019-04-27rt2x00: do not increment sequence number while re-transmittingVijayakumar Durai1-6/+9
commit 746ba11f170603bf1eaade817553a6c2e9135bbe upstream. Currently rt2x00 devices retransmit the management frames with incremented sequence number if hardware is assigning the sequence. This is HW bug fixed already for non-QOS data frames, but it should be fixed for management frames except beacon. Without fix retransmitted frames have wrong SN: AlphaNet_e8:fb:36 Vivotek_52:31:51 Authentication, SN=1648, FN=0, Flags=........C Frame is not being retransmitted 1648 1 AlphaNet_e8:fb:36 Vivotek_52:31:51 Authentication, SN=1649, FN=0, Flags=....R...C Frame is being retransmitted 1649 1 AlphaNet_e8:fb:36 Vivotek_52:31:51 Authentication, SN=1650, FN=0, Flags=....R...C Frame is being retransmitted 1650 1 With the fix SN stays correctly the same: 88:6a:e3:e8:f9:a2 8c:f5:a3:88:76:87 Authentication, SN=1450, FN=0, Flags=........C 88:6a:e3:e8:f9:a2 8c:f5:a3:88:76:87 Authentication, SN=1450, FN=0, Flags=....R...C 88:6a:e3:e8:f9:a2 8c:f5:a3:88:76:87 Authentication, SN=1450, FN=0, Flags=....R...C Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Vijayakumar Durai <vijayakumar.durai1@vivint.com> [sgruszka: simplify code, change comments and changelog] Signed-off-by: Stanislaw Gruszka <sgruszka@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2018-06-05Revert "rt2800: use TXOP_BACKOFF for probe frames"Stanislaw Gruszka1-4/+3
commit 52a192362932f333a7ebafd581c4d9b81da2fec8 upstream. This reverts commit fb47ada8dc3c30c8e7b415da155742b49536c61e. In some situations when we set TXOP_BACKOFF, the probe frame is not sent at all. What it worse then sending probe frame as part of AMPDU and can degrade 11n performance to 11g rates. 2017-03-08rt2800: use TXOP_BACKOFF for probe framesStanislaw Gruszka1-3/+4
Even if we do not set AMPDU bit in TXWI, device still can aggregate frame and send it with rate not corresponding to requested. That mean we can do not sent probe frames with requested rate. To prevent that use TXOP_BACKOFF for probe frames. Signed-off-by: Stanislaw Gruszka <sgruszka@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2017-02-08rt2x00: remove queue_entry from skbdescStanislaw Gruszka1-3/+0
queue_entry field of skbdesc is not read any more, remove it to allow skbdesc contain other data. Signed-off-by: Stanislaw Gruszka <sgruszka@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>

2016-12-30rt2800: don't set ht parameters for non-aggregated framesStanislaw Gruszka1-6/+6
Do not set ampdu_density and ba_size for frames without AMPDU bit i.e. frames that will not be aggregated to AMPDU. Signed-off-by: Stanislaw Gruszka <sgruszka@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
