2023-09-23Fix nomenclature for USB and PCI wireless devicesAlan Stern1-1/+1
[ Upstream commit 5d7cf67f72ae34d38e090bdfa673da4aefe4048e ] A mouse that uses a USB connection is called a "USB mouse" device (or "USB mouse" for short), not a "mouse USB" device. By analogy, a WiFi adapter that connects to the host computer via USB is a "USB wireless" device, not a "wireless USB" device. (The latter term more properly refers to a defunct Wireless USB specification, which described a technology for sending USB protocol messages over an ultra wideband radio link.) Similarly for a WiFi adapter card that plugs into a PCIe slot: It is a "PCIe wireless" device, not a "wireless PCIe" device. Rephrase the text in the kernel source where the word ordering is wrong. 2020-06-13treewide: replace '---help---' in Kconfig files with 'help'Masahiro Yamada1-21/+21
Since commit 84af7a6194e4 ("checkpatch: kconfig: prefer 'help' over '---help---'"), the number of '---help---' has been gradually decreasing, but there are still more than 2400 instances. This commit finishes the conversion. While I touched the lines, I also fixed the indentation. There are a variety of indentation styles found. a) 4 spaces + '---help---' b) 7 spaces + '---help---' c) 8 spaces + '---help---' d) 1 space + 1 tab + '---help---' e) 1 tab + '---help---' (correct indentation) f) 1 tab + 1 space + '---help---' g) 1 tab + 2 spaces + '---help---' In order to convert all of them to 1 tab + 'help', I ran the following commend: $ find . -name 'Kconfig*' | xargs sed -i 's/^[[:space:]]*---help---/\thelp/' Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <masahiroy@kernel.org>
