2013-03-26mwifiex: add support to configure VHT for AP modeYogesh Ashok Powar1-0/+4
Currently, default VHT configuration from the firmware is used for the VHT operations. Adding vhtcfg command to configure the firmware based on input received from cfg. Enable VHT for AP mode only when cfg80211_ap_settings has a VHT IE i.e., when ieee80211ac is set to 1 in the hostapd.conf. Appropriate packet filters for wowlan are configured in firmware based on provided patterns and/or magic-packet option. 2013-02-19mwifiex: add 802.11AC supportYogesh Ashok Powar1-1/+1
For STA mode, collect VHT realated IEs from the Beacons or Probe Responses and append similar VHT related IEs to association requests. For AP mode, get VHT related capability information and share it with cfg80211 at the time of wiphy register. This information is further used by cfg80211 and hostapd to start an AP with 802.11AC support. Currently only 8897 supports 802.11AC. 2013-01-08mwifiex: use pci_alloc/free_consistent APIs for PCIeAvinash Patil1-5/+5
This patch uses pci_alloc_consistent and pci_free_consistent APIs for mwifiex_pcie driver. Consistent DMA memory is allocated for TX, RX and event rings. Command buffer and command response buffer also uses map/unmap memory APIs to download commands and get command responses. 2012-09-28mwifiex: send firmware initialization commands synchronouslyStone Piao1-32/+33
The driver will send some commands to firmware during the initialization. Currently these commands are sent asynchronously, which means that we firstly insert all of them to a pre-allocated command queue, and then start to process them one by one. The command queue will soon be exhausted if we keep adding new initialization commands. This issue can be resolved by sending initialization commands synchronously because each command is consumed and the buffer is recycled before queuing next command. 2012-08-10mwifiex: fix 'smatch' warning in preparing key_material cmdBing Zhao1-1/+1
The key length can be 32 bytes for TKIP and 16 bytes for AES_CMAC. 'smatch' warns on memcpy using key_len variable to copy data to a 16 bytes buffer. Use fixed length to avoid the warning. 2012-07-17mwifiex: remove redundant code in set channel pathAmitkumar Karwar1-38/+0
1) Recently we removed set_channel cfg80211 handler. Also, cfg80211 blocks ibss connection requests if ibss network is already started /joined. Hence the code to restart ibss network in new channel (mwifiex_drv_change_adhoc_chan() function) becomes redundant. 2) mwifiex_bss_set_channel() function is redundant. It does some error checking and calculate adhoc start band and adhoc channel. Cfg80211 already takes care of error checking and provides correct channel information to the driver. Adhoc start band is already calculated in mwifiex_set_rf_channel() function. Other associated code is also removed in this patch. Adding casts of objects to the same type is unnecessary and confusing for a human reader. For example, this cast: int y; int *p = (int *)&y; I used the coccinelle script below to find and remove these unnecessary casts. I manually removed the conversions this script produces of casts with __force, __iomem and __user. @@ type T; T *p; @@ - (T *)p + p Neatened the mwifiex_deauthenticate_infra function which was doing odd things with array pointers and not using is_zero_ether_addr. In this handler LOW_RSSI and HIGH_RSSI events are subscribed to FW using provided threshold value so that FW will monitor connection quality and trigger any of these events. Prior to a5ffddb70c5cab "mwifiex: remove casts of void pointers" the code assumed that the data_buf parameter could be a NULL pointer. The patch preserved some NULL checks but not consistently, so there was a potential for NULL dereferences and it changed the behavior. This patch restores the original behavior.
