2015-02-27mwifiex: change datatype to bool for device capability flagsAvinash Patil1-3/+3
This patch changes datatypes for device capability flags to bool. Patch also aggregates these variables at single place. Signed-off-by: Avinash Patil <patila@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2015-01-27mwifiex: selectively choose ext_scan supportAvinash Patil1-0/+3
Some devices do not support extended scan. This patch adds support to enble ext_scan selectively. For SD/PCIe interfaces, deefine ext_scan_support as part of card structure and use it to initialize ext_scan in adapter during registering device. For USB interfaces, we initialize ext_scan during register_dev handler. 2014-06-25mwifiex: add firmware dump feature for PCIeAmitkumar Karwar1-0/+10
Firmware dump feature is added for PCIe based chipsets which can be used with the help of ethtool commands. 1) Trigger firmware dump operation: ethtool --set-dump mlan0 0xff When the operation is completed, udev event will be sent to trigger external application. 2) Following udev rule can be used to get the data from ethtool: DRIVER=="mwifiex_pcie", ACTION=="change", RUN+="/sbin/mwifiex_pcie_fw_dump.sh" mwifiex_pcie_fw_dump.sh: #!/bin/bash ethtool --set-dump mlan0 0 ethtool --get-dump mlan0 ethtool --get-dump mlan0 data /tmp/ITCM.log ethtool --set-dump mlan0 1 ethtool --get-dump mlan0 ethtool --get-dump mlan0 data /tmp/DTCM.log ethtool --set-dump mlan0 2 ethtool --get-dump mlan0 ethtool --get-dump mlan0 data /tmp/SQRAM.log ethtool --set-dump mlan0 3 ethtool --get-dump mlan0 ethtool --get-dump mlan0 data /tmp/IRAM.log Signed-off-by: Amitkumar Karwar <akarwar@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: Bing Zhao <bzhao@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: John W. 2014-03-19mwifiex: add support for sleep cookie in PCIeAvinash Patil1-0/+2
This patch adds support to read sleep cookie for command response before accessing buffer. Signed-off-by: Avinash Patil <patila@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: Bing Zhao <bzhao@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
2014-02-28mwifiex: change transmit buffer size for 8897Amitkumar Karwar1-0/+3
Currently default Tx buffer size configured to firmware is 2K for all chipsets. This patch changes it to 4K for SD/PCIe/USB 8897 chipsets as per firmware requirements. 2013-02-14mwifiex: device specific sleep cookie handling for PCIeAvinash Patil1-0/+3
This patch adds support for handling of PCIe sleep cookie depending upon device properties. Some PCIe devices need sleep cookie probing before accessing HW while some others don't. A new sleep_cookie variable is defined as part of mwifiex_pcie_card_reg strcture and set/reset as per device capability. Sleep cookie is allocated/accessed/freed only when flag sleep_cookie for this particular device is enabled. 2013-02-12mwifiex: add PCIe8897 supportAvinash Patil1-8/+91
This patch adds PCIe8897 support to mwifiex. In PCIe8897 PFU (pre-fetch unit) is enabled by default. This patch adds support to accommodate this feaure as well. 2013-02-12mwifiex: define generic data type for PCIe ring buffersAvinash Patil1-3/+9
This patch defines PCIe ring buffer array pointer as void instead of mwifiex_pcie_buf_desc. This will enable us to use same pointers for ring operations instead of new structures if buffer descriptor structure changes. Also split out event buffer descriptor structure from struct mwifiex_pcie_buf_desc. For PCIe8766 TX/RX buffer descriptor is same as evevt buffer descriptor. Newer chips could use different TX/RX buffer descriptor while event descriptor remains the same. 2013-02-12mwifiex: store card specific data in PCI device table entryAvinash Patil1-29/+84
This patch adds support for storing PCIe device specific data into driver_data structure of pci_device_id. When a device with known device_id is probed, we use this driver_data to populate card specific structres in driver. This enables to remove device specific defines for scratch registers, firmware name, FW download block size, etc. from source code. This will make addition of support for new chipsets a lot easier. 2013-01-08mwifiex: use map/unmap APIs in TX and RX to reduce memcpyAvinash Patil1-0/+11
This patch is an enhacement to mwifiex_pcie driver to use map/unmap PCI memory APIs. This reduces one memcpy each in TX path and RX path, and enhances throughput. 2013-01-08mwifiex: flush TX ring for PCIe after disconnect or bss stopAvinash Patil1-0/+13
This patch adds handler to clean PCIe TX rings after disconnect or bss stop is called for PCIe based mwifiex driver. Signed-off-by: Avinash Patil <patila@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: Bing Zhao <bzhao@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
2013-01-08mwifiex: use pci_alloc/free_consistent APIs for PCIeAvinash Patil1-4/+5
This patch uses pci_alloc_consistent and pci_free_consistent APIs for mwifiex_pcie driver. Consistent DMA memory is allocated for TX, RX and event rings. Command buffer and command response buffer also uses map/unmap memory APIs to download commands and get command responses. 2012-04-13mwifiex: update pcie8766 scratch register addressesBing Zhao1-9/+9
The scratch register addresses have been changed for newer chips. Since the old chip was never shipped and it will not be supported any more, just update register addresses to support the new chips.
