2023-10-23wifi: iwlwifi: fw: increase fw_version string sizeGregory Greenman1-1/+1
In reality 64 bytes are enough to hold fw version string, but some compilers can complain (with W=1) that output may be truncated when building this string with snprintf. Increase the size to avoid this sort of warnings and state explicitely that we want the size to be trancated to 32 bytes. 2021-12-07iwlwifi: support 4-bits in MAC step valueMike Golant1-6/+2
We have a MAC component (which is inside the SoC) and it has several different HW steps. 3 bits used to be enough but now we need 4-bits to represent all the different steps. Properly support 4-bits in the MAC step value by refactoring all the current handling of the MAC step/dash. Already from family 8000 and up the dash (bits 0-1) no longer exists and the step (until 8000 bits 2-3) consists of the dash bits as well. To do this remove the CSR_HW_REV_STEP and the CSR_HW_REV_DASH macros, replace them with CSR_HW_REV_STEP_DASH and add hw_rev_step into the trans struct. In addition remove the CSR_HW_IF_CONFIG_REG_MSK_MAC_STEP and CSR_HW_IF_CONFIG_REG_MSK_MAC_DASH macros and create a new macro combining the 2 (this way we don't need shifting or anything else.) In order to be able to select the cfg depending on the HW revision or on the RF ID, we need to set up the trans before selecting the cfg. To do so, move the elements from cfg that are needed by iwl_trans_alloc() to a separate struct at the top of the cfg, so it can be used by other cfg types as well, before selecting the rest of the configuration. 2018-12-14iwlwifi: move iwl_nvm_check_version() into dvmLuca Coelho1-0/+17
This function is only half-used by mvm (i.e. only the nvm_version part matters, since the calibration version is irrelevant), so it's pointless to export it from iwlwifi. If mvm uses this function, it has the additional complexity of setting the calib version to a bogus value on all cfg structs. 2016-07-06iwlwifi: decouple PCIe transport from mac80211Johannes Berg1-0/+2
The PCIe transport needs to store two pointers in each TX SKB, and currently assumes mac80211's ieee80211_tx_info is present in the CB to do that. In order to remove that assumption, have the opmodes pass in the offset to where the pointers can be stored in the CB and use the offset in the PCIe code. To make the disentanglement complete, remove mac80211.h includes from everywhere in the generic iwlwifi code. This required adding an include of cfg80211.h in one place. The new hardware that supports multiple queue also de-aggregates A-MSDUs. This means that we can advertise the maximal size of A-MSDUs regardless of the receive buffer's size. In order to be able to forcefully use a lower A-MSDU size, add a default value for the module parameter. Pre-9000 will have a default of 4K, and 9000 will have 12K. Setting the amsdu_size module parameter to 4K will limit the A-MSDU on 9000 as well. Use alloc_ordered_workqueue() to allocate the workqueue instead of create_singlethread_workqueue() since the latter is deprecated and is scheduled for removal. There are work items doing related operations that shouldn't be swapped when queued in a certain order hence preserve the strict execution ordering of a single threaded (ST) workqueue by switching to alloc_ordered_workqueue(). WQ_MEM_RECLAIM flag is not needed since the worker is not depended during memory reclaim. Just change the variable names in the code and the name of the data in the log that we print withouth any functional change. 802.11ac allows A-MSDU that can be up to 12KB long. Since an entire A-MSDU needs to fit into one single Receive Buffer (RB), add support for big RBs. Since this adds lots of pressure to the memory manager and significantly increase the true_size of the RX buffers, don't enable this by default.
