2015-09-29brcmfmac: Fix race condition bug when deleting p2p interface.Hante Meuleman1-8/+14
When p2p device interface gets deleted by deinitialising discovery it will result in an event which removes the interface, but that is also done by delete p2p interface code. This results in race condition which sometimes results in lockup/crash. With this patch the delete device interface will wait for the event (with timeout) removing the possible race condition. Also on the stop device call from cfg80211 the deinitialisation of the discovery device should be avoided as it can result in a similar situation. When a p2p device gets deleted, the memory for the vif is not being released. This is solved by reorganizing the cleanup path and properly freeing the memory. When the p2pon module param is used then p2p attach will initialize p2p device iface in the firmware, but it is doing that by checking data. It is cleaner to pass the p2pon information to p2p by API. When freeing the driver ifp pointer it should also be removed from the driver interface list, which is what brcmf_remove_interface() does. Otherwise, the ifp pointer will be freed twice triggering a kernel oops. This will expose in /sys whether the ifname of a device is set by userspace or generated by the kernel. The latter kind (wlanX, etc) is not deterministic, so userspace needs to rename these devices to names that are guaranteed to stay the same between reboots. The former, however should never be renamed, so userspace needs to be able to reliably tell the difference. 2014-08-26cfg80211: remove @gfp parameter from cfg80211_rx_mgmt()Vladimir Kondratiev1-4/+2
In the cfg80211_rx_mgmt(), parameter @gfp was used for the memory allocation. But, memory get allocated under spin_lock_bh(), this implies atomic context. So, one can't use GFP_KERNEL, only variants with no __GFP_WAIT. Actually, in all occurrences GFP_ATOMIC is used (wil6210 use GFP_KERNEL by mistake), and it should be this way or warning triggered in the memory allocation code. Remove @gfp parameter as no actual choice exist, and use hard coded GFP_ATOMIC for memory allocation. semantics Applying ++ to a bool is equivalent to setting it true, regardless of its initial value (bools are not uint1_t). Hence the function wl_get_vif_state_all can only ever return true/false. The only in-tree caller uses its return value as a boolean. So update its return type, and since the list traversal and bit testing have no side effects, just return true immediately. Its return value tells if any vif is in the specified state, so also rename it to brcmf_get_vif_state_any. The destructor for net devices was set to free_netdev() to get rid of it and the private data. The private data refers to a brcmf_if instance, but indirectly it also refers to brcmf_cfg80211_vif which holds the wdev. These two flags are used for the same purpose, just combine them into a no-ir flag to annotate no initiating radiation is allowed. Old userspace sending either flag will have it treated as the no-ir flag. To be considerate to older userspace we also send both the no-ir flag and the old no-ibss flags. Newer userspace will have to be aware of older kernels. The current driver code creates a P2P_DEVICE through a module parameter. This device has a dummy netdevice which is not how this interface type is intended. This patch add proper support for the P2P_DEVICE interface type. This requires a wpa_supplicant with such support as well. Wiphy object holds information about possible netdev combinations which can be supported. This needs updating for p2p device. Also p2p device netdev has wrong 80211 iftype. Limit the change interface support to match the netdev configuration/combination possibilities.
