2021-11-26ath6kl: fix division by zero in send pathJohan Hovold1-0/+5

Add the missing endpoint max-packet sanity check to probe() to avoid division by zero in ath10k_usb_hif_tx_sg() in case a malicious device has broken descriptors (or when doing descriptor fuzz testing). Note that USB core will reject URBs submitted for endpoints with zero wMaxPacketSize but that drivers doing packet-size calculations still need to handle this (cf. commit 2548288b4fb0 ("USB: Fix: Don't skip endpoint descriptors with maxpacket=0")). However, ath6kl_cfg80211_scan_complete_event() was missed in that change. Fix its indexing so that we correctly clear out the probed SSID list. [ Upstream commit fb376a495fbdb886f38cfaf5a3805401b9e46f13 ] Commit dd45b7598f1c ("ath6kl: Include match ssid list in scheduled scan") merged the probed and matched SSID lists before sending them to the firmware. In the process, it assumed match set support is always available in ath6kl_set_probed_ssids, which breaks scans for hidden SSIDs. Now, check that the firmware supports matching SSIDs in scheduled scans before setting MATCH_SSID_FLAG. [ Upstream commit 39d170b3cb62ba98567f5c4f40c27b5864b304e5 ] The `ar_usb` field of `ath6kl_usb_pipe_usb_pipe` objects are initialized to point to the containing `ath6kl_usb` object according to endpoint descriptors read from the device side, as shown below in `ath6kl_usb_setup_pipe_resources`: for (i = 0; i < iface_desc->desc.bNumEndpoints; ++i) { endpoint = &iface_desc->endpoint[i].desc; // get the address from endpoint descriptor pipe_num = ath6kl_usb_get_logical_pipe_num(ar_usb, endpoint->bEndpointAddress, &urbcount); ...... // select the pipe object pipe = &ar_usb->pipes[pipe_num]; // initialize the ar_usb field pipe->ar_usb = ar_usb; } The driver assumes that the addresses reported in endpoint descriptors from device side to be complete. If a device is malicious and does not report complete addresses, it may trigger NULL-ptr-deref `ath6kl_usb_alloc_urb_from_pipe` and `ath6kl_usb_free_urb_to_pipe`. This patch fixes the bug by preventing potential NULL-ptr-deref (CVE-2019-15098). 2019-07-26ath6kl: add some bounds checkingDan Carpenter1-1/+9
[ Upstream commit 5d6751eaff672ea77642e74e92e6c0ac7f9709ab ] The "ev->traffic_class" and "reply->ac" variables come from the network and they're used as an offset into the wmi->stream_exist_for_ac[] array. Those variables are u8 so they can be 0-255 but the stream_exist_for_ac[] array only has WMM_NUM_AC (4) elements. We need to add a couple bounds checks to prevent array overflows. I also modified one existing check from "if (traffic_class > 3) {" to "if (traffic_class >= WMM_NUM_AC) {" just to make them all consistent. 2018-07-31ath6kl: replace GFP_ATOMIC with GFP_KERNEL in ath6kl_bmi_init()Jia-Ju Bai1-1/+1
ath6kl_bmi_init() is never called in atomic context. It calls kzalloc() with GFP_ATOMIC, which is not necessary. GFP_ATOMIC can be replaced with GFP_KERNEL. 2018-06-27wireless-drivers: use BIT_ULL for NL80211_STA_INFO_ attribute typesOmer Efrat1-7/+7
The BIT macro uses unsigned long which some architectures handle as 32 bit and therefore might cause macro's shift to overflow when used on a value equals or larger than 32 (NL80211_STA_INFO_RX_DURATION and afterwards). Since 'filled' member in station_info changed to u64, BIT_ULL macro should be used with all NL80211_STA_INFO_* attribute types instead of BIT to prevent future possible bugs when one will use BIT macro for higher attributes by mistake. This commit cleans up all usages of BIT macro with the above field in wireless-drivers by changing it to BIT_ULL instead. The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This patch replaces cases of: kzalloc(a * b, gfp) with: kcalloc(a * b, gfp) as well as handling cases of: kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp) with: kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp) as it's slightly less ugly than: kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp) This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like: kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp) though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion. Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were dropped, since they're redundant. 2017-11-02License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no licenseGreg Kroah-Hartman1-0/+1
Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license. By default all files without license information are under the default license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2. Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0' SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and Philippe Ombredanne. How this work was done: Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of the use cases: - file had no licensing information it it. - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it, - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information, Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords. The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files. The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s) to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was: - Files considered eligible had to be source code files. - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5 lines of source - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5 lines). All documentation files were explicitly excluded. The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license identifiers to apply. - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was considered to have no license information in it, and the top level COPYING file license applied. For non */uapi/* files that summary was: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------- GPL-2.0 11139 and resulted in the first patch in this series. If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so they are related. Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks in about 15000 files. In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the correct identifier. Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch version early this week with: - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected license ids and scores - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+ files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the different types of files to be modified. These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to generate the patches. Network devices can allocate reasources and private memory using netdev_ops->ndo_init(). However, the release of these resources can occur in one of two different places. Either netdev_ops->ndo_uninit() or netdev->destructor(). The decision of which operation frees the resources depends upon whether it is necessary for all netdev refs to be released before it is safe to perform the freeing. netdev_ops->ndo_uninit() presumably can occur right after the NETDEV_UNREGISTER notifier completes and the unicast and multicast address lists are flushed. netdev->destructor(), on the other hand, does not run until the netdev references all go away. Further complicating the situation is that netdev->destructor() almost universally does also a free_netdev(). This creates a problem for the logic in register_netdevice(). Because all callers of register_netdevice() manage the freeing of the netdev, and invoke free_netdev(dev) if register_netdevice() fails. If netdev_ops->ndo_init() succeeds, but something else fails inside of register_netdevice(), it does call ndo_ops->ndo_uninit(). But it is not able to invoke netdev->destructor(). This is because netdev->destructor() will do a free_netdev() and then the caller of register_netdevice() will do the same. However, this means that the resources that would normally be released by netdev->destructor() will not be. Over the years drivers have added local hacks to deal with this, by invoking their destructor parts by hand when register_netdevice() fails. Many drivers do not try to deal with this, and instead we have leaks. Let's close this hole by formalizing the distinction between what private things need to be freed up by netdev->destructor() and whether the driver needs unregister_netdevice() to perform the free_netdev(). netdev->priv_destructor() performs all actions to free up the private resources that used to be freed by netdev->destructor(), except for free_netdev(). netdev->needs_free_netdev is a boolean that indicates whether free_netdev() should be done at the end of unregister_netdevice(). Now, register_netdevice() can sanely release all resources after ndo_ops->ndo_init() succeeds, by invoking both ndo_ops->ndo_uninit() and netdev->priv_destructor(). 2017-04-28cfg80211: unify cfg80211_roamed() and cfg80211_roamed_bss()Avraham Stern1-2/+8
cfg80211_roamed() and cfg80211_roamed_bss() take the same arguments except that cfg80211_roamed() requires the BSSID and cfg80211_roamed_bss() requires the bss entry. Unify the two functions by using a struct for driver initiated roaming information so that either the BSSID or the bss entry can be passed as an argument to the unified function. 2017-04-27nl80211: allow multiple active scheduled scan requestsArend Van Spriel1-1/+1
This patch implements the idea to have multiple scheduled scan requests running concurrently. It mainly illustrates how to deal with the incoming request from user-space in terms of backward compatibility. In order to use multiple scheduled scans user-space needs to provide a flag attribute NL80211_ATTR_SCHED_SCAN_MULTI to indicate support. If not the request is treated as a legacy scan. Drivers currently supporting scheduled scan are now indicating they support a single scheduled scan request. This obsoletes WIPHY_FLAG_SUPPORTS_SCHED_SCAN.
