commit 1bd3a383075c64d638e65d263c9267b08ee7733c upstream.
The Lenovo OneLink+ Dock contains an RTL8153 controller that behaves as
a broken CDC device by default. Add the custom Lenovo PID to the r8152
driver to support it properly.
Also, systems compatible with this dock provide a BIOS option to enable
MAC address passthrough (as per Lenovo document "ThinkPad Docking
Solutions 2017"). Add the custom PID to the MAC passthrough list too.
Tested on a ThinkPad 13 1st gen with the expected results:
passthrough disabled: Invalid header when reading pass-thru MAC addr
passthrough enabled: Using pass-thru MAC addr XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX

causing a memory leak as reported by syzbot.

[ Upstream commit 7b960c967f2aa01ab8f45c5a0bd78e754cffdeee ]
Commit 05b35e7eb9a1 ("smsc95xx: add phylib support") amended
smsc95xx_resume() to call phy_init_hw(). That function waits for the
device to runtime resume even though it is placed in the runtime resume
path, causing a deadlock.
The problem is that phy_init_hw() calls down to smsc95xx_mdiobus_read(),
which never uses the _nopm variant of usbnet_read_cmd().
Commit b4df480f68ae ("usbnet: smsc95xx: add reset_resume function with
reset operation") causes a similar deadlock on resume if the device was
already runtime suspended when entering system sleep:
That's because the commit introduced smsc95xx_reset_resume(), which
calls down to smsc95xx_reset(), which neglects to use _nopm accessors.
Fix by auto-detecting whether a device access is performed by the
suspend/resume task_struct and use the _nopm variant if so. This works
because the PM core guarantees that suspend/resume callbacks are run in
task context.

[ Upstream commit 1ce8b37241ed291af56f7a49bbdbf20c08728e88 ]
Link status of SMSC LAN95xx chips is polled once per second, even though
they're capable of signaling PHY interrupts through the MAC layer.
Forward those interrupts to the PHY driver to avoid polling. Benefits
are reduced bus traffic, reduced CPU overhead and quicker interface
bringup.
Polling was introduced in 2016 by commit d69d16949346 ("usbnet:
smsc95xx: fix link detection for disabled autonegotiation").
Back then, the LAN95xx driver neglected to enable the ENERGYON interrupt,
hence couldn't detect link-up events when auto-negotiation was disabled.
The proper solution would have been to enable the ENERGYON interrupt
instead of polling.
Since then, PHY handling was moved from the LAN95xx driver to the SMSC
PHY driver with commit 05b35e7eb9a1 ("smsc95xx: add phylib support").
That PHY driver is capable of link detection with auto-negotiation
disabled because it enables the ENERGYON interrupt.
Note that signaling interrupts through the MAC layer not only works with
the integrated PHY, but also with an external PHY, provided its
interrupt pin is attached to LAN95xx's nPHY_INT pin.
In the unlikely event that the interrupt pin of an external PHY is
attached to a GPIO of the SoC (or not connected at all), the driver can
be amended to retrieve the irq from the PHY's of_node.
To forward PHY interrupts to phylib, it is not sufficient to call
phy_mac_interrupt(). Instead, the PHY's interrupt handler needs to run
so that PHY interrupts are cleared. That's because according to page
119 of the LAN950x datasheet, "The source of this interrupt is a level.
The interrupt persists until it is cleared in the PHY."
https://www.microchip.com/content/dam/mchp/documents/UNG/ProductDocuments/DataSheets/LAN950x-Data-Sheet-DS00001875D.pdf
Therefore, create an IRQ domain with a single IRQ for the PHY. In the
future, the IRQ domain may be extended to support the 11 GPIOs on the
LAN95xx.
Normally the PHY interrupt should be masked until the PHY driver has
cleared it. However masking requires a (sleeping) USB transaction and
interrupts are received in (non-sleepable) softirq context. I decided
not to mask the interrupt at all (by using the dummy_irq_chip's noop
->irq_mask() callback): The USB interrupt endpoint is polled in 1 msec
intervals and normally that's sufficient to wake the PHY driver's IRQ
thread and have it clear the interrupt. If it does take longer, worst
thing that can happen is the IRQ thread is woken again. No big deal.
Because PHY interrupts are now perpetually enabled, there's no need to
selectively enable them on suspend. So remove all invocations of
smsc95xx_enable_phy_wakeup_interrupts().
In smsc95xx_resume(), move the call of phy_init_hw() before
usbnet_resume() (which restarts the status URB) to ensure that the PHY
is fully initialized when an interrupt is handled.

[ Upstream commit 8960f878e39fadc03d74292a6731f1e914cf2019 ]
When a PHY interrupt is signaled, the SMSC LAN95xx driver updates the
MAC full duplex mode and PHY flow control registers based on cached data
in struct phy_device:
smsc95xx_status() # raises EVENT_LINK_RESET
usbnet_deferred_kevent()
smsc95xx_link_reset() # uses cached data in phydev
Simultaneously, phylib polls link status once per second and updates
that cached data:
phy_state_machine()
phy_check_link_status()
phy_read_status()
lan87xx_read_status()
genphy_read_status() # updates cached data in phydev
If smsc95xx_link_reset() wins the race against genphy_read_status(),
the registers may be updated based on stale data.
E.g. if the link was previously down, phydev->duplex is set to
DUPLEX_UNKNOWN and that's what smsc95xx_link_reset() will use, even
though genphy_read_status() may update it to DUPLEX_FULL afterwards.
PHY interrupts are currently only enabled on suspend to trigger wakeup,
so the impact of the race is limited, but we're about to enable them
perpetually.
Avoid the race by delaying execution of smsc95xx_link_reset() until
phy_state_machine() has done its job and calls back via
smsc95xx_handle_link_change().
Signaling EVENT_LINK_RESET on wakeup is not necessary because phylib
picks up link status changes through polling. So drop the declaration
of a ->link_reset() callback.
Note that the semicolon on a line by itself added in smsc95xx_status()
is a placeholder for a function call which will be added in a subsequent
commit. That function call will actually handle the INT_ENP_PHY_INT_
interrupt.

[ Upstream commit 3108871f19221372b251f7da1ac38736928b5b3a ]
Upon receiving data from the Interrupt Endpoint, the SMSC LAN95xx driver
attempts to clear the signaled interrupts by writing "all ones" to the
Interrupt Status Register.
However the driver only ever enables a single type of interrupt, namely
the PHY Interrupt. And according to page 119 of the LAN950x datasheet,
its bit in the Interrupt Status Register is read-only. There's no other
way to clear it than in a separate PHY register:
https://www.microchip.com/content/dam/mchp/documents/UNG/ProductDocuments/DataSheets/LAN950x-Data-Sheet-DS00001875D.pdf
Consequently, writing "all ones" to the Interrupt Status Register is
pointless and can be dropped.

commit a69e617e533edddf3fa3123149900f36e0a6dc74 upstream.
usbnet uses the work usbnet_deferred_kevent() to perform tasks which may
sleep. On disconnect, completion of the work was originally awaited in
->ndo_stop(). But in 2003, that was moved to ->disconnect() by historic
commit "[PATCH] USB: usbnet, prevent exotic rtnl deadlock":
https://git.kernel.org/tglx/history/c/0f138bbfd83c
The change was made because back then, the kernel's workqueue
implementation did not allow waiting for a single work. One had to wait
for completion of *all* work by calling flush_scheduled_work(), and that
could deadlock when waiting for usbnet_deferred_kevent() with rtnl_mutex
held in ->ndo_stop().
The commit solved one problem but created another: It causes a
use-after-free in USB Ethernet drivers aqc111.c, asix_devices.c,
ax88179_178a.c, ch9200.c and smsc75xx.c:
* If the drivers receive a link change interrupt immediately before
disconnect, they raise EVENT_LINK_RESET in their (non-sleepable)
->status() callback and schedule usbnet_deferred_kevent().
* usbnet_deferred_kevent() invokes the driver's ->link_reset() callback,
which calls netif_carrier_{on,off}().
* That in turn schedules the work linkwatch_event().
Because usbnet_deferred_kevent() is awaited after unregister_netdev(),
netif_carrier_{on,off}() may operate on an unregistered netdev and
linkwatch_event() may run after free_netdev(), causing a use-after-free.
In 2010, usbnet was changed to only wait for a single instance of
usbnet_deferred_kevent() instead of *all* work by commit 23f333a2bfaf
("drivers/net: don't use flush_scheduled_work()").
Unfortunately the commit neglected to move the wait back to
->ndo_stop(). Rectify that omission at long last.

commit 36a15e1cb134c0395261ba1940762703f778438c upstream.
The extra byte inserted by usbnet.c when
(length % dev->maxpacket == 0) is causing problems to device.
This patch sets FLAG_SEND_ZLP to avoid this.
Tested with: 0b95:1790 ASIX Electronics Corp. AX88179 Gigabit Ethernet
Problems observed:
======================================================================
1) Using ssh/sshfs. The remote sshd daemon can abort with the message:
"message authentication code incorrect"
This happens because the tcp message sent is corrupted during the
USB "Bulk out". The device calculate the tcp checksum and send a
valid tcp message to the remote sshd. Then the encryption detects
the error and aborts.
2) NETDEV WATCHDOG: ... (ax88179_178a): transmit queue 0 timed out
3) Stop normal work without any log message.
The "Bulk in" continue receiving packets normally.
The host sends "Bulk out" and the device responds with -ECONNRESET.
(The netusb.c code tx_complete ignore -ECONNRESET)
Under normal conditions these errors take days to happen and in
intense usage take hours.
A test with ping gives packet loss, showing that something is wrong:
ping -4 -s 462 {destination} # 462 = 512 - 42 - 8
Not all packets fail.
My guess is that the device tries to find another packet starting
at the extra byte and will fail or not depending on the next
bytes (old buffer content).

commit cdf0b86b250fd3c1c3e120c86583ea510c52e4ce upstream.
This fixes that the platform is waked by an unexpected packet. The
size and range of FIFO is different when the device enters S3 state,
so it is necessary to correct some settings when suspending.
Regardless of jumbo frame, set RMS to 1522 and MTPS to MTPS_DEFAULT.
Besides, enable MCU_BORW_EN to update the method of calculating the
pointer of data. Then, the hardware could get the correct data.

commit 805206e66fab4ba1e0ebd19402006d62cd1d4902 upstream.
If cable is attached after probe sequence, the usbnet framework would
not automatically start processing RX packets except at least one
packet was transmitted.
On systems with any kind of address auto configuration this issue was
not detected, because some packets are send immediately after link state
is changed to "running".

commit e65af5403e462ccd7dff6a045a886c64da598c2e upstream.
usbnet provides some helper functions that are also used in
the context of reset() operations. During a reset the other
drivers on a device are unable to operate. As that can be block
drivers, a driver for another interface cannot use paging
in its memory allocations without risking a deadlock.

commit f8ebb3ac881b17712e1d5967c97ab1806b16d3d6 upstream.
This patch corrects packet receiving in ax88179_rx_fixup.
- problem observed:
ifconfig shows allways a lot of 'RX Errors' while packets
are received normally.
This occurs because ax88179_rx_fixup does not recognise properly

with 'return 0', generating RX Errors.
(pkt_cnt==-2 and ptk_hdr over field rx_hdr trying to identify
another packet there)
This is a usb urb received by "tcpdump -i usbmon2 -X" on a

The dump shows that pkt_cnt is the number of entrys in the
per-packet metadata. It is "2 * packet count".
Each packet have two entrys. The first have a valid
value (pkt_len and AX_RXHDR_*) and the second have a
dummy-header 0x80000000 (pkt_len=0 with AX_RXHDR_DROP_ERR).
Why exists dummy-header for each packet?!?
My guess is that this was done probably to align the
entry for each packet to 64-bits and maintain compatibility
with old firmware.
There is also a padding (0x00000000) before the rx_hdr to
align the end of rx_hdr to 64-bit.
Note that packets have a alignment of 64-bits (8-bytes).
This patch assumes that the dummy-header and the last
padding are optional. So it preserves semantics and
recognises the same valid packets as the current code.
This patch was made using only the dumpfile information and
tested with only one device:

[ Upstream commit d1408f6b4dd78fb1b9e26bcf64477984e5f85409 ]
Commit 2c9d6c2b871d ("usbnet: run unbind() before unregister_netdev()")
sought to fix a use-after-free on disconnect of USB Ethernet adapters.
It turns out that a different fix is necessary to address the issue:
https://lore.kernel.org/netdev/18b3541e5372bc9b9fc733d422f4e698c089077c.1650177997.git.lukas@wunner.de/
So the commit was not necessary.
The commit made binding and unbinding of USB Ethernet asymmetrical:
Before, usbnet_probe() first invoked the ->bind() callback and then
register_netdev(). usbnet_disconnect() mirrored that by first invoking
unregister_netdev() and then ->unbind().
Since the commit, the order in usbnet_disconnect() is reversed and no
longer mirrors usbnet_probe().
One consequence is that a PHY disconnected (and stopped) in ->unbind()
is afterwards stopped once more by unregister_netdev() as it closes the
netdev before unregistering. That necessitates a contortion in ->stop()
because the PHY may only be stopped if it hasn't already been
disconnected.
Reverting the commit allows making the call to phy_stop() unconditional
in ->stop().

aqc111_rx_fixup() contains several out-of-bounds accesses that can be
triggered by a malicious (or defective) USB device, in particular:
- The metadata array (desc_offset..desc_offset+2*pkt_count) can be out of bounds,
causing OOB reads and (on big-endian systems) OOB endianness flips.
- A packet can overlap the metadata array, causing a later OOB
endianness flip to corrupt data used by a cloned SKB that has already
been handed off into the network stack.
- A packet SKB can be constructed whose tail is far beyond its end,
causing out-of-bounds heap data to be considered part of the SKB's

Found doing variant analysis. Tested it with another driver (ax88179_178a), since

Syzbot once again hit uninit value in asix driver. The problem still the
same -- asix_read_cmd() reads less bytes, than was requested by caller.
Since all read requests are performed via asix_read_cmd() let's catch
usb related error there and add __must_check notation to be sure all
callers actually check return value.
So, this patch adds sanity check inside asix_read_cmd(), that simply
checks if bytes read are not less, than was requested and adds missing
error handling of asix_read_cmd() all across the driver code.

commit 57bc3d3ae8c14df3ceb4e17d26ddf9eeab304581 upstream.
ax88179_rx_fixup() contains several out-of-bounds accesses that can be
triggered by a malicious (or defective) USB device, in particular:
- The metadata array (hdr_off..hdr_off+2*pkt_cnt) can be out of bounds,
causing OOB reads and (on big-endian systems) OOB endianness flips.
- A packet can overlap the metadata array, causing a later OOB
endianness flip to corrupt data used by a cloned SKB that has already
been handed off into the network stack.
- A packet SKB can be constructed whose tail is far beyond its end,
causing out-of-bounds heap data to be considered part of the SKB's
data.
I have tested that this can be used by a malicious USB device to send a
bogus ICMPv6 Echo Request and receive an ICMPv6 Echo Reply in response
that contains random kernel heap data.
It's probably also possible to get OOB writes from this on a

commit 63e4b45c82ed1bde979da7052229a4229ce9cabf upstream.
When rx_buf is allocated we need to account for IPHETH_IP_ALIGN,
which reduces the usable size by 2 bytes. Otherwise we have 1512
bytes usable instead of 1514, and if we receive more than 1512
bytes, ipheth_rcvbulk_callback is called with status -EOVERFLOW,
after which the driver malfunctiones and all communication stops.

[ Upstream commit d668769eb9c52b150753f1653f7f5a0aeb8239d2 ]
Syzbot reported uninit value in mcs7830_bind(). The problem was in
missing validation check for bytes read via usbnet_read_cmd().
usbnet_read_cmd() internally calls usb_control_msg(), that returns
number of bytes read. Code should validate that requested number of bytes
was actually read.
So, this patch adds missing size validation check inside
mcs7830_get_reg() to prevent uninit value bugs

commit 29262e1f773b4b6a43711120be564c57fca07cfb upstream.
Hytera makes a range of digital (DMR) radios. These radios can be
programmed to a allow a computer to control them over Ethernet over USB,
either using NCM or RNDIS.
This commit adds support for RNDIS for Hytera radios. I tested with a
Hytera PD785 and a Hytera MD785G. When these radios are programmed to
set up a Radio to PC Network using RNDIS, an USB interface will be added
with class 2 (Communications), subclass 2 (Abstract Modem Control) and
an interface protocol of 255 ("vendor specific" - lsusb even hints "MSFT
RNDIS?").
This patch is similar to the solution of this StackOverflow user, but
that only works for the Hytera MD785:
https://stackoverflow.com/a/53550858
To use the "Radio to PC Network" functionality of Hytera DMR radios, the
radios need to be programmed correctly in CPS (Hytera's Customer
Programming Software). "Forward to PC" should be checked in "Network"
(under "General Setting" in "Conventional") and the "USB Network
Communication Protocol" should be set to RNDIS.

[ Upstream commit ca506fca461b260ab32952b610c3d4aadc6c11fd ]
The D-Link DSB-650TX (2001:4002) is unable to receive Ethernet frames
that are longer than 1518 octets, for example, Ethernet frames that
contain 802.1Q VLAN tags.
The frames are sent to the pegasus driver via USB but the driver
discards them because they have the Long_pkt field set to 1 in the
received status report. The function read_bulk_callback of the pegasus
driver treats such received "packets" (in the terminology of the
hardware) as errors but the field simply does just indicate that the
Ethernet frame (MAC destination to FCS) is longer than 1518 octets.
It seems that in the 1990s there was a distinction between
"giant" (> 1518) and "runt" (< 64) frames and the hardware includes
flags to indicate this distinction. It seems that the purpose of the
distinction "giant" frames was to not allow infinitely long frames due
to transmission errors and to allow hardware to have an upper limit of
the frame size. However, the hardware already has such limit with its
2048 octet receive buffer and, therefore, Long_pkt is merely a
convention and should not be treated as a receive error.
Actually, the hardware is even able to receive Ethernet frames with 2048
octets which exceeds the claimed limit frame size limit of the driver of
1536 octets (PEGASUS_MTU).

There are some chances that the actual base of hardware is different
from the value recorded by driver, so we have to reset the variable
of ocp_base to sync it.
Set ocp_base to -1. Then, it would be updated and the new base would be
set to the hardware next time.

commit 2be6d4d16a0849455a5c22490e3c5983495fed00 upstream.
Currently, due to the sequential use of min_t() and clamp_t() macros,
in cdc_ncm_check_tx_max(), if dwNtbOutMaxSize is not set, the logic
sets tx_max to 0. This is then used to allocate the data area of the
SKB requested later in cdc_ncm_fill_tx_frame().
This does not cause an issue presently because when memory is
allocated during initialisation phase of SKB creation, more memory
(512b) is allocated than is required for the SKB headers alone (320b),
leaving some space (512b - 320b = 192b) for CDC data (172b).
However, if more elements (for example 3 x u64 = [24b]) were added to
one of the SKB header structs, say 'struct skb_shared_info',
increasing its original size (320b [320b aligned]) to something larger
(344b [384b aligned]), then suddenly the CDC data (172b) no longer
fits in the spare SKB data area (512b - 384b = 128b).
Consequently the SKB bounds checking semantics fails and panics:
