2018-08-24net: qca_spi: Fix log level if probe failsStefan Wahren1-8/+8
[ Upstream commit 50973993260a6934f0a00da53d9b746cfbea89ab ] In cases the probing fails the log level of the messages should be an error. 2018-08-24net: qca_spi: Make sure the QCA7000 reset is triggeredStefan Wahren1-0/+3
[ Upstream commit 711c62dfa6bdb4326ca6c587f295ea5c4f7269de ] In case the SPI thread is not running, a simple reset of sync state won't fix the transmit timeout. We also need to wake up the kernel thread. Signed-off-by: Stefan Wahren <stefan.wahren@i2se.com> Fixes: ed7d42e24eff ("net: qca_spi: fix transmit queue timeout handling") Signed-off-by: David S. 2018-08-24net: qca_spi: Avoid packet drop during initial syncStefan Wahren1-1/+1
[ Upstream commit b2bab426dc715de147f8039a3fccff27d795f4eb ] As long as the synchronization with the QCA7000 isn't finished, we cannot accept packets from the upper layers. So let the SPI thread enable the TX queue after sync and avoid unwanted packet drop. 2018-04-13net: qca_spi: Fix alignment issues in rx pathStefan Wahren1-4/+6
[ Upstream commit 8d66c30b12ed3cb533696dea8b9a9eadd5da426a ] The qca_spi driver causes alignment issues on ARM devices. So fix this by using netdev_alloc_skb_ip_align(). 2016-05-04treewide: replace dev->trans_start update with helperFlorian Westphal1-1/+1
Replace all trans_start updates with netif_trans_update helper. change was done via spatch: struct net_device *d; @@ - d->trans_start = jiffies + netif_trans_update(d) Compile tested only. 2016-05-04drivers: replace dev->trans_start accesses with dev_trans_startFlorian Westphal1-1/+1
a trans_start struct member exists twice: - in struct net_device (legacy) - in struct netdev_queue Instead of open-coding dev->trans_start usage to obtain the current trans_start value, use dev_trans_start() instead. This is not exactly the same, as dev_trans_start also considers the trans_start values of the netdev queues owned by the device and provides the most recent one. For legacy devices this doesn't matter as dev_trans_start can cope with netdev trans_start values of 0 (they are ignored). This is a prerequisite to eventual removal of dev->trans_start. 2016-02-26net: qca_spi: clear IFF_TX_SKB_SHARINGStefan Wahren1-0/+1
ether_setup sets IFF_TX_SKB_SHARING but this is not supported by qca_spi as it modifies the skb on xmit. Signed-off-by: Stefan Wahren <stefan.wahren@i2se.com> Fixes: 291ab06ecf67 (net: qualcomm: new Ethernet over SPI driver for QCA7000) Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2016-02-26net: qca_spi: Don't clear IFF_BROADCASTStefan Wahren1-1/+0
Currently qcaspi_netdev_setup accidentally clears IFF_BROADCAST. So fix this by keeping the flags from ether_setup. 2015-12-06net: qca_spi: fix transmit queue timeout handlingStefan Wahren1-3/+2
In case of a tx queue timeout every transmit is blocked until the QCA7000 resets himself and triggers a sync which makes the driver flushs the tx ring. So avoid this blocking situation by triggering the sync immediately after the timeout. Waking the queue doesn't make sense in this situation. 2015-10-28spi: Drop owner assignment from spi_driversAndrew F. Davis1-1/+0
An spi_driver does not need to set an owner, it will be populated by the driver core. Signed-off-by: Andrew F. Davis <afd@ti.com> Acked-by: Jonathan Cameron <jic23@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>
2015-05-13Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/netDavid S. Miller1-2/+2
Four minor merge conflicts: 1) qca_spi.c renamed the local variable used for the SPI device from spi_device to spi, meanwhile the spi_set_drvdata() call got moved further up in the probe function. 2) Two changes were both adding new members to codel params structure, and thus we had overlapping changes to the initializer function. 3) 'net' was making a fix to sk_release_kernel() which is completely removed in 'net-next'. 4) In net_namespace.c, the rtnl_net_fill() call for GET operations had the command value fixed, meanwhile 'net-next' adjusted the argument signature a bit. This also matches example merge resolutions posted by Stephen Rothwell over the past two days. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2015-05-11net: qca_spi: Fix possible race during probeStefan Wahren1-2/+2
Registering the netdev before setting the priv data is unsafe. So fix this possible race by setting the priv data first.
