2024-05-02bnxt_en: Add a mutex to synchronize ULP operationsKalesh AP1-0/+3
The current scheme relies heavily on the RTNL lock for all ULP operations between the L2 and the RoCE driver. Add a new en_dev_lock mutex so that the asynchronous ULP_STOP and ULP_START operations can be serialized with bnxt_register_dev() and bnxt_unregister_dev() calls without relying on the RTNL lock. The next patch will remove the RTNL lock from the ULP_STOP and ULP_START calls. 2024-04-11bnxt_en: Change MSIX/NQs allocation policyVikas Gupta1-1/+7
The existing scheme sets aside a number of MSIX/NQs for the RoCE driver whether the RoCE driver is registered or not. This scheme is not flexible and limits the resources available for the L2 rings if RoCE is never used. Modify the scheme so that the RoCE MSIX/NQs can be used by the L2 driver if they are not used for RoCE. The MSIX/NQs are now represented by 3 fields. bp->ulp_num_msix_want contains the desired default value, edev->ulp_num_msix_vec contains the available value (but not necessarily in use), and ulp_tbl->msix_requested contains the actual value in use by RoCE. The L2 driver can dip into edev->ulp_num_msix_vec if necessary. We need to add rtnl_lock() back in bnxt_register_dev() and bnxt_unregister_dev() to synchronize the MSIX usage between L2 and RoCE. 2024-04-11bnxt_en: Refactor bnxt_rdma_aux_device_init/uninit functionsVikas Gupta1-0/+2
In its current form, bnxt_rdma_aux_device_init() not only initializes the necessary data structures of the newly created aux device but also adds the aux device into the aux bus subsytem. Refactor the logic into separate functions, first function to initialize the aux device along with the required resources and second, to actually add the device to the aux bus subsytem. This separation helps to create bnxt_en_dev much earlier and save its resources separately. Modified the bnxt_en code to create and pre-configure RDMA devices with the right MSI-X vector count for the ROCE driver to use. This is to align the ROCE driver to the auxiliary device model which will simply bind the driver without getting into PCI-related handling. All PCI-related logic will now be in the bnxt_en driver. 2020-05-04bnxt_en: Add doorbell information to bnxt_en_dev struct.Michael Chan1-0/+8

2019-11-01bnxt_en: Improve bnxt_ulp_stop()/bnxt_ulp_start() call sequence.Vasundhara Volam1-1/+2
We call bnxt_ulp_stop() to notify the RDMA driver that some error or imminent reset is about to happen. After that we always call some variants of bnxt_close(). In the next patch, we will integrate the recently added error recovery with the RDMA driver. In response to ulp_stop, the RDMA driver may free MSIX vectors and that will also trigger bnxt_close(). To avoid bnxt_close() from being called twice, we set a new flag after ulp_stop is called. If the RDMA driver frees MSIX vectors while the new flag is set, we will not call bnxt_close(), knowing that it will happen in due course. With this change, we must make sure that the bnxt_close() call after ulp_stop will reset IRQ. Modify bnxt_reset_task() accordingly if we call ulp_stop. 2018-04-01bnxt_en: Change IRQ assignment for RDMA driver.Michael Chan1-0/+3
In the current code, the range of MSIX vectors allocated for the RDMA driver is disjoint from the network driver. This creates a problem for the new firmware ring reservation scheme. The new scheme requires the reserved completion rings/MSIX vectors to be in a contiguous range. Change the logic to allocate RDMA MSIX vectors to be contiguous with the vectors used by bnxt_en on new firmware using the new scheme. 2016-12-07bnxt_en: Add interface to support RDMA driver.Michael Chan1-0/+93
Since the network driver and RDMA driver operate on the same PCI function, we need to create an interface to allow the RDMA driver to share resources with the network driver. 1. Create a new bnxt_en_dev struct which will be returned by bnxt_ulp_probe() upon success. After that, all calls from the RDMA driver to bnxt_en will pass a pointer to this struct. 2. This struct contains additional function pointers to register, request msix, send fw messages, register for async events. 3. If the RDMA driver wants to enable RDMA on the function, it needs to call the function pointer bnxt_register_device(). A ulp_ops structure is passed for RCU protected upcalls from bnxt_en to the RDMA driver. 4. The RDMA driver can call firmware APIs using the bnxt_send_fw_msg() function pointer. 5. 1 stats context is reserved when the RDMA driver registers. MSIX and completion rings are reserved when the RDMA driver calls bnxt_request_msix() function pointer. 6. When the RDMA driver calls bnxt_unregister_device(), all RDMA resources will be cleaned up. v2: Fixed 2 uninitialized variable warnings.
