(I think 68 was the intended min_mtu value). 2015-12-05atl1c: Improve driver not to do order 4 GFP_ATOMIC allocationPavel Machek1-4/+3
atl1c driver is doing order-4 allocation with GFP_ATOMIC priority. That often breaks networking after resume. Switch to GFP_KERNEL. Still not ideal, but should be significantly better. atl1c_setup_ring_resources() is called from .open() function, and already uses GFP_KERNEL, so this change is safe. This BQL implementation is mostly derived from its related driver, alx. Tested on AR8131 (rev c0) [1969:1063]. Saturated a 100mbps link with 5 concurrent runs of netperf. 2014-03-25atl1c: Call dev_kfree/consume_skb_any instead of dev_kfree_skb.Eric W. Biederman1-12/+8
The call path: atl1c_xmit_frame, atlc_tx_rollback, atl1c_clean_buffer can not be tell at compile time if it will be invoked from hard irq or other context, as atl1c_xmit_frame does not know. So remove the logic that passes the compile time knowledge into al1c_clean_buffer and figure out it out at runtime with dev_consume_skb_any. Replace dev_kfree_skb with dev_kfree_skb_any in atl1c_xmit_frame that can be called in hard irq and other contexts. None of these files are actually using any __init type directives and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to code getting copied from one driver to the next. There are a mix of function prototypes with and without extern in the kernel sources. Standardize on not using extern for function prototypes. Function prototypes don't need to be written with extern. extern is assumed by the compiler. Its use is as unnecessary as using auto to declare automatic/local variables in a block. Use a custom allocator, using page allocator and 2K fragments for optimal stack behavior. We might make this allocator generic in future kernels. 2013-07-27atl1c: Fix misuse of netdev_alloc_skb in refilling rx ringNeil Horman1-1/+1
atl1c uses netdev_alloc_skb to refill its rx dma ring, but that call makes no guarantees about the suitability of the memory for use in DMA. As a result we've gotten reports of atl1c drivers occasionally hanging and needing to be reset: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54021 Fix this by modifying the call to use the internal version __netdev_alloc_skb, where you can set the gfp_mask explicitly to include GFP_DMA. Tested by two reporters in the above bug, who have the hardware to validate it. 2013-04-19net: vlan: add protocol argument to packet tagging functionsPatrick McHardy1-1/+1
Add a protocol argument to the VLAN packet tagging functions. In case of HW tagging, we need that protocol available in the ndo_start_xmit functions, so it is stored in a new field in the skb. 2012-12-07drivers/net: fix up function prototypes after __dev* removalsGreg Kroah-Hartman1-2/+1
The __dev* removal patches for the network drivers ended up messing up the function prototypes for a bunch of drivers. This patch fixes all of them back up to be properly aligned. 2012-07-20atl1c: fix issue of io access mode for AR8152 v2.1Cloud Ren2-1/+20
When io access mode is enabled by BOOTROM or BIOS for AR8152 v2.1, the register can't be read/write by memory access mode. Clearing Bit 8 of Register 0x21c could fixed the issue. Adding casts of objects to the same type is unnecessary and confusing for a human reader. For example, this cast: int y; int *p = (int *)&y; I used the coccinelle script below to find and remove these unnecessary casts. I manually removed the conversions this script produces of casts with __force, __iomem and __user. @@ type T; T *p; @@ - (T *)p + p A function in atl1e_main.c was passed a const pointer when it actually modified elements of the structure.
