2013-05-193c59x: fix PCI resource managementSergei Shtylyov1-12/+13
[ Upstream commit 4b264a1676e70dc656ba53a8cac690f2d4b65f4e ] The driver wrongly claimed I/O ports at an address returned by pci_iomap() -- even if it was passed an MMIO address. Fix this by claiming/releasing all PCI resources in the PCI driver's probe()/remove() methods instead and get rid of 'must_free_region' flag weirdness (why would Cardbus claim anything for us?). 2013-05-193c59x: fix freeing nonexistent resource on driver unloadSergei Shtylyov1-1/+1
[ Upstream commit c81400be716aa4c76f6ebf339ba94358dbbf6da6 ] When unloading the driver that drives an EISA board, a message similar to the following one is displayed: Trying to free nonexistent resource <0000000000013000-000000000001301f> Then an user is unable to reload the driver because the resource it requested in the previous load hasn't been freed. This happens most probably due to a typo in vortex_eisa_remove() which calls release_region() with 'dev->base_addr' instead of 'edev->base_addr'... 2013-05-193c509.c: call SET_NETDEV_DEV for all device types (ISA/ISAPnP/EISA)Matthew Whitehead1-0/+2
[ Upstream commit 3b54912f9cd167641b91d4a697bd742f70e534fe ] The venerable 3c509 driver only sets its device parent in one case, the ISAPnP one. It does this with the SET_NETDEV_DEV function. It should register with the device hierarchy in two additional cases: standard (non-PnP) ISA and EISA. - Currently they appear here: /sys/devices/virtual/net/eth0 (standard ISA) /sys/devices/virtual/net/eth1 (EISA) - Rather, they should instead be here: /sys/devices/isa/3c509.0/net/eth0 (standard ISA) /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:07.0/00:04/net/eth1 (EISA) Tested on ISA and EISA boards. 2012-03-28Remove all #inclusions of asm/system.hDavid Howells2-2/+0
Remove all #inclusions of asm/system.h preparatory to splitting and killing it. Performed with the following command: perl -p -i -e 's!^#\s*include\s*<asm/system[.]h>.*\n!!' `grep -Irl '^#\s*include\s*<asm/system[.]h>' *` Signed-off-by: David Howells <dhowells@redhat.com>
2012-02-223com/typhoon: reuse eth_mac_addr()Danny Kukawka1-13/+1
Use eth_mac_addr() for .ndo_set_mac_address, remove typhoon_set_mac_address() since it do currently the same as eth_mac_addr(). Additional advantage: eth_mac_addr() already checks if the given address is valid. Conflicts: drivers/net/ethernet/broadcom/bnx2x/bnx2x_stats.c Small minor conflict in bnx2x, wherein one commit changed how statistics were stored in software, and another commit fixed endianness bugs wrt. reading the values provided by the chip in memory. 2012-02-153c59x: shorten timer period for slave devicesEric Dumazet1-1/+1
Jean Delvare reported bonding on top of 3c59x adapters was not detecting network cable removal fast enough. 3c59x indeed uses a 60 seconds timer to check link status if carrier is on, and 5 seconds if carrier is off. This patch reduces timer period to 5 seconds if device is a bonding slave. 2012-01-30drivers/net: fix up stale paths from driver reorgPaul Gortmaker1-1/+1
The reorganization of the driver layout in drivers/net left behind some stale paths in comments and in Kconfig help text. Bring them up to date. No actual change to any code takes place here. 2011-11-09sweep the floors and convert some .get_drvinfo routines to strlcpyRick Jones3-15/+20
Per the mention made by Ben Hutchings that strlcpy is now the preferred string copy routine for a .get_drvinfo routine, do a bit of floor sweeping and convert some of the as-yet unconverted ethernet drivers to it. 2011-10-19net: add skb frag size accessorsEric Dumazet2-6/+6
To ease skb->truesize sanitization, its better to be able to localize all references to skb frags size. Define accessors : skb_frag_size() to fetch frag size, and skb_frag_size_{set|add|sub}() to manipulate it. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2011-09-15MII: fix Kconfig dependencies for MIIJeff Kirsher1-0/+1
MII Kconfig option is apart of the core networking drivers and by default NET_CORE is enabled so drivers selecting MII will have MII enabled as well. It was found using the randconfig option during testing, MII would be selected but NET_CORE could be disabled. This caused a dependency error. Resolved the dependency by selecting NET_CORE when MII is selected. 2011-08-27drivers/net/ethernet/*: Enabled vendor Kconfig optionsJeff Kirsher1-0/+1
Based on finds for Stephen Rothwell, where current defconfig's enable a ethernet driver and it is not compiled due to the newly added NET_VENDOR_* component of Kconfig. This patch enables all the "new" Kconfig options so that current defconfig's will continue to compile the expected drivers. In addition, by enabling all the new Kconfig options does not add any un-expected options. CC: Stephen Rothwll <sfc@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
