2012-03-27mtd: do not use plain 0 as NULLArtem Bityutskiy1-10/+8
The first 3 arguments of 'mtd_device_parse_register()' are pointers, but many callers pass '0' instead of 'NULL'. Fix this globally. Thanks to coccinelle for making it easy to do with the following semantic patch: @@ expression mtd, types, parser_data, parts, nr_parts; @@ ( -mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, 0, parser_data, parts, nr_parts) +mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, NULL, parser_data, parts, nr_parts) | -mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, types, 0, parts, nr_parts) +mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, types, NULL, parts, nr_parts) | -mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, types, parser_data, 0, nr_parts) +mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, types, parser_data, NULL, nr_parts) ) Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <artem.bityutskiy@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <David.Woodhouse@intel.com>
2011-09-11mtd: ppchameleonevb.c: use mtd_device_parse_registerDmitry Eremin-Solenikov1-32/+10
Replace custom invocations of parse_mtd_partitions and mtd_device_register with common mtd_device_parse_register call. This would bring: standard handling of all errors, fallback to default partitions, etc. Signed-off-by: Dmitry Eremin-Solenikov <dbaryshkov@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <Artem.Bityutskiy@nokia.com>
2011-09-11mtd: ppchameleonevb don't specify default parsing optionsDmitry Eremin-Solenikov1-7/+2
Since 'cmdline, NULL' is now a default for parse_mtd_partitions, don't specify this in every driver, instead pass NULL to force parse_mtd_partitions to use default. Signed-off-by: Dmitry Eremin-Solenikov <dbaryshkov@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <Artem.Bityutskiy@nokia.com>
2011-05-25mtd: ppchameleonevb: convert to mtd_device_register()Jamie Iles1-10/+5
Convert to mtd_device_register() and remove the CONFIG_MTD_PARTITIONS preprocessor conditionals as partitioning is always available. 2008-06-04MTD/JFFS2: remove CVS keywordsAdrian Bunk1-2/+0
Once upon a time, the MTD repository was using CVS. This patch therefore removes all usages of the no longer updated CVS keywords from the MTD code. This also includes code that printed them to the user. Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <dwmw2@infradead.org>
2007-06-01parse errors in ifdefsYoann Padioleau1-2/+2
Fix various bits of obviously-busted code which we're not happening to compile, due to ifdefs. 2007-06-01potential parse error in ifdefYoann Padioleau1-1/+1
I have made a tool to parse the kernel that does not pre-process the source. That means that my parser tries to parse all the code, including code in the #else branch or code that is not often compiled because the driver is not very used (or not used at all). So, my parser sometimes reports parse error not originally detected by gcc. Here is my (first) patch. 2006-09-22ioremap balanced with iounmap for drivers/mtd subsystemAmol Lad1-0/+7
ioremap must be balanced by an iounmap and failing to do so can result in a memory leak. Tested (compilation only) with: - allmodconfig - Modifying drivers/mtd/maps/Kconfig and drivers/mtd/nand/Kconfig to make sure that the changed file is compiling without warning Signed-off-by: Amol Lad <amol@verismonetworks.com> Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <dwmw2@infradead.org>
2006-05-24[MTD] Refactor NAND hwcontrol to cmd_ctrlThomas Gleixner1-44/+58
The hwcontrol function enforced a step by step state machine for any kind of hardware chip access. Let the hardware driver know which control bits are set and inform it about a change of the control lines. Let the hardware driver write out the command and address bytes directly. This gives a peformance advantage for address bus controlled chips and simplifies the quirks in the hardware drivers. Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>
2006-05-23[MTD] NAND modularize ECCThomas Gleixner1-2/+2
First step of modularizing ECC support. - Move ECC related functionality into a seperate embedded data structure - Get rid of the hardware dependend constants to simplify new ECC models Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>
2006-05-14[MTD] Fix module refcounting in NAND board drivers.David Woodhouse1-0/+1
The _board_ driver needs to be mtd->owner, and it in turn pins the nand.ko module. Fix them all to actually do that, and fix nand.ko not to overwrite it -- and also to check that the caller sets it, if the caller is a module. Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <dwmw2@infradead.org>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
