2010-12-29[media] cx231xx: Fix inverted bits for RC on PV HybridMauro Carvalho Chehab1-5/+16
At Pixelview SBTVD Hybrid, the bits sent by the IR are inverted. Due to that, the existing keytables produce wrong codes. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2010-12-29[media] rc: Rename remote controller type to rc_type instead of ir_typeMauro Carvalho Chehab1-1/+1
for i in `find drivers/staging -type f -name *.[ch]` `find include/media -type f -name *.[ch]` `find drivers/media -type f -name *.[ch]`; do sed s,IR_TYPE,RC_TYPE,g <$i >a && mv a $i; done for i in `find drivers/staging -type f -name *.[ch]` `find include/media -type f -name *.[ch]` `find drivers/media -type f -name *.[ch]`; do sed s,ir_type,rc_type,g <$i >a && mv a $i; done Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2010-12-29[media] cx231xx: Properly name rc_map nameMauro Carvalho Chehab1-2/+2
rc_map is confusing, as it may be understood as another thing. Properly rename the field to indicate its usage. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2010-12-29[media] cx231xx: Fix i2c support at cx231xx-inputMauro Carvalho Chehab1-38/+17
There was a bug at cx231xx-input, where it were registering the remote controls twice, one via ir-kbd-i2c and another directly. Also, the patch that added rc_register_device() broke compilation for it. This patch fixes cx231xx-input by fixing the depends on, to point to the new symbol, and initializing the scanmask via platform_data. While here, also fix Kconfig symbol change for IR core dependencies. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2010-12-29[media] cx231xx: Add a driver for I2C-based IRMauro Carvalho Chehab1-0/+122
Although cx231xx has a very good IR support, already supported by mceusb driver, some designs decided to add a separate I2C microcontroller chip in order to handle IR. Due to that, add a glue to ir-kbd-i2c is needed, in order to support those devices. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2010-10-21[media] cx231xx: Remove IR support from the driverMauro Carvalho Chehab1-251/+0
Polaris design uses MCE support. Instead of reinventing the wheel, just let mceusb handle the remote controller. Acked-by: Jarod Wilson <jarod@redhat.com> Acked-by: Sri Devi <Srinivasa.Deevi@conexant.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>

2010-05-19V4L/DVB: ir-core: remove ir-functions usage from cx231xxDavid Härdeman1-38/+9
Convert drivers/media/video/cx231xx/cx231xx-input.c to not rely on ir-functions.c. (I do not have the hardware so I can only compile test this) Signed-off-by: David Härdeman <david@hardeman.nu> Cc: Srinivasa Deevi <srinivasa.deevi@conexant.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2010-05-19V4L/DVB: ir: prepare IR code for a parameter change at register functionMauro Carvalho Chehab1-1/+1
A latter patch will reuse the ir_input_register with a different meaning. Before it, change all occurrences to a temporary name. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2010-05-18V4L/DVB: ir-core: export driver name used by IR via ueventMauro Carvalho Chehab1-1/+4
Now, both driver and keytable names are exported to userspace. This will help userspace to decide when a table need to be replaced by another one. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2010-03-30include cleanup: Update gfp.h and slab.h includes to prepare for breaking ↵Tejun Heo1-0/+1
implicit slab.h inclusion from percpu.h percpu.h is included by sched.h and module.h and thus ends up being included when building most .c files. percpu.h includes slab.h which in turn includes gfp.h making everything defined by the two files universally available and complicating inclusion dependencies. percpu.h -> slab.h dependency is about to be removed. Prepare for this change by updating users of gfp and slab facilities include those headers directly instead of assuming availability. As this conversion needs to touch large number of source files, the following script is used as the basis of conversion. http://userweb.kernel.org/~tj/misc/slabh-sweep.py The script does the followings. * Scan files for gfp and slab usages and update includes such that only the necessary includes are there. ie. if only gfp is used, gfp.h, if slab is used, slab.h. * When the script inserts a new include, it looks at the include blocks and try to put the new include such that its order conforms to its surrounding. It's put in the include block which contains core kernel includes, in the same order that the rest are ordered - alphabetical, Christmas tree, rev-Xmas-tree or at the end if there doesn't seem to be any matching order. * If the script can't find a place to put a new include (mostly because the file doesn't have fitting include block), it prints out an error message indicating which .h file needs to be added to the file. The conversion was done in the following steps. 1. The initial automatic conversion of all .c files updated slightly over 4000 files, deleting around 700 includes and adding ~480 gfp.h and ~3000 slab.h inclusions. The script emitted errors for ~400 files. 2. Each error was manually checked. Some didn't need the inclusion, some needed manual addition while adding it to implementation .h or embedding .c file was more appropriate for others. This step added inclusions to around 150 files. 3. The script was run again and the output was compared to the edits from #2 to make sure no file was left behind. 4. Several build tests were done and a couple of problems were fixed. e.g. lib/decompress_*.c used malloc/free() wrappers around slab APIs requiring slab.h to be added manually. 5. The script was run on all .h files but without automatically editing them as sprinkling gfp.h and slab.h inclusions around .h files could easily lead to inclusion dependency hell. Most gfp.h inclusion directives were ignored as stuff from gfp.h was usually wildly available and often used in preprocessor macros. Each slab.h inclusion directive was examined and added manually as necessary. 6. percpu.h was updated not to include slab.h. 7. Build test were done on the following configurations and failures were fixed. CONFIG_GCOV_KERNEL was turned off for all tests (as my distributed build env didn't work with gcov compiles) and a few more options had to be turned off depending on archs to make things build (like ipr on powerpc/64 which failed due to missing writeq). * x86 and x86_64 UP and SMP allmodconfig and a custom test config. * powerpc and powerpc64 SMP allmodconfig * sparc and sparc64 SMP allmodconfig * ia64 SMP allmodconfig * s390 SMP allmodconfig * alpha SMP allmodconfig * um on x86_64 SMP allmodconfig 8. percpu.h modifications were reverted so that it could be applied as a separate patch and serve as bisection point. Given the fact that I had only a couple of failures from tests on step 6, I'm fairly confident about the coverage of this conversion patch. If there is a breakage, it's likely to be something in one of the arch headers which should be easily discoverable easily on most builds of the specific arch. 2010-02-26V4L/DVB (13634): ir-core: allow passing IR device parameters to ir-coreMauro Carvalho Chehab1-1/+1
Adds an structure to ir_input_register to contain IR device characteristics, like supported protocols and a callback to handle protocol event changes. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2009-12-16V4L/DVB (13617): ir: move input_register_device() to happen inside ↵Mauro Carvalho Chehab1-6/+2
ir_input_register() We'll need to register a sysfs class for the IR devices. As such, the better is to have the input_register_device()/input_unregister_device() inside the ir register/unregister functions. Also, solves a naming problem with V4L ir_input_init() function, that were, in fact, registering a device. While here, do a few cleanups at budget-ci IR logic. 2009-12-16V4L/DVB (13616): IR: rename ir_input_free as ir_input_unregisterMauro Carvalho Chehab1-2/+2
Now, ir_input_free does more than just freeing the keytab. Better to rename it as ir_input_unregister. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2009-12-05V4L/DVB (13537): ir: Prepare the code for dynamic keycode table allocationMauro Carvalho Chehab1-1/+7
Currently, the IR table is initialized by calling ir_input_init(). However, this function doesn't return any error code, nor has a function to be called when de-initializing the IR's. Change the return argment to integer and make sure that each driver will handle the error code. Also adds a function to free any resources that may be allocating there: ir_input_free(). 2009-06-17V4L/DVB (11843): ir-kbd-i2c: Don't use i2c_client.name for our own needsJean Delvare1-1/+1
In the standard device driver binding model, the name field of struct i2c_client is used to match devices to their drivers, so we must stop using it for internal purposes. Define a separate field in struct IR_i2c as a replacement, and use it. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
