2018-01-29media: cxusb, dib0700: ignore XC2028_I2C_FLUSHMauro Carvalho Chehab2-0/+3
The XC2028_I2C_FLUSH only needs to be implemented on a few devices. Others can safely ignore it. That prevents filling the dmesg with lots of messages like: dib0700: stk7700ph_xc3028_callback: unknown command 2, arg 0 Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Fixes: 4d37ece757a8 ("[media] tuner/xc2028: Add I2C flush callback") Reported-by: Enrico Mioso <mrkiko.rs@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@osg.samsung.com>

2018-01-04media: fix usage of whitespaces and on indentationMauro Carvalho Chehab9-34/+34
On several places, whitespaces are being used for indentation, or even at the end of the line. Fix them. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>

As reported on [1], this device needs this quirk to be able to reliably initialise the webcam. 2018-01-04media: uvcvideo: Add a metadata device nodeGuennadi Liakhovetski7-22/+370
Some UVC video cameras contain metadata in their payload headers. This patch extracts that data, adding more clock synchronisation information, on both bulk and isochronous endpoints and makes it available to the user space on a separate video node, using the V4L2_CAP_META_CAPTURE capability and the V4L2_BUF_TYPE_META_CAPTURE buffer queue type. By default, only the V4L2_META_FMT_UVC pixel format is available from those nodes. However, cameras can be added to the device ID table to additionally specify their own metadata format, in which case that format will also become available from the metadata node. 2018-01-04media: uvcvideo: Add extensible device informationGuennadi Liakhovetski1-49/+78
Currently the UVC driver assigns a quirk bitmask to the .driver_info field of struct usb_device_id. This patch instroduces a struct to store quirks and possibly other per-device parameters in the future. The V4L2 core populates the struct v4l2_capability device_caps field from the same field in video_device. There's no need to handle that manually in the driver. 2018-01-04media: uvcvideo: Use ktime_t for timestampsArnd Bergmann2-26/+13
uvc_video_get_ts() returns a 'struct timespec', but all its users really want a nanoseconds variable anyway. Changing the deprecated ktime_get_ts/ktime_get_real_ts to ktime_get and ktime_get_real simplifies the code noticeably, while keeping the resulting numbers unchanged. 'struct timespec' works fine here, but we try to migrate away from it in favor of ktime_t or timespec64. In this case, using ktime_t produces the simplest code. 2017-12-18media: pvrusb2: correctly return V4L2_PIX_FMT_MPEG in enum_fmtHans Verkuil1-25/+7
The pvrusb2 code appears to have a some old workaround code for xawtv that causes a WARN() due to an unrecognized pixelformat 0 in v4l2_ioctl.c. Since all other MPEG drivers fill this in correctly, it is a safe assumption that this particular problem no longer exists. While I'm at it, clean up the code a bit. 2017-12-18media: get rid of i2c-addr.hMauro Carvalho Chehab2-2/+0
In the past, the same I2C address were used on multiple places. After I2C rebinding changes, this is no longer needed. So, we can just get rid of this header, placing the I2C address where they belong, e. g. either at bttv driver or at tvtuner. 2017-12-18media: v4l2-dev: convert VFL_TYPE_* into an enumMauro Carvalho Chehab3-0/+6
Using enums makes easier to document, as it can use kernel-doc markups. It also allows cross-referencing, with increases the kAPI readability. Please notice that now cx88_querycap() has to have a default for the VFL type, as there are more types than supported by the driver. 2017-12-08media: pulse8-cec: print time using time64_tArnd Bergmann1-2/+2
The firmware timestamp is an unsigned 32-bit value, but we copy it into a signed 32-bit variable, so we can theoretically get an overflow in the calculation when the timestamp is between 2038 and 2106. This changes the temporary variable to time64_t and changes the deprecated time_to_tm() over to time64_to_tm() accordingly. There is still an overflow in y2106, but that is a limitation of the firmware interface, not a kernel problem. 2017-11-22treewide: setup_timer() -> timer_setup()Kees Cook2-12/+9
This converts all remaining cases of the old setup_timer() API into using timer_setup(), where the callback argument is the structure already holding the struct timer_list. These should have no behavioral changes, since they just change which pointer is passed into the callback with the same available pointers after conversion. It handles the following examples, in addition to some other variations. Casting from unsigned long: void my_callback(unsigned long data) { struct something *ptr = (struct something *)data; ... } ... setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, ptr); and forced object casts: void my_callback(struct something *ptr) { ... } ... setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, (unsigned long)ptr); become: void my_callback(struct timer_list *t) { struct something *ptr = from_timer(ptr, t, my_timer); ... } ... timer_setup(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0); Direct function assignments: void my_callback(unsigned long data) { struct something *ptr = (struct something *)data; ... } ... ptr->my_timer.function = my_callback; have a temporary cast added, along with converting the args: void my_callback(struct timer_list *t) { struct something *ptr = from_timer(ptr, t, my_timer); ... } ... ptr->my_timer.function = (TIMER_FUNC_TYPE)my_callback; And finally, callbacks without a data assignment: void my_callback(unsigned long data) { ... } ... setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0); have their argument renamed to verify they're unused during conversion: void my_callback(struct timer_list *unused) { ... } ... timer_setup(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0); The conversion is done with the following Coccinelle script: spatch --very-quiet --all-includes --include-headers \ -I ./arch/x86/include -I ./arch/x86/include/generated \ -I ./include -I ./arch/x86/include/uapi \ -I ./arch/x86/include/generated/uapi -I ./include/uapi \ -I ./include/generated/uapi --include ./include/linux/kconfig.h \ --dir . \ --cocci-file ~/src/data/timer_setup.cocci @fix_address_of@ expression e;
