2021-05-11media: gscpa/stv06xx: fix memory leakHans Verkuil1-0/+9
[ Upstream commit 4f4e6644cd876c844cdb3bea2dd7051787d5ae25 ] For two of the supported sensors the stv06xx driver allocates memory which is stored in sd->sensor_priv. This memory is freed on a disconnect, but if the probe() fails, then it isn't freed and so this leaks memory. Add a new probe_error() op that drivers can use to free any allocated memory in case there was a probe failure. Thanks to Pavel Skripkin <paskripkin@gmail.com> for discovering the cause of the memory leak. 2020-04-01media: stv06xx: add missing descriptor sanity checksJohan Hovold1-1/+18
commit 485b06aadb933190f4bc44e006076bc27a23f205 upstream. Make sure to check that we have two alternate settings and at least one endpoint before accessing the second altsetting structure and dereferencing the endpoint arrays. This specifically avoids dereferencing NULL-pointers or corrupting memory when a device does not have the expected descriptors. Note that the sanity checks in stv06xx_start() and pb0100_start() are not redundant as the driver is mixing looking up altsettings by index and by number, which may not coincide. 2017-01-27[media] media: Drop FSF's postal address from the source code filesSakari Ailus1-4/+0
Drop the FSF's postal address from the source code files that typically contain mostly the license text. Of the 628 removed instances, 578 are outdated. The patch has been created with the following command without manual edits: git grep -l "675 Mass Ave\|59 Temple Place\|51 Franklin St" -- \ drivers/media/ include/media|while read i; do i=$i perl -e ' open(F,"< $ENV{i}"); $a=join("", <F>); $a =~ s/[ \t]*\*\n.*You should.*\n.*along with.*\n.*(\n.*USA.*$)?\n//m && $a =~ s/(^.*)Or, (point your browser to) /$1To obtain the license, $2\n$1/m; close(F); open(F, "> $ENV{i}"); print F $a; close(F);'; done Signed-off-by: Sakari Ailus <sakari.ailus@linux.intel.com>

2016-10-21[media] gspca: don't break long linesMauro Carvalho Chehab1-6/+3
Due to the 80-cols restrictions, and latter due to checkpatch warnings, several strings were broken into multiple lines. This is not considered a good practice anymore, as it makes harder to grep for strings at the source code. As we're right now fixing other drivers due to KERN_CONT, we need to be able to identify what printk strings don't end with a "\n". It is a way easier to detect those if we don't break long lines. So, join those continuation lines. The patch was generated via the script below, and manually adjusted if needed. </script> use Text::Tabs; while (<>) { if ($next ne "") { $c=$_; if ($c =~ /^\s+\"(.*)/) { $c2=$1; $next =~ s/\"\n$//; $n = expand($next); $funpos = index($n, '('); $pos = index($c2, '",'); if ($funpos && $pos > 0) { $s1 = substr $c2, 0, $pos + 2; $s2 = ' ' x ($funpos + 1) . substr $c2, $pos + 2; $s2 =~ s/^\s+//; $s2 = ' ' x ($funpos + 1) . $s2 if ($s2 ne ""); print unexpand("$next$s1\n"); print unexpand("$s2\n") if ($s2 ne ""); } else { print "$next$c2\n"; } $next=""; next; } else { print $next; } $next=""; } else { if (m/\"$/) { if (!m/\\n\"$/) { $next=$_; next; } } } print $_; } </script> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>

2013-03-05[media] gspca: Remove gspca-specific debug magicTheodore Kilgore1-6/+11
Instead use v4l2_dbg and v4l2_err. Note that the PDEBUG macro is kept to make this patch-set less invasive, but it is simply a wrapper around v4l2_dbg now. Most of the other changes are there to make the dev parameter for the v4l2_xxx macros available everywhere we do logging.
