2017-08-28media: dw2102: make dvb_usb_device_description structures constBhumika Goyal1-7/+7
dvb_usb_device_description structures are only used during a copy operation. Therefore, declare them as const. Signed-off-by: Bhumika Goyal <bhumirks@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2017-08-27media: dvb-usb: Add memory free on error path in dw2102_probe()Anton Vasilyev1-17/+22
If dw2102_probe() fails on dvb_usb_device_init(), then memleak occurs. The patch adds deallocation to the error path. Found by Linux Driver Verification project (linuxtesting.org). 2017-08-20media: rc: rename RC_TYPE_* to RC_PROTO_* and RC_BIT_* to RC_PROTO_BIT_*Sean Young11-131/+132
RC_TYPE is confusing and it's just the protocol. So rename it. Suggested-by: Hans Verkuil <hans.verkuil@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: Sean Young <sean@mess.org> Acked-by: Hans Verkuil <hans.verkuil@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2017-08-20media: rc-core: rename input_name to device_nameSean Young1-1/+1
When an ir-spi is registered, you get this message. rc rc0: Unspecified device as /devices/platform/soc/3f215080.spi/spi_master/spi32766/spi32766.128/rc/rc0 "Unspecified device" refers to input_name, which makes no sense for IR TX only devices. So, rename to device_name. Also make driver_name const char* so that no casts are needed anywhere. Now ir-spi reports: rc rc0: IR SPI as /devices/platform/soc/3f215080.spi/spi_master/spi32766/spi32766.128/rc/rc0 Signed-off-by: Sean Young <sean@mess.org> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2017-06-24media: dib0700: fix error handling in dib0700_i2c_xfer_legacy()Dan Carpenter1-7/+13
Mostly this adds some unlocks to error paths. But, if you see where there were "break;" statements before, I changed those paths to return error codes instead of returning success. 2017-06-24media: dib0700: fix locking in dib0700_i2c_xfer_new()Dan Carpenter1-6/+12
This patch mostly adds unlocks to error paths. But one additional small change is that I made the first "break;" a "goto unlock;" which means that now we return failure instead of success on that path. 2017-03-06[media] dw2102: don't do DMA on stackJonathan McDowell1-99/+145
On Kernel 4.9, WARNINGs about doing DMA on stack are hit at the dw2102 driver: one in su3000_power_ctrl() and the other in tt_s2_4600_frontend_attach(). Both were due to the use of buffers on the stack as parameters to dvb_usb_generic_rw() and the resulting attempt to do DMA with them. The device was non-functional as a result. So, switch this driver over to use a buffer within the device state structure, as has been done with other DVB-USB drivers. Tested with TechnoTrend TT-connect S2-4600. 2017-02-28lib/vsprintf.c: remove %Z supportAlexey Dobriyan1-2/+2
Now that %z is standartised in C99 there is no reason to support %Z. Unlike %L it doesn't even make format strings smaller. Use BUILD_BUG_ON in a couple ATM drivers. In case anyone didn't notice lib/vsprintf.o is about half of SLUB which is in my opinion is quite an achievement. Hopefully this patch inspires someone else to trim vsprintf.c more. 2017-02-08[media] cxusb: Use a dma capable buffer also for readingStefan Brüns1-7/+8
Commit 17ce039b4e54 ("[media] cxusb: don't do DMA on stack") added a kmalloc'ed bounce buffer for writes, but missed to do the same for reads. As the read only happens after the write is finished, we can reuse the same buffer. As dvb_usb_generic_rw handles a read length of 0 by itself, avoid calling it using the dvb_usb_generic_read wrapper function. 2017-01-30[media] rc-main: assign driver type during allocationAndi Shyti1-2/+1
The driver type can be assigned immediately when an RC device requests to the framework to allocate the device. This is an 'enum rc_driver_type' data type and specifies whether the device is a raw receiver or scancode receiver. The type will be given as parameter to the rc_allocate_device device. Change accordingly all the drivers calling rc_allocate_device() so that the device type is specified during the rc device allocation. Whenever the device type is not specified, it will be set as RC_DRIVER_SCANCODE which was the default '0' value. 2016-12-21[media] pctv452e: move buffer to heap, no mutexMax Kellermann1-61/+72
commit 73d5c5c864f4 ("[media] pctv452e: don't do DMA on stack") caused a NULL pointer dereference which occurs when dvb_usb_init() calls dvb_usb_device_power_ctrl() for the first time, before the frontend has been attached. It also caused a recursive deadlock because tt3650_ci_msg_locked() has already locked the mutex. So, partially revert it, but move the buffer to the heap (DMA capable), not to the stack (may not be DMA capable). Instead of sharing one buffer which needs mutex protection, do a new heap allocation for each call. 2016-10-21[media] dvb-usb: don't break long linesMauro Carvalho Chehab10-32/+14
Due to the 80-cols restrictions, and latter due to checkpatch warnings, several strings were broken into multiple lines. This is not considered a good practice anymore, as it makes harder to grep for strings at the source code. As we're right now fixing other drivers due to KERN_CONT, we need to be able to identify what printk strings don't end with a "\n". It is a way easier to detect those if we don't break long lines. So, join those continuation lines. The patch was generated via the script below, and manually adjusted if needed. </script> use Text::Tabs; while (<>) { if ($next ne "") { $c=$_; if ($c =~ /^\s+\"(.*)/) { $c2=$1; $next =~ s/\"\n$//; $n = expand($next); $funpos = index($n, '('); $pos = index($c2, '",'); if ($funpos && $pos > 0) { $s1 = substr $c2, 0, $pos + 2; $s2 = ' ' x ($funpos + 1) . substr $c2, $pos + 2; $s2 =~ s/^\s+//; $s2 = ' ' x ($funpos + 1) . $s2 if ($s2 ne ""); print unexpand("$next$s1\n"); print unexpand("$s2\n") if ($s2 ne ""); } else { print "$next$c2\n"; } $next=""; next; } else { print $next; } $next=""; } else { if (m/\"$/) { if (!m/\\n\"$/) { $next=$_; next; } } } print $_; } </script> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
