[ Upstream commit e20b248051ca0f90d84b4d9378e4780bc31f16c6 ] v4l2-compliance fails with this message: fail: v4l2-test-formats.cpp(672): \ Video Capture Multiplanar: TRY_FMT(G_FMT) != G_FMT fail: v4l2-test-formats.cpp(672): \ Video Output Multiplanar: TRY_FMT(G_FMT) != G_FMT ... test VIDIOC_TRY_FMT: FAIL The default pixel format was setup as pointing to a specific offset in the vpe_formats table assuming it was pointing to the V4L2_PIX_FMT_YUYV entry. This became false after the addition on the NV21 format (see above commid-id) So instead of hard-coding an offset which might change over time we need to use a lookup helper instead so we know the default will always be what we intended. 2019-11-28media: vivid: Fix wrong locking that causes race conditions on streaming stopAlexander Popov3-9/+15
commit 6dcd5d7a7a29c1e4b8016a06aed78cd650cd8c27 upstream. There is the same incorrect approach to locking implemented in vivid_stop_generating_vid_cap(), vivid_stop_generating_vid_out() and sdr_cap_stop_streaming(). These functions are called during streaming stopping with vivid_dev.mutex locked. And they all do the same mistake while stopping their kthreads, which need to lock this mutex as well. See the example from vivid_stop_generating_vid_cap(): /* shutdown control thread */ vivid_grab_controls(dev, false); mutex_unlock(&dev->mutex); kthread_stop(dev->kthread_vid_cap); dev->kthread_vid_cap = NULL; mutex_lock(&dev->mutex); But when this mutex is unlocked, another vb2_fop_read() can lock it instead of vivid_thread_vid_cap() and manipulate the buffer queue. That causes a use-after-free access later. To fix those issues let's: 1. avoid unlocking the mutex in vivid_stop_generating_vid_cap(), vivid_stop_generating_vid_out() and sdr_cap_stop_streaming(); 2. use mutex_trylock() with schedule_timeout_uninterruptible() in the loops of the vivid kthread handlers. 2019-11-28media: vivid: Set vid_cap_streaming and vid_out_streaming to trueVandana BN2-6/+0
commit b4add02d2236fd5f568db141cfd8eb4290972eb3 upstream. When vbi stream is started, followed by video streaming, the vid_cap_streaming and vid_out_streaming were not being set to true, which would cause the video stream to stop when vbi stream is stopped. This patch allows to set vid_cap_streaming and vid_out_streaming to true. According to Hans Verkuil it appears that these 'if (dev->kthread_vid_cap)' checks are a left-over from the original vivid development and should never have been there. 2019-11-25media: isif: fix a NULL pointer dereference bugWenwen Wang1-1/+2
[ Upstream commit a26ac6c1bed951b2066cc4b2257facd919e35c0b ] In isif_probe(), there is a while loop to get the ISIF base address and linearization table0 and table1 address. In the loop body, the function platform_get_resource() is called to get the resource. If platform_get_resource() returns NULL, the loop is terminated and the execution goes to 'fail_nobase_res'. Suppose the loop is terminated at the first iteration because platform_get_resource() returns NULL and the execution goes to 'fail_nobase_res'. Given that there is another while loop at 'fail_nobase_res' and i equals to 0, one iteration of the second while loop will be executed. However, the second while loop does not check the return value of platform_get_resource(). This can cause a NULL pointer dereference bug if the return value is a NULL pointer. This patch avoids the above issue by adding a check in the second while loop after the call to platform_get_resource(). Namely, these functions: v4l2_m2m_next_buf v4l2_m2m_last_buf v4l2_m2m_buf_remove v4l2_m2m_next_src_buf v4l2_m2m_next_dst_buf v4l2_m2m_last_src_buf v4l2_m2m_last_dst_buf v4l2_m2m_src_buf_remove v4l2_m2m_dst_buf_remove return a struct vb2_v4l2_buffer, and not a struct vb2_buffer. Fixing this is necessary to fix the mem2mem buffer handling API, changing the return to the correct struct vb2_v4l2_buffer instead of a void pointer. [ Upstream commit 2ec7debd44b49927a6e2861521994cc075a389ed ] The struct clk_init_data init variable is declared in the isp_xclk_init() function so is an automatic variable allocated in the stack. But it's not explicitly zero-initialized, so some init fields are left uninitialized. This causes the data structure to have undefined values that may confuse the common clock framework when the clock is registered. For example, the uninitialized .flags field could have the CLK_IS_CRITICAL bit set, causing the framework to wrongly prepare the clk on registration. This leads to the isp_xclk_prepare() callback being called, which in turn calls to the omap3isp_get() function that increments the isp dev refcount. Since this omap3isp_get() call is unexpected, this leads to an unbalanced omap3isp_get() call that prevents the requested IRQ to be later enabled, due the refcount not being 0 when the correct omap3isp_get() call happens. functions [ Upstream commit 4faeaf9c0f4581667ce5826f9c90c4fd463ef086 ] Look up of buffers in s5p_mfc_handle_frame_new, s5p_mfc_handle_frame_copy_time functions is not working properly for DMA addresses above 2 GiB. As a result flags and timestamp of returned buffers are not set correctly and it breaks operation of GStreamer/OMX plugins which rely on the CAPTURE buffer queue flags. Due to improper return type of the get_dec_y_adr, get_dspl_y_adr callbacks and sign bit extension these callbacks return incorrect address values, e.g. 0xfffffffffefc0000 instead of 0x00000000fefc0000. Then the statement: "if (vb2_dma_contig_plane_dma_addr(&dst_buf->b->vb2_buf, 0) == dec_y_addr)" is always false, which breaks looking up capture queue buffers. To ensure proper matching by address u32 type is used for the DMA addresses. This should work on all related SoCs, since the MFC DMA address width is not larger than 32-bit. Changes done in this patch are minimal as there is a larger patch series pending refactoring the whole driver. As Sylvester explains, we actually need to ensure that the value is within the range, so this reworks the loop to be easier to parse correctly, and an additional check to fall back on the first format value for any unexpected input. [ Upstream commit e3b4d10cc057522353c4a02f2f90dca6a52e006f ] The conversion from soc_camera omitted a correct handling of the clock gating for a sensor. When the pxa_camera driver module was removed it tried to unregister clk, but this caused a similar warning: WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 6740 at drivers/media/v4l2-core/v4l2-clk.c:278 v4l2_clk_unregister(): Refusing to unregister ref-counted 0-0030 clock! The clock was at time still refcounted by the sensor driver. Before the removing of the pxa_camera the clock must be dropped by the sensor driver. This should be triggered by v4l2_async_notifier_unregister() call which removes sensor driver module too, calls unbind() function and then tries to probe sensor driver again. Inside unbind() we can safely unregister the v4l2 clock as the sensor driver got removed. The original v4l2_clk_unregister() should be put inside test as the clock can be already unregistered from unbind(). If there was not any bound sensor the clock is still present. [ Upstream commit 4461c84b52b4a952c657505ef7e4e06b016783df ] With multiple inputs through the BRU it is feasible for the streams to race each other at stream-on. Multiple VIDIOC_STREAMON calls racing each other could have process N-1 skipping over the pipeline setup section and then start the pipeline early, if videobuf2 has already enqueued buffers to the driver for process N but not called the .start_streaming() operation yet In the case of the video pipelines, this can present two serious issues. 1) A null-dereference if the pipe->dl is committed at the same time as the vsp1_video_setup_pipeline() is processing 2) A hardware hang, where a display list is committed without having called vsp1_video_setup_pipeline() first Repair this issue, by ensuring that only the stream which configures the pipeline is able to start it.
