2022-08-17Revert "devcoredump: remove the useless gfp_t parameter in dev_coredumpv and ↵Greg Kroah-Hartman1-1/+1
dev_coredumpm" commit 38a523a2946d3a0961d141d477a1ee2b1f3bdbb1 upstream. This reverts commit 77515ebaf01920e2db49e04672ef669a7c2907f2 as it causes build problems in linux-next. It needs to be reintroduced in a way that can allow the api to evolve and not require a "flag day" to catch all users. 2022-08-17devcoredump: remove the useless gfp_t parameter in dev_coredumpv and ↵Duoming Zhou1-1/+1
dev_coredumpm [ Upstream commit 77515ebaf01920e2db49e04672ef669a7c2907f2 ] The dev_coredumpv() and dev_coredumpm() could not be used in atomic context, because they call kvasprintf_const() and kstrdup() with GFP_KERNEL parameter. The process is shown below: dev_coredumpv(.., gfp_t gfp) dev_coredumpm(.., gfp_t gfp) dev_set_name kobject_set_name_vargs kvasprintf_const(GFP_KERNEL, ...); //may sleep kstrdup(s, GFP_KERNEL); //may sleep This patch removes gfp_t parameter of dev_coredumpv() and dev_coredumpm() and changes the gfp_t parameter of kzalloc() in dev_coredumpm() to GFP_KERNEL in order to show they could not be used in atomic context. 2022-04-24media: venus: do not queue internal buffers from previous sequenceVikash Garodia1-9/+25
During reconfig (DRC) event from firmware, it is not guaranteed that all the DPB(internal) buffers would be released by the firmware. Some buffers might be released gradually while processing frames from the new sequence. These buffers now stay idle in the dpblist. In subsequent call to queue the DPBs to firmware, these idle buffers should not be queued. The fix identifies those buffers and free them. 2022-03-18media: Kconfig: cleanup VIDEO_DEV dependenciesMauro Carvalho Chehab2-2/+2
media Kconfig has two entries associated to V4L API: VIDEO_DEV and VIDEO_V4L2. On Kernel 2.6.x, there were two V4L APIs, each one with its own flag. VIDEO_DEV were meant to: 1) enable Video4Linux and make its Kconfig options to appear; 2) it makes the Kernel build the V4L core. while VIDEO_V4L2 where used to distinguish between drivers that implement the newer API and drivers that implemented the former one. With time, such meaning changed, specially after the removal of all V4L version 1 drivers. At the current implementation, VIDEO_DEV only does (1): it enables the media options related to V4L, that now has: menu "Video4Linux options" visible if VIDEO_DEV source "drivers/media/v4l2-core/Kconfig" endmenu but it doesn't affect anymore the V4L core drivers. The rationale is that the V4L2 core has a "soft" dependency at the I2C bus, and now requires to select a number of other Kconfig options: config VIDEO_V4L2 tristate depends on (I2C || I2C=n) && VIDEO_DEV select RATIONAL select VIDEOBUF2_V4L2 if VIDEOBUF2_CORE default (I2C || I2C=n) && VIDEO_DEV In the past, merging them would be tricky, but it seems that it is now possible to merge those symbols, in order to simplify V4L dependencies. Let's keep VIDEO_DEV, as this one is used on some make *defconfig configurations. The sm8250 CAMSS CSID depends on the VFE it is attached to being powered on and clocked prior to taking the CSID out of reset. It is possible to open just the CSID subdev from libcamera and attempt to bring the CSID block up. If we do not first bring up the VFE the CSID will fail to come out of reset. 2022-01-23media: camss: Add SM8250 bandwdith configuration supportBryan O'Donoghue2-0/+98
Downstream makes some pretty explicit comments about voting for bus bandwidth prior to camcc_camnoc_axi_clk_src. Working with camx downstream also shows that the bandwidth vote is required to get that root clock working. Add a simple mechanism to declare set and unset named NOCs. Whereas the objective is to enable the sm8250 specifically the code has been implemented to allow setting of whatever NOCs different SoCs using this driver may require. The Titan 480 camss found on SM8250 has 6 CSIPHY and 4 VFE/CSID. CSID is compatible with the Titan 170 CSID, but the Titan 480 CSID are inside the VFE region (between the "top" and "bus" registers), so a workaround is added to avoid ioremap failure.
