2024-08-03media: imx-jpeg: Drop initial source change event if capture has been setupMing Qian1-0/+3
[ Upstream commit a8fb5fce7a441d37d106c82235e1f1b57f70f5b9 ] In section 4.5.1.5. Initialization, the step 4 may be skipped and continue with the Capture Setup sequence, so if the capture has been setup, there is no need to trigger the initial source change event, just start decoding, and follow the dynamic resolution change flow if the configured values do not match those parsed by the decoder. And it won't fail the gstreamer pipeline. 2024-02-16media: imx-jpeg: Support for negotiating bytesperline with clientMing Qian2-0/+17
This mxc-jpeg driver doesn't allow the client to set the bytesperline, but for some android cts case, it need to negotiate the bytesperline between decoder and display, and fail the case if driver doesn't support negotiating bytesperline The jpegdec and jpegenc does support to set bytesperline which is multiple of 2, and greater than the value calulated by driver. 2023-10-13media: imx-jpeg: notify source chagne event when the first picture parsedMing Qian2-1/+7
After gstreamer rework the dynamic resolution change handling, gstreamer stop doing capture buffer allocation based on guesses and wait for the source change event when available. It requires driver always notify source change event in the initialization, even if the size parsed is equal to the size set on capture queue. otherwise, the pipeline will be stalled. Currently driver may not notify source change event if the parsed format and size are equal to those previously established, but it may stall the gstreamer pipeline. 2023-04-11media: mxc-jpeg: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidUwe Kleine-König1-4/+2
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns void. Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant. 2023-03-20media: imx-jpeg: Bounds check sizeimage accessKees Cook1-0/+5
The call of mxc_jpeg_get_plane_size() from mxc_jpeg_dec_irq() sets plane_no argument to 1. The compiler sees that it's possible to end up with an access beyond the bounds of sizeimage, if mem_planes was too large: if (plane_no >= fmt->mem_planes) // mem_planes = 2+ return 0; if (fmt->mem_planes == fmt->comp_planes) // comp_planes != mem_planes return q_data->sizeimage[plane_no]; if (plane_no < fmt->mem_planes - 1) // mem_planes = 2 return q_data->sizeimage[plane_no]; comp_planes == 0 or 1 is safe. comp_planes > 2 would be out of bounds. (This isn't currently possible given the contents of mxc_formats, though.) Silence the warning by bounds checking comp_planes for future robustness. 2022-09-30media: imx-jpeg: Lock on ioctl encoder/decoder stop cmdMing Qian1-0/+6
the ioctl encoder/decoder cmd is under queue lock, and buf_done is in the irq, it can't be locked with the mutex, they are not synchronized. when v4l2_update_last_buf_state is called to handle the encoder/decoder stop cmd, the last src buffer may be done at the same time. so it's possible that last_src_buf is set, but the output rdy_queue is empty, then driver won't mark it stopped, as v4l2_m2m_is_last_draining_src_buf() will always return false and v4l2_m2m_dst_buf_is_last() return false too. In this case, the drain will be blocked. add the hw lock around the ioctl encoder/decoder cmd, to synchronize with the buf_done. 2022-03-18media: Kconfig: cleanup VIDEO_DEV dependenciesMauro Carvalho Chehab1-1/+1
media Kconfig has two entries associated to V4L API: VIDEO_DEV and VIDEO_V4L2. On Kernel 2.6.x, there were two V4L APIs, each one with its own flag. VIDEO_DEV were meant to: 1) enable Video4Linux and make its Kconfig options to appear; 2) it makes the Kernel build the V4L core. while VIDEO_V4L2 where used to distinguish between drivers that implement the newer API and drivers that implemented the former one. With time, such meaning changed, specially after the removal of all V4L version 1 drivers. At the current implementation, VIDEO_DEV only does (1): it enables the media options related to V4L, that now has: menu "Video4Linux options" visible if VIDEO_DEV source "drivers/media/v4l2-core/Kconfig" endmenu but it doesn't affect anymore the V4L core drivers. The rationale is that the V4L2 core has a "soft" dependency at the I2C bus, and now requires to select a number of other Kconfig options: config VIDEO_V4L2 tristate depends on (I2C || I2C=n) && VIDEO_DEV select RATIONAL select VIDEOBUF2_V4L2 if VIDEOBUF2_CORE default (I2C || I2C=n) && VIDEO_DEV In the past, merging them would be tricky, but it seems that it is now possible to merge those symbols, in order to simplify V4L dependencies. Let's keep VIDEO_DEV, as this one is used on some make *defconfig configurations.
