2022-09-24media: cx88: add IR remote support for NotOnlyTV LV3HDaniel González Cabanelas2-1/+2
The PCI hybrid card NotOnlyTV LV3H has a built-in IR receiver connected via I2C bus, currently not supported. This receiver is probably present in more Geniatech cards. It has no capability for repeating when a key is held down. Add support for this built-in IR receiver. Use the existing Total Media In Hand_02 remote keytable (Geniatech Mygica X8507) which matches exactly the LV3H remote. 2022-09-07freezer,sched: Rewrite core freezer logicPeter Zijlstra1-2/+2
Rewrite the core freezer to behave better wrt thawing and be simpler in general. By replacing PF_FROZEN with TASK_FROZEN, a special block state, it is ensured frozen tasks stay frozen until thawed and don't randomly wake up early, as is currently possible. As such, it does away with PF_FROZEN and PF_FREEZER_SKIP, freeing up two PF_flags (yay!). Specifically; the current scheme works a little like: freezer_do_not_count(); schedule(); freezer_count(); And either the task is blocked, or it lands in try_to_freezer() through freezer_count(). Now, when it is blocked, the freezer considers it frozen and continues. However, on thawing, once pm_freezing is cleared, freezer_count() stops working, and any random/spurious wakeup will let a task run before its time. That is, thawing tries to thaw things in explicit order; kernel threads and workqueues before doing bringing SMP back before userspace etc.. However due to the above mentioned races it is entirely possible for userspace tasks to thaw (by accident) before SMP is back. This can be a fatal problem in asymmetric ISA architectures (eg ARMv9) where the userspace task requires a special CPU to run. As said; replace this with a special task state TASK_FROZEN and add the following state transitions: TASK_FREEZABLE -> TASK_FROZEN __TASK_STOPPED -> TASK_FROZEN __TASK_TRACED -> TASK_FROZEN The new TASK_FREEZABLE can be set on any state part of TASK_NORMAL (IOW. TASK_INTERRUPTIBLE and TASK_UNINTERRUPTIBLE) -- any such state is already required to deal with spurious wakeups and the freezer causes one such when thawing the task (since the original state is lost). The special __TASK_{STOPPED,TRACED} states *can* be restored since their canonical state is in ->jobctl. With this, frozen tasks need an explicit TASK_FROZEN wakeup and are free of undue (early / spurious) wakeups. 2022-08-30media: cx23885: reset DMA on AMD Renior/Cezanne IOMMU due to RiSC engine stallDaniel Lee Kruse1-0/+3
MythTv is unable to scan channels with APUs with the Renior IOMMU that is also contained in the Cezanne line of APUs. This issue was discovered on the 5.15 version the kernel. This patch adds the IOMMU PCI ID to the broken_dev_id array. This patch was developed with 5.19 of the media_tree repo. 2022-06-27media: sta2x11: remove VIRT_TO_BUS dependencyArnd Bergmann1-1/+1
This driver does not use the virt_to_bus() function, though it depends on x86 specific fixups in the swiotlb code, which was last rewritten in commit e380a0394c36 ("x86/PCI: sta2x11: use default DMA address translation"). It is possible that the driver still fails to build on some architectures that are missing CONFIG_VIRT_TO_BUS, but it is always set on x86 machines with the STA2X11 platform enabled. More likely though is that it was never meant to depend on CONFIG_VIRT_TO_BUS, and the Kconfig dependency was kept from an out-of-tree version when the driver was originally merged. 2022-03-18media: Kconfig: cleanup VIDEO_DEV dependenciesMauro Carvalho Chehab13-15/+15
media Kconfig has two entries associated to V4L API: VIDEO_DEV and VIDEO_V4L2. On Kernel 2.6.x, there were two V4L APIs, each one with its own flag. VIDEO_DEV were meant to: 1) enable Video4Linux and make its Kconfig options to appear; 2) it makes the Kernel build the V4L core. while VIDEO_V4L2 where used to distinguish between drivers that implement the newer API and drivers that implemented the former one. With time, such meaning changed, specially after the removal of all V4L version 1 drivers. At the current implementation, VIDEO_DEV only does (1): it enables the media options related to V4L, that now has: menu "Video4Linux options" visible if VIDEO_DEV source "drivers/media/v4l2-core/Kconfig" endmenu but it doesn't affect anymore the V4L core drivers. The rationale is that the V4L2 core has a "soft" dependency at the I2C bus, and now requires to select a number of other Kconfig options: config VIDEO_V4L2 tristate depends on (I2C || I2C=n) && VIDEO_DEV select RATIONAL select VIDEOBUF2_V4L2 if VIDEOBUF2_CORE default (I2C || I2C=n) && VIDEO_DEV In the past, merging them would be tricky, but it seems that it is now possible to merge those symbols, in order to simplify V4L dependencies. Let's keep VIDEO_DEV, as this one is used on some make *defconfig configurations. 2022-03-07ivtv: fix incorrect device_caps for ivtvfbHans Verkuil3-13/+9
The VIDIOC_G_FBUF and related overlay ioctls no longer worked (-ENOTTY was returned). The root cause was the introduction of the caps field in ivtv-driver.h. While loading the ivtvfb module would update the video_device device_caps field with V4L2_CAP_VIDEO_OUTPUT_OVERLAY it would not update that caps field, and that's what the overlay ioctls would look at. It's a bad idea to keep information in two places, so drop the caps field and only use vdev.device_caps.
