2018-09-26input: rohm_bu21023: switch to i2c_lock_bus(..., I2C_LOCK_SEGMENT)Peter Rosin1-2/+2
[ Upstream commit 193c2a07cfaacb9249ab0e3d34bce32490879355 ] Locking the root adapter for __i2c_transfer will deadlock if the device sits behind a mux-locked I2C mux. Switch to the finer-grained i2c_lock_bus with the I2C_LOCK_SEGMENT flag. If the device does not sit behind a mux-locked mux, the two locking variants are equivalent. 2018-09-19Input: atmel_mxt_ts - only use first T9 instanceNick Dyer1-3/+4
[ Upstream commit 36f5d9ef26e52edff046b4b097855db89bf0cd4a ] The driver only registers one input device, which uses the screen parameters from the first T9 instance. The first T63 instance also uses those parameters. It is incorrect to send input reports from the second instances of these objects if they are enabled: the input scaling will be wrong and the positions will be mashed together. This also causes problems on Android if the number of slots exceeds 32. In the future, this could be handled by looking for enabled touch object instances and creating an input device for each one. commit f372b81101e6895252298e563d634d5e44ae81e7 upstream. This patch adds the correct platform data information for the Caroline Chromebook, so that the mouse button does not get stuck in pressed state after the first click. The Samus button keymap and platform data definition are the correct ones for Caroline, so they have been reused here. 2018-04-13Input: goodix - disable IRQs while suspendedHans de Goede1-2/+6
[ Upstream commit faec44b6838312484d63e82286087cf2d5ebb891 ] We should not try to do any i2c transfers before the controller is resumed (which happens before our resume method gets called). So we need to disable our IRQ while suspended to enforce this. The code paths for devices with GPIOs for the int and reset pins already disable the IRQ the through goodix_free_irq(). This commit also disables the IRQ while suspended for devices without GPIOs for the int and reset pins. This fixes the i2c bus sometimes getting stuck after a suspend/resume causing the touchscreen to sometimes not work after a suspend/resume. This has been tested on a GPD pocked device. 2018-03-24Input: ar1021_i2c - fix too long name in driver's device tableDmitry Torokhov1-1/+1
[ Upstream commit 95123fc43560d6f4a60e74f72836e63cd8848f76 ] The name field in structure i2c_device_id is 20 characters, and we expect it to be NULL-terminated, however we are trying to stuff it with 21 bytes and thus NULL-terminator is lost. This causes issues when one creates device with name "MICROCHIP_AR1021_I2C" as i2c core cuts off the last "C", and automatic module loading by alias does not work as result. The -I2C suffix in the device name is superfluous, we know what bus we are dealing with, so let's drop it. Also, no other driver uses capitals, and the manufacturer name is normally not included, except in very rare cases of incompatible name collisions. 2016-09-19[media] Input: atmel_mxt: disallow impossible configurationArnd Bergmann1-1/+2
The newnly added debug mode for the atmel_mxt_ts driver relies on the v4l2 interface and vb2_vmalloc, but those might be configured as loadable modules when the driver itself is built-in, resulting in a link failure: drivers/input/touchscreen/atmel_mxt_ts.o: In function `mxt_vidioc_querycap': atmel_mxt_ts.c:(.text.mxt_vidioc_querycap+0x10): undefined reference to `video_devdata' drivers/input/touchscreen/atmel_mxt_ts.o: In function `mxt_buffer_queue': atmel_mxt_ts.c:(.text.mxt_buffer_queue+0x20): undefined reference to `vb2_plane_vaddr' atmel_mxt_ts.c:(.text.mxt_buffer_queue+0x164): undefined reference to `vb2_buffer_done' drivers/input/touchscreen/atmel_mxt_ts.o: In function `mxt_free_object_table': atmel_mxt_ts.c:(.text.mxt_free_object_table+0x18): undefined reference to `video_unregister_device' atmel_mxt_ts.c:(.text.mxt_free_object_table+0x20): undefined reference to `v4l2_device_unregister' The best workaround I could come up with is to disallow the debug mode unless it's actually possible to call it. 2016-09-10Input: silead_gsl1680 - use "silead/" prefix for firmware loadingHans de Goede1-5/+6
The silead touch-controller ICs use a different firmware per digitizer / tablet model. So there are going to be quite a few of then and they really should be under a separate subdir. This commit prefixes the default firmware names with "silead/" just like we are already doing for devicetree specified firmware names. 2016-09-10Input: silead_gsl1680 - document firmware-name, fix implementationHans de Goede1-2/+3
The driver has supported touchscreen-fw-name to specify the firmware to load since it has been merged, but this was omitted from the dt-binding documentation. During review of adding touchscreen-fw-name to the binding documentation it was brought up that there is a standard property name called "firmware-name" for this, which should be used. Since there are no users of touchscreen-fw-name yet, this commit adds documentation of "firmware-name" to the dt-binding documentation and switches the driver over to use this. This commit also makes the driver add a "silead/" prefix to the firmware name from dt before calling request_firmware. That the firmware files are stored under /lib/firmware/silead under Linux is an implementation detail and does not belong in devicetree. 2016-08-25Input: wm97xx - remove deprecated create_singletheread_workqueueBhaktipriya Shridhar1-1/+1
alloc_ordered_workqueue() replaces deprecated create_singlethread_workqueue(). It queues work items via &wm->ts_reader and &wm->pen_event_work which map to wm97xx_pen_irq_worker (handles a pen down interrupt) and wm97xx_ts_reader (the touchscreen sample reader) respectively. Hence, an ordered dedicated workqueue has been used. 2016-08-25Input: mc13783_ts - remove deprecated create_singletheread_workqueueBhaktipriya Shridhar1-17/+7
The workqueue "workqueue" has a single workitem(&priv->work) and hence doesn't require ordering. Also, it is not being used on a memory reclaim path. Hence, the singlethreaded workqueue has been replaced with the use of system_wq. System workqueues have been able to handle high level of concurrency for a long time now and hence it's not required to have a singlethreaded workqueue just to gain concurrency. Unlike a dedicated per-cpu workqueue created with create_singlethread_workqueue(), system_wq allows multiple work items to overlap executions even on the same CPU; however, a per-cpu workqueue doesn't have any CPU locality or global ordering guarantee unless the target CPU is explicitly specified and thus the increase of local concurrency shouldn't make any difference. Workitem is sync cancelled in mc13783_ts_remove() to ensure that there are no workitems pending when the driver is disconnected.
