2026-03-04iio: gyro: itg3200: Fix unchecked return value in read_rawAntoniu Miclaus1-0/+2
[ Upstream commit b79b24f578cdb2d657db23e5fafe82c7e6a36b72 ] The return value from itg3200_read_reg_s16() is stored in ret but never checked. The function unconditionally returns IIO_VAL_INT, ignoring potential I2C read failures. This causes garbage data to be returned to userspace when the read fails, with no error reported. Add proper error checking to propagate the failure to callers. 2026-03-04iio: magnetometer: Remove IRQF_ONESHOTSebastian Andrzej Siewior1-1/+1
[ Upstream commit a54e9440925e6617c98669066b4753c4cdcea8a0 ] Passing IRQF_ONESHOT ensures that the interrupt source is masked until the secondary (threaded) handler is done. If only a primary handler is used then the flag makes no sense because the interrupt can not fire (again) while its handler is running. The flag also disallows force-threading of the primary handler and the irq-core will warn about this. The force-threading functionality is required on PREEMPT_RT because the handler is using locks with can sleep on PREEMPT_RT. Remove IRQF_ONESHOT from irqflags. [ Upstream commit 81d5a5366d3c20203fb9d7345e1aa46d668445a2 ] The driver converts values read from the sensor from BE to CPU endianness in scd4x_read_meas(). The result is then pushed into the buffer in scd4x_trigger_handler(), so on LE architectures parsing the buffer using the reported BE type gave wrong results. scd4x_read_raw() which provides sysfs *_raw values is not affected, it used the values returned by scd4x_read_meas() without further conversion. 2025-10-19iio: xilinx-ams: Unmask interrupts after updating alarmsSean Anderson1-20/+25
commit feb500c7ae7a198db4d2757901bce562feeefa5e upstream. To convert level-triggered alarms into edge-triggered IIO events, alarms are masked when they are triggered. To ensure we catch subsequent alarms, we then periodically poll to see if the alarm is still active. If it isn't, we unmask it. Active but masked alarms are stored in current_masked_alarm. If an active alarm is disabled, it will remain set in current_masked_alarm until ams_unmask_worker clears it. If the alarm is re-enabled before ams_unmask_worker runs, then it will never be cleared from current_masked_alarm. This will prevent the alarm event from being pushed even if the alarm is still active. Fix this by recalculating current_masked_alarm immediately when enabling or disabling alarms. 2025-10-19iio: frequency: adf4350: Fix prescaler usage.Michael Hennerich1-7/+13
commit 33d7ecbf69aa7dd4145e3b77962bcb8759eede3d upstream. The ADF4350/1 features a programmable dual-modulus prescaler of 4/5 or 8/9. When set to 4/5, the maximum RF frequency allowed is 3 GHz. Therefore, when operating the ADF4351 above 3 GHz, this must be set to 8/9. In this context not the RF output frequency is meant - it's the VCO frequency. Therefore move the prescaler selection after we derived the VCO frequency from the desired RF output frequency. This BUG may have caused PLL lock instabilities when operating the VCO at the very high range close to 4.4 GHz. [ Upstream commit f063a28002e3350088b4577c5640882bf4ea17ea ] The threaded IRQ function in this driver is reading the flag twice: once to lock a mutex and once to unlock it. Even though the code setting the flag is designed to prevent it, there are subtle cases where the flag could be true at the mutex_lock stage and false at the mutex_unlock stage. This results in the mutex not being unlocked, resulting in a deadlock. commit 399b883ec828e436f1a721bf8551b4da8727e65b upstream. Fix a potential out-of-bounds array access of the hw_xlate array in bno055.c. In bno055_get_regmask(), hw_xlate was iterated over the length of the vals array instead of the length of the hw_xlate array. In the case of bno055_gyr_scale, the vals array is larger than the hw_xlate array, so this could result in an out-of-bounds access. In practice, this shouldn't happen though because a match should always be found which breaks out of the for loop before it iterates beyond the end of the hw_xlate array. By adding a new hw_xlate_len field to the bno055_sysfs_attr, we can be sure we are iterating over the correct length. commit 8d8d7c1dbc46aa07a76acab7336a42ddd900be10 upstream. The IIO core issues warnings when a scan mask is a subset of a previous entry in the available_scan_masks array. On a board using a MAX11601, the following warning is observed: max1363 1-0064: available_scan_mask 7 subset of 6. Never used This occurs because the entries in the max11607_mode_list[] array are not ordered correctly. To fix this, reorder the entries so that no scan mask is a subset of an earlier one. While at it, reorder the mode_list[] arrays for other supported chips as well, to prevent similar warnings on different variants. Note fixes tag dropped as these were introduced over many commits a long time back and the side effect until recently was a reduction in sampling rate due to reading too many channels when only a few were desired. commit 1fe16dc1a2f5057772e5391ec042ed7442966c9a upstream. fxls8962af_fifo_flush() uses indio_dev->active_scan_mask (with iio_for_each_active_channel()) without making sure the indio_dev stays in buffer mode. There is a race if indio_dev exits buffer mode in the middle of the interrupt that flushes the fifo. Fix this by calling synchronize_irq() to ensure that no interrupt is currently running when disabling buffer mode. 2025-07-06iio: adc: ad_sigma_delta: Fix use of uninitialized status_posPurva Yeshi1-0/+4
[ Upstream commit e5cdb098a3cb165d52282ffc3a6448642953ea13 ] Fix Smatch-detected issue: drivers/iio/adc/ad_sigma_delta.c:604 ad_sd_trigger_handler() error: uninitialized symbol 'status_pos'. The variable `status_pos` was only initialized in specific switch cases (1, 2, 3, 4), which could leave it uninitialized if `reg_size` had an unexpected value. Fix by adding a default case to the switch block to catch unexpected values of `reg_size`. Use `dev_err_ratelimited()` for error logging and `goto irq_handled` instead of returning early.
