[ Upstream commit cb2fc37857693b55909fb77dc2c87cfbc1cdc476 ]
SMBus 3.1 6.5.7 allows a Block Read byte count of 0, but the atomic
(polling) path rejects it as -EPROTO. Worse, it returns without a
NACK+STOP: the next receive cycle has already started, so the target
keeps holding SDA and the bus stays stuck until a power cycle for
this i2c controller.
Reading I2DR to obtain the count likewise arms the next byte on the
count > I2C_SMBUS_BLOCK_MAX path, which also returned -EPROTO directly
and left the bus held.
Handle both: NACK the in-flight dummy byte (TXAK) and extend msgs->len so
the existing last-byte handling emits STOP; the dummy byte is discarded.
A count of 0 is a valid empty block read; a count above
I2C_SMBUS_BLOCK_MAX is still reported as -EPROTO, but only after the bus
has been released.
The interrupt-driven path has the same flaw from a later commit and is
fixed separately, as it carries a different Fixes: tag and stable range.

[ Upstream commit 10dd1a736d557e310a77117832874729a0175d57 ]
A severe livelock and subsequent Hung Task panic were observed in the
i2c-i801 driver during concurrent Fuzzing. The crash is caused by an
unconditional hardware register cleanup in the error handling path of
i801_access().
When i801_check_pre() fails (e.g., returning -EBUSY because the SMBus
controller is actively used by BIOS/ACPI), the kernel does not actually
acquire the hardware ownership. However, the code jumps to the 'out'
label and executes:
iowrite8(SMBHSTSTS_INUSE_STS | STATUS_FLAGS, SMBHSTSTS(priv));
This forcefully clears the INUSE_STS lock and resets the hardware status
flags without owning the controller. Doing so interrupts ongoing BIOS/ACPI
transactions and totally corrupts the SMBus hardware state machine.
Consequently, all subsequent i801_access() calls fail at the pre-check
stage, triggering an endless stream of "SMBus is busy, can't use it!"
error logs. Over a slow serial console, this printk flood monopolizes
the CPU (Console Livelock), starving other processes trying to acquire
the mmap_lock down_read semaphore, ultimately triggering the hung task
watchdog.
Fix this by moving the 'out' label below the hardware register cleanup.
If i801_check_pre() fails, we safely bypass the iowrite8() and only
release the software locks (pm_runtime and mutex), strictly adhering to
the rule of not releasing resources that were never acquired.

commit 111bb7f9f4a90b32e495d70a607c67b137f3074a upstream.
stm32f7_i2c_compute_timing() derives the I2C clock source period
(i2cclk) with DIV_ROUND_CLOSEST, which may round it up. When the
period is overestimated, all timings computed from it (SCLDEL,
SDADEL, SCLL, SCLH) come out shorter on the wire than calculated,
and the resulting bus rate can exceed the requested speed, violating
the I2C specification minimums for tLOW and tHIGH.
For example, with a 104.45 MHz clock source (e.g. PCLK1, the
reset-default I2C clock source on STM32MP1), i2cclk is rounded from
9.574 ns up to 10 ns. Requesting a 400 kHz fast mode bus with
72/27 ns rise/fall times and no analog/digital filters then produces
an actual bus rate of 415.6 kHz with tLOW = 1254 ns, violating both
the 400 kHz maximum rate and the 1300 ns tLOW minimum of the
specification.
Truncate the period instead, so that it can only be underestimated.
The error then falls on the safe side: the programmed timings come
out slightly longer than computed and the bus runs marginally below
the target rate (375.3 kHz in the example above) while meeting the
specification.
i2cbus is left rounded-to-closest: it is only used as the target of
the clk_error comparison and is never multiplied into the programmed
timings, so nearest rounding remains accurate there.

commit 2e9a7f68329be41792c0b123c28e6c53c2fa2249 upstream.
At first glance the harmless cleanup of the driver does nothing bad.
However, as the operator precedence list states the '*' (multiplication)
and '/' division operators have order 5 with left-to-right associativity
the *= has order 17 and associativity right-to-left. It wouldn't be
a problem to replace
foo = foo * HZ / 1000000;
with
foo *= HZ / 1000000;
if HZ constant is in Hertz. The problem is that in the Linux kernel HZ is
defined in jiffy units, which is order of magnitude smaller than a million.
That's why operator precedence has a crucial role here. Fix the regression
by reverting pre-optimized calculations.

Clients can be registered from bus notifier callbacks so the debugfs
directory needs to be created before registering the adapter as clients
use that directory as their debugfs parent.
Move debugfs creation before adapter registration to avoid having
clients create their debugfs directories in the debugfs root (which is
also more likely to fail due to name collisions).
Note that failure to allocate the adapter name must now be handled
explicitly as debugfs_create_dir() cannot handle a NULL name (unlike
device_add() which returns an error).

commit 6036b5067a8199ba7a2dc7b377d4b9dd276d5f9e upstream.
The I2C_SMBUS_I2C_BLOCK_DATA case in stub_xfer() uses data->block[0]
as the transfer length. The existing check only clamps it to avoid
overrunning the chip->words[256] register array, but does not validate
it against I2C_SMBUS_BLOCK_MAX (32), which is the limit of the union
i2c_smbus_data.block buffer (34 bytes total). The driver is a
development/test tool (CONFIG_I2C_STUB=m, not built by default)
that must be loaded with a chip_addr= parameter.
A local user with access to /dev/i2c-* can issue an I2C_SMBUS ioctl
with I2C_SMBUS_I2C_BLOCK_DATA and data->block[0] > 32, causing
stub_xfer() to read or write past the end of the union
i2c_smbus_data.block buffer:

The bug exists because i2c-stub implements .smbus_xfer directly,
bypassing the I2C_SMBUS_BLOCK_MAX validation in
i2c_smbus_xfer_emulated(). The I2C_SMBUS_BLOCK_DATA case in the same
function correctly validates against I2C_SMBUS_BLOCK_MAX, but the
I2C_SMBUS_I2C_BLOCK_DATA case does not.
Fix by rejecting transfers with data->block[0] == 0 or
data->block[0] > I2C_SMBUS_BLOCK_MAX with -EINVAL, consistent with
both the I2C_SMBUS_BLOCK_DATA case in the same function and the
I2C_SMBUS_I2C_BLOCK_DATA validation in i2c_smbus_xfer_emulated().

commit 656646b3847ac6a21b074a813223feef2aadd6e2 upstream.
The Tegra I2C driver relies on runtime PM to wake up the controller before
each transfer. However, runtime PM is disabled between the system suspend
and NOIRQ suspend. If an I2C device initiates a transfer during this
window, the I2C controller fails to wake up and the transfer fails. To
handle this, the controller must be kept available for this period to
allow transfers.
Rework the I2C controller's system PM callbacks such that the controller
is resumed from runtime suspend during system suspend and it stays
RPM_ACTIVE throughout the suspend-resume cycle until it is runtime
suspended back in the system resume. The clocks are disabled in NOIRQ
suspend and enabled back in NOIRQ resume by calling the controller's
runtime PM functions directly.

commit a124579c0763da7bc408f4cd7e8f606cadc94855 upstream.
stm32f7_i2c_compute_timing() uses i2c_dev->analog_filter to pick
the analog filter delay, but i2c_dev->analog_filter is parsed from
the "i2c-analog-filter" DT property only after the compute_timing
loop in stm32f7_i2c_setup_timing(), so in practice the timing
calculations always ignore the analog filter. On an STM32MP1 board
with clock-frequency = <400000> and i2c-analog-filter set, measured
SCL frequency was ~382 kHz.
This also affects (widens) the computed SDADEL range. At high bus
clock speeds, this can select an SDADEL value that violates tVD;DAT
(data valid time).
Fix by parsing "i2c-analog-filter" before the compute_timing loop.

commit 617eb7c0961a8dfcfc811844a6396e406b2923ea upstream.
While fuzzing with Syzkaller, a persistent `schedule_timeout: wrong
timeout value` warning was observed, accompanied by SMBus controller
state machine corruption.
The I2C_TIMEOUT ioctl accepts a user-provided timeout in multiples of
10 ms. The user argument is checked against INT_MAX, but it is
subsequently multiplied by 10 before being passed to msecs_to_jiffies().
A malicious user can pass a large value (e.g., 429496729) that passes
the `arg > INT_MAX` check but overflows when multiplied by 10. This
results in a truncated 32-bit unsigned value that bypasses the
internal `(int)m < 0` check in `msecs_to_jiffies()`.
The truncated value is then assigned to `client->adapter->timeout`
(a signed 32-bit int), which is reinterpreted as a negative number.
When passed to wait_for_completion_timeout(), this negative value
undergoes sign extension to a 64-bit unsigned long, triggering the
`schedule_timeout` warning and causing premature returns. This leaves
the SMBus state machine in an unrecoverable state, constituting a
local Denial of Service (DoS).
Fix this by bounding the user argument to `INT_MAX / 10`.

commit f72e77c33e4b5657af35125e75bab249256030f3 upstream.
In various places in the kernel, we modify the fwnode "flags" member
by doing either:
fwnode->flags |= SOME_FLAG;
fwnode->flags &= ~SOME_FLAG;
This type of modification is not thread-safe. If two threads are both
mucking with the flags at the same time then one can clobber the
other.
While flags are often modified while under the "fwnode_link_lock",
this is not universally true.
Create some accessor functions for setting, clearing, and testing the
FWNODE flags and move all users to these accessor functions. New
accessor functions use set_bit() and clear_bit(), which are
thread-safe.

[ Upstream commit e2def33f9ee1b1a8cda4ec5cde69840b5708f068 ]
`strncpy` is deprecated for use on NUL-terminated destination strings [1].
We should prefer more robust and less ambiguous string interfaces.
We expect name to be NUL-terminated based on its numerous uses with
functions that expect NUL-terminated strings.
For example in i2c-core-base.c +1533:
| dev_dbg(&adap->dev, "adapter [%s] registered\n", adap->name);
NUL-padding is not required as `adap` is already zero-alloacted with:
| adap = devm_kzalloc(&usbif->dev, sizeof(struct i2c_adapter), GFP_KERNEL);
With the above in mind, a suitable replacement is `strscpy` [2] due to
the fact that it guarantees NUL-termination on the destination buffer
without unnecessarily NUL-padding.

[ 1090.888532] sfp sfp-eth0: failed to read EEPROM: -EREMOTEIO
After a discussion [1], there was an attempt to fix the problem by
reverting the offending change by commit 7b211c767121 ("Revert "i2c:
pxa: move to generic GPIO recovery""), but that only helped to fix
the issue in the 6.1.y stable tree. The reason behind the partial succes
is that there was another change in commit 20cb3fce4d60 ("i2c: Set i2c
pinctrl recovery info from it's device pinctrl") in the 6.3-rc1 cycle
which broke things further.
The cause of the problem is the same in case of both offending commits
mentioned above. Namely, the I2C core code changes the pinctrl state to
GPIO while running the recovery initialization code. Although the PXA
specific initialization also does this, but the key difference is that
it happens before the controller is getting enabled in i2c_pxa_reset(),
whereas in the case of the generic initialization it happens after that.
Change the code to reset the controller only before the first transfer
instead of before registering the controller. This ensures that the
controller is not enabled at the time when the generic recovery code
performs the pinctrl state changes, thus avoids the problem described
above.
As the result this change restores the original behaviour, which in
turn makes the I2C communication to work again as it can be seen from
the following log:

commit a6ee6aac66fb394b7f6e6187c73bdcd873f2d139 upstream.
In i2c_amd_probe(), amd_mp2_find_device() utilizes
driver_find_next_device() which internally calls driver_find_device()
to locate the matching device. driver_find_device() increments the
reference count of the found device by calling get_device(), but
amd_mp2_find_device() fails to call put_device() to decrement the
reference count before returning. This results in a reference count
leak of the PCI device each time i2c_amd_probe() is executed, which
may prevent the device from being properly released and cause a memory
leak.

When the driver is removed, the clocks are first enabled by
calling pm_runtime_get_sync(), and then disabled with
pm_runtime_put_sync().
If CONFIG_PM=y, clocks for this controller are disabled when it's in
the idle state. So the clocks are properly disabled when the driver
exits.
Othewise, the clocks are always enabled and the PM functions have
no effect. Therefore, the driver exits without disabling the clocks.
# cat /sys/kernel/debug/clk/clk-pclk/clk_enable_count

# echo 1214a000.i2c > /sys/bus/platform/drivers/i2c_designware/unbind
# cat /sys/kernel/debug/clk/clk-pclk/clk_enable_count

To ensure that the clocks can be disabled correctly even without
CONFIG_PM=y, should add the following fixes:
- Replace with pm_runtime_put_noidle(), which only decrements the runtime
PM usage count.
- Call i2c_dw_prepare_clk(false) to explicitly disable the clocks.

Before each I2C transfer using DMA, the I2C buffer is DMA'pped to make
sure the memory buffer is DMA'able. This is handle in the function
`stm32_i2c_prep_dma_xfer()`.
If the transfer fails for any reason the I2C buffer must be unmap.
Use the dma_callback to factorize the code and fix this issue.
Note that the `stm32f7_i2c_dma_callback()` is now called in case of DMA
transfer success and error and that the `complete()` on the dma_complete
completion structure is done inconditionnally in case of transfer
success or error as well as the `dmaengine_terminate_async()`.
This is allowed as a `complete()` in case transfer error has no effect
as well as a `dmaengine_terminate_async()` on a transfer success.
Also fix the unneeded cast and remove not more needed variables.

[ Upstream commit e6103cd45ef0e14eb02f0666bc6b494902cfe821 ]
The irq handling is currently split between the irq handler
and the threaded irq handler. Some of the handling (such as
dma related stuffs) done within the irq handler might sleep or
take some time leading to issues if the kernel is built with
realtime constraints. In order to fix that, perform an overall
rework to perform most of the job within the threaded handler
and only keep fifo access in the non threaded handler.

commit a663b3c47ab10f66130818cf94eb59c971541c3f upstream.
The current implementation uses wait_for_completion(), which can cause
the caller to hang indefinitely if the transfer never completes.
Switch to wait_for_completion_interruptible() so that the operation can
be interrupted by signals.

which may be interpreted incorrectly. Use device_reset() for
reset control which handles it correctly.

commit a7982a14b3012527a9583d12525cd0dc9f8d8934 upstream.
Original logic only sets the return value but doesn't jump out of the
loop if the bus is kept active by a client. This is not expected. A
malicious or buggy i2c client can hang the kernel in this case and
should be avoided. This is observed during a long time test with a
PCA953x GPIO extender.
Fix it by changing the logic to not only sets the return value, but also
jumps out of the loop and return to the caller with -ETIMEDOUT.

commit 3d30048958e0d43425f6d4e76565e6249fa71050 upstream.
The i2c_dw_xfer_init() function requires msgs and msg_write_idx from the
dev context to be initialized.
amd_i2c_dw_xfer_quirk() inits msgs and msgs_num, but not msg_write_idx.
This could allow an out of bounds access (of msgs).
Initialize msg_write_idx before calling i2c_dw_xfer_init().
