2024-07-11i2c: kempld: reword according to newest specificationWolfram Sang1-2/+2

2024-01-18i2c: Don't let i2c adapters declare I2C_CLASS_SPD support if they support ↵Heiner Kallweit1-2/+1
I2C_CLASS_HWMON After removal of the legacy eeprom driver the only remaining I2C client device driver supporting I2C_CLASS_SPD is jc42. Because this driver also supports I2C_CLASS_HWMON, adapters don't have to declare support for I2C_CLASS_SPD if they support I2C_CLASS_HWMON. It's one step towards getting rid of I2C_CLASS_SPD mid-term. 2023-08-08i2c: kempld: Convert to use regular device PMPaul Cercueil1-11/+8
Provide PM callbacks through platform_driver.driver.pm instead of platform_driver.{suspend,resume} as any good-behaved driver should do. Use the new PM macros for the suspend and resume functions to be automatically dropped by the compiler when CONFIG_PM or CONFIG_PM_SLEEP are disabled, without having to use #ifdef guards. This has the advantage of always compiling these functions in, independently of any Kconfig option. Thanks to that, bugs and other regressions are subsequently easier to catch. 2023-06-05i2c: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidUwe Kleine-König1-4/+2
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns void. 2022-08-12i2c: kempld: Support ACPI I2C device declarationChris Pringle1-0/+1
Adds an ACPI companion to the KEMPLD I2C driver so that it correctly detects any I2C devices nested under the KEMPLD's ACPI node (SBRG.CPLD). This allows I2C devices attached to the KEMPLD I2C adapter to be declared and instantiated via ACPI. 2018-05-29i2c: busses: make use of i2c_8bit_addr_from_msgPeter Rosin1-4/+3
Because it looks neater. For diolan, this allows factoring out some code that is now common between if and else. For eg20t, pch_i2c_writebytes is always called with a write in msgs->flags, and pch_i2c_readbytes with a read. For imx, i2c_imx_dma_write and i2c_imx_write are always called with a write in msgs->flags, and i2c_imx_read with a read. For qup, qup_i2c_write_tx_fifo_v1 is always called with a write in qup->msg->flags. For stu300, also restructure debug output for resends, since that code as a result is only handling debug output.
