2021-03-04drm/sun4i: tcon: fix inverted DCLK polarityGiulio Benetti2-19/+3
[ Upstream commit 67f4aeb2b41a0629abde3794d463547f60b0cbdd ] During commit 88bc4178568b ("drm: Use new DRM_BUS_FLAG_*_(DRIVE|SAMPLE)_(POS|NEG)EDGE flags") DRM_BUS_FLAG_* macros have been changed to avoid ambiguity but just because of this ambiguity previous DRM_BUS_FLAG_PIXDATA_(POS/NEG)EDGE were used meaning _SAMPLE_ not _DRIVE_. This leads to DLCK inversion and need to fix but instead of swapping phase values, let's adopt an easier approach Maxime suggested: It turned out that bit 26 of SUN4I_TCON0_IO_POL_REG is dedicated to invert DCLK polarity and this makes things really easier than before. So let's handle DCLK polarity by adding SUN4I_TCON0_IO_POL_DCLK_DRIVE_NEGEDGE as bit 26 and activating according to bus_flags the same way it is done for all the other signals polarity. 2021-02-17drm/sun4i: dw-hdmi: Fix max. frequency for H6Jernej Skrabec1-4/+2
[ Upstream commit 1926a0508d8947cf081280d85ff035300dc71da7 ] It turns out that reasoning for lowering max. supported frequency is wrong. Scrambling works just fine. Several now fixed bugs prevented proper functioning, even with rates lower than 340 MHz. Issues were just more pronounced with higher frequencies. Fix that by allowing max. supported frequency in HW and fix the comment. 2021-02-17drm/sun4i: Fix H6 HDMI PHY configurationJernej Skrabec1-17/+9
[ Upstream commit 6a155216c48f2f65c8dcb02c4c27549c170d24a9 ] As it turns out, vendor HDMI PHY driver for H6 has a pretty big table of predefined values for various pixel clocks. However, most of them are not useful/tested because they come from reference driver code. Vendor PHY driver is concerned with only few of those, namely 27 MHz, 74.25 MHz, 148.5 MHz, 297 MHz and 594 MHz. These are all frequencies for standard CEA modes. Fix sun50i_h6_cur_ctr and sun50i_h6_phy_config with the values only for aforementioned frequencies. Table sun50i_h6_mpll_cfg doesn't need to be changed because values are actually frequency dependent and not so much SoC dependent. See i.MX6 documentation for explanation of those values for similar PHY. 2021-02-17drm/sun4i: tcon: set sync polarity for tcon1 channelJernej Skrabec2-0/+31
[ Upstream commit 50791f5d7b6a14b388f46c8885f71d1b98216d1d ] Channel 1 has polarity bits for vsync and hsync signals but driver never sets them. It turns out that with pre-HDMI2 controllers seemingly there is no issue if polarity is not set. However, with HDMI2 controllers (H6) there often comes to de-synchronization due to phase shift. This causes flickering screen. It's safe to assume that similar issues might happen also with pre-HDMI2 controllers. Solve issue with setting vsync and hsync polarity. Note that display stacks with tcon top have polarity bits actually in tcon0 polarity register. 2020-11-10drm/sun4i: frontend: Fix the scaler phase on A33Maxime Ripard1-1/+1
[ Upstream commit e3190b5e9462067714d267c40d8c8c1d0463dda3 ] The A33 has a different phase parameter in the Allwinner BSP on the channel1 than the one currently applied. Fix this. 2020-11-10drm/sun4i: frontend: Reuse the ch0 phase for RGB formatsMaxime Ripard1-3/+5
[ Upstream commit 2db9ef9d9e6ea89a9feb5338f58d1f8f83875577 ] When using the scaler on the A10-like frontend with single-planar formats, the current code will setup the channel 0 filter (used for the R or Y component) with a different phase parameter than the channel 1 filter (used for the G/B or U/V components). This creates a bleed out that keeps repeating on of the last line of the RGB plane across the rest of the display. The Allwinner BSP either applies the same phase parameter over both channels or use a separate one, the condition being whether the input format is YUV420 or not. Since YUV420 is both subsampled and multi-planar, and since YUYV is subsampled but single-planar, we can rule out the subsampling and assume that the condition is actually whether the format is single or multi-planar. And it looks like applying the same phase parameter over both channels for single-planar formats fixes our issue, while we keep the multi-planar formats working properly. 2020-11-10drm/sun4i: frontend: Rework a bit the phase dataMaxime Ripard2-31/+9
[ Upstream commit 84c971b356379c621df595bd00c3114579dfa59f ] The scaler filter phase setup in the allwinner kernel has two different cases for setting up the scaler filter, the first one using different phase parameters for the two channels, and the second one reusing the first channel parameters on the second channel. The allwinner kernel has a third option where the horizontal phase of the second channel will be set to a different value than the vertical one (and seems like it's the same value than one used on the first channel). However, that code path seems to never be taken, so we can ignore it for now, and it's essentially what we're doing so far as well. Since we will have always the same values across each components of the filter setup for a given channel, we can simplify a bit our frontend structure by only storing the phase value we want to apply to a given channel. [ Upstream commit bda8eaa6dee7525f4dac950810a85a88bf6c2ba0 ] The HPD sense mechanism in Allwinner's old HDMI encoder hardware is more or less an input-only GPIO. commit 4396393fb96449c56423fb4b351f76e45a6bcaf6 upstream. In commit 0b8e7bbde5e7 ("drm/sun4i: tcon: Set min division of TCON0_DCLK to 1.") it was assumed that all TCON variants support a minimum divider of 1 if only DCLK was used. However, the oldest generation of hardware only supports minimum divider of 4 if only DCLK is used. If a divider of 1 was used on this old hardware, some scrolling artifact would appear. A divider of 2 seemed OK, but a divider of 3 had artifacts as well. Set the minimum divider when outputing to parallel RGB based on the hardware model, with a minimum of 4 for the oldest (A10/A10s/A13/A20) hardware, and a minimum of 1 for the rest. A value is not set for the TCON variants lacking channel 0. This fixes the scrolling artifacts seen on my A13 tablet. Fixes: 0b8e7bbde5e7 ("drm/sun4i: tcon: Set min division of TCON0_DCLK to 1.") Active Front Sync Back Region Porch Porch <-----------------------><----------------><--------------><--------------> //////////////////////| ////////////////////// | ////////////////////// |.................. ................ ________________ <----- [hv]display -----> <------------- [hv]sync_start ------------> <--------------------- [hv]sync_end ----------------------> <-------------------------------- [hv]total ------------------------------> <----- lcd_[xy] --------> <- lcd_[hv]spw -> <---------- lcd_[hv]bp ---------> <-------------------------------- lcd_[hv]t ------------------------------> The DSI driver misinterpreted the hbp term from the BSP code to refer only to the backporch, when in fact it was backporch + sync. Thus the driver incorrectly used the horizontal front porch plus sync in its calculation of the DRQ set bit value, when it should not have included the sync timing. Including additional sync timings leads to flip_done timed out as: WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 31 at drivers/gpu/drm/drm_atomic_helper.c:1429 drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_vblanks.part.1+0x298/0x2a0 [CRTC:46:crtc-0] vblank wait timed out Modules linked in: CPU: 0 PID: 31 Comm: kworker/0:1 Not tainted 5.1.0-next-20190514-00026-g01f0c75b902d-dirty #13 Hardware name: Allwinner sun8i Family Workqueue: events deferred_probe_work_func [<c010ed54>] (unwind_backtrace) from [<c010b76c>] (show_stack+0x10/0x14) [<c010b76c>] (show_stack) from [<c0688c70>] (dump_stack+0x84/0x98) [<c0688c70>] (dump_stack) from [<c011d9e4>] (__warn+0xfc/0x114) [<c011d9e4>] (__warn) from [<c011da40>] (warn_slowpath_fmt+0x44/0x68) [<c011da40>] (warn_slowpath_fmt) from [<c040cd50>] (drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_vblanks.part.1+0x298/0x2a0) [<c040cd50>] (drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_vblanks.part.1) from [<c040e694>] (drm_atomic_helper_commit_tail_rpm+0x5c/0x6c) [<c040e694>] (drm_atomic_helper_commit_tail_rpm) from [<c040e4dc>] (commit_tail+0x40/0x6c) [<c040e4dc>] (commit_tail) from [<c040e5cc>] (drm_atomic_helper_commit+0xbc/0x128) [<c040e5cc>] (drm_atomic_helper_commit) from [<c0411b64>] (restore_fbdev_mode_atomic+0x1cc/0x1dc) [<c0411b64>] (restore_fbdev_mode_atomic) from [<c04156f8>] (drm_fb_helper_restore_fbdev_mode_unlocked+0x54/0xa0) [<c04156f8>] (drm_fb_helper_restore_fbdev_mode_unlocked) from [<c0415774>] (drm_fb_helper_set_par+0x30/0x54) [<c0415774>] (drm_fb_helper_set_par) from [<c03ad450>] (fbcon_init+0x560/0x5ac) [<c03ad450>] (fbcon_init) from [<c03eb8a0>] (visual_init+0xbc/0x104) [<c03eb8a0>] (visual_init) from [<c03ed1b8>] (do_bind_con_driver+0x1b0/0x390) [<c03ed1b8>] (do_bind_con_driver) from [<c03ed780>] (do_take_over_console+0x13c/0x1c4) [<c03ed780>] (do_take_over_console) from [<c03ad800>] (do_fbcon_takeover+0x74/0xcc) [<c03ad800>] (do_fbcon_takeover) from [<c013c9c8>] (notifier_call_chain+0x44/0x84) [<c013c9c8>] (notifier_call_chain) from [<c013cd20>] (__blocking_notifier_call_chain+0x48/0x60) [<c013cd20>] (__blocking_notifier_call_chain) from [<c013cd50>] (blocking_notifier_call_chain+0x18/0x20) [<c013cd50>] (blocking_notifier_call_chain) from [<c03a6e44>] (register_framebuffer+0x1e0/0x2f8) [<c03a6e44>] (register_framebuffer) from [<c04153c0>] (__drm_fb_helper_initial_config_and_unlock+0x2fc/0x50c) [<c04153c0>] (__drm_fb_helper_initial_config_and_unlock) from [<c04158c8>] (drm_fbdev_client_hotplug+0xe8/0x1b8) [<c04158c8>] (drm_fbdev_client_hotplug) from [<c0415a20>] (drm_fbdev_generic_setup+0x88/0x118) [<c0415a20>] (drm_fbdev_generic_setup) from [<c043f060>] (sun4i_drv_bind+0x128/0x160) [<c043f060>] (sun4i_drv_bind) from [<c044b598>] (try_to_bring_up_master+0x164/0x1a0) [<c044b598>] (try_to_bring_up_master) from [<c044b668>] (__component_add+0x94/0x140) [<c044b668>] (__component_add) from [<c0445e1c>] (sun6i_dsi_probe+0x144/0x234) [<c0445e1c>] (sun6i_dsi_probe) from [<c0452ef4>] (platform_drv_probe+0x48/0x9c) [<c0452ef4>] (platform_drv_probe) from [<c04512cc>] (really_probe+0x1dc/0x2c8) [<c04512cc>] (really_probe) from [<c0451518>] (driver_probe_device+0x60/0x160) [<c0451518>] (driver_probe_device) from [<c044f7a4>] (bus_for_each_drv+0x74/0xb8) [<c044f7a4>] (bus_for_each_drv) from [<c045107c>] (__device_attach+0xd0/0x13c) [<c045107c>] (__device_attach) from [<c0450474>] (bus_probe_device+0x84/0x8c) [<c0450474>] (bus_probe_device) from [<c0450900>] (deferred_probe_work_func+0x64/0x90) [<c0450900>] (deferred_probe_work_func) from [<c0135970>] (process_one_work+0x204/0x420) [<c0135970>] (process_one_work) from [<c013690c>] (worker_thread+0x274/0x5a0) [<c013690c>] (worker_thread) from [<c013b3d8>] (kthread+0x11c/0x14c) [<c013b3d8>] (kthread) from [<c01010e8>] (ret_from_fork+0x14/0x2c) Exception stack(0xde539fb0 to 0xde539ff8) 9fa0: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 9fc0: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 9fe0: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000013 00000000 ---[ end trace b57eb1e5c64c6b8b ]--- random: fast init done [drm:drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_dependencies] *ERROR* [CRTC:46:crtc-0] flip_done timed out [drm:drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_dependencies] *ERROR* [CONNECTOR:48:DSI-1] flip_done timed out [drm:drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_dependencies] *ERROR* [PLANE:30:plane-0] flip_done timed out With the terms(as described in above diagram) fixed, the panel displays correctly without any timeouts. 2019-11-13drm/sun4i: tcon: Set min division of TCON0_DCLK to 1.Yunhao Tian1-1/+1
The datasheet of V3s (and various other chips) wrote that TCON0_DCLK_DIV can be >= 1 if only dclk is used, and must >= 6 if dclk1 or dclk2 is used. As currently neither dclk1 nor dclk2 is used (no writes to these bits), let's set minimal division to 1. If this minimal division is 6, some common dot clock frequencies can't be produced (e.g. 30MHz will not be possible and will fallback to 25MHz), which is obviously not an expected behaviour. Pull drm updates from Dave Airlie: "This is the main pull request for 5.4-rc1 merge window. I don't think there is anything outstanding so next week should just be fixes, but we'll see if I missed anything. I landed some fixes earlier in the week but got delayed writing summary and sending it out, due to a mix of sick kid and jetlag! There are some fixes pending, but I'd rather get the main merge out of the way instead of delaying it longer. It's also pretty large in commit count and new amd header file size. The largest thing is four new amdgpu products (navi12/14, arcturus and renoir APU support). Otherwise it's pretty much lots of work across the board, i915 has started landing tigerlake support, lots of icelake fixes and lots of locking reworking for future gpu support, lots of header file rework (drmP.h is nearly gone), some old legacy hacks (DRM_WAIT_ON) have been put into the places they are needed. uapi: - content protection type property for HDCP core: - rework include dependencies - lots of drmP.h removals - link rate calculation robustness fix - make fb helper map only when required - add connector->DDC adapter link - DRM_WAIT_ON removed - drop DRM_AUTH usage from drivers dma-buf: - reservation object fence helper dma-fence: - shrink dma_fence struct - merge signal functions - store timestamps in dma_fence - selftests ttm: - embed drm_get_object struct into ttm_buffer_object - release_notify callback bridges: - sii902x - audio graph card support - tc358767 - aux data handling rework - ti-snd64dsi86 - debugfs support, DSI mode flags support panels: - Support for GiantPlus GPM940B0, Sharp LQ070Y3DG3B, Ortustech COM37H3M, Novatek NT39016, Sharp LS020B1DD01D, Raydium RM67191, Boe Himax8279d, Sharp LD-D5116Z01B - TI nspire, NEC NL8048HL11, LG Philips LB035Q02, Sharp LS037V7DW01, Sony ACX565AKM, Toppoly TD028TTEC1 Toppoly TD043MTEA1 i915: - Initial tigerlake platform support - Locking simplification work, general all over refactoring. - Selftests - HDCP debug info improvements - DSI properties - Icelake display PLL fixes, colorspace fixes, bandwidth fixes, DSI suspend/resume - GuC fixes - Perf fixes - ElkhartLake enablement - DP MST fixes - GVT - command parser enhancements amdgpu: - add wipe memory on release flag for buffer creation - Navi12/14 support (may be marked experimental) - Arcturus support - Renoir APU support - mclk DPM for Navi - DC display fixes - Raven scatter/gather support - RAS support for GFX - Navi12 + Arcturus power features - GPU reset for Picasso - smu11 i2c controller support amdkfd: - navi12/14 support - Arcturus support radeon: - kexec fix nouveau: - improved display color management - detect lack of GPU power cables vmwgfx: - evicition priority support - remove unused security feature msm: - msm8998 display support - better async commit support for cursor updates etnaviv: - per-process address space support - performance counter fixes - softpin support mcde: - DCS transfers fix exynos: - drmP.h cleanup lima: - reduce logging kirin: - misc clenaups komeda: - dual-link support - DT memory regions hisilicon: - misc fixes imx: - IPUv3 image converter fixes - 32-bit RGB V4L2 pixel format support ingenic: - more support for panel related cases mgag200: - cursor support fix panfrost: - export GPU features register to userspace - gpu heap allocations - per-fd address space support pl111: - CLD pads wiring support removed from DT rockchip: - rework to use DRM PSR helpers - fix bug in VOP_WIN_GET macro - DSI DT binding rework sun4i: - improve support for color encoding and range - DDC enabled GPIO tinydrm: - rework SPI support - improve MIPI-DBI support - moved to drm/tiny vkms: - rework CRC tracking dw-hdmi: - get_eld and i2s improvements gm12u320: - misc fixes meson: - global code cleanup - vpu feature detect omap: - alpha/pixel blend mode properties rcar-du: - misc fixes" * tag 'drm-next-2019-09-18' of git://anongit.freedesktop.org/drm/drm: (2112 commits) drm/nouveau/bar/gm20b: Avoid BAR1 teardown during init drm/nouveau: Fix ordering between TTM and GEM release drm/nouveau/prime: Extend DMA reservation object lock drm/nouveau: Fix fallout from reservation object rework drm/nouveau/kms/nv50-: Don't create MSTMs for eDP connectors drm/i915: Use NOEVICT for first pass on attemping to pin a GGTT mmap drm/i915: to make vgpu ppgtt notificaiton as atomic operation drm/i915: Flush the existing fence before GGTT read/write drm/i915: Hold irq-off for the entire fake lock period drm/i915/gvt: update RING_START reg of vGPU when the context is submitted to i915 drm/i915/gvt: update vgpu workload head pointer correctly drm/mcde: Fix DSI transfers drm/msm: Use the correct dma_sync calls harder drm/msm: remove unlikely() from WARN_ON() conditions drm/msm/dsi: Fix return value check for clk_get_parent drm/msm: add atomic traces drm/msm/dpu: async commit support drm/msm: async commit support drm/msm: split power control from prepare/complete_commit drm/msm: add kms->flush_commit() ...

2019-07-20drm/sun4i: sun8i-csc: Add support for color encoding and rangeJernej Skrabec3-28/+126
Conversion from YUV to RGB depends on range (limited or full) and encoding (BT.601 or BT.709). Current code doesn't consider this and always uses BT.601 encoding and limited range. 2019-05-16drm/sun4i: sun6i_mipi_dsi: Support DSI GENERIC_SHORT_WRITE_2 transferJagan Teki1-0/+1
Some DSI panels do use GENERIC_SHORT_WRITE_2 transfer protocol to host DSI driver and which is similar to GENERIC_SHORT_WRITE. Add support for the same transfer, so-that so-that the panels which are requesting similar transfer type will process properly. 2019-05-16drm/sun4i: sun6i_mipi_dsi: Fix hsync_porch overflowJagan Teki1-2/+3
Loop N1 instruction delay for burst mode devices are computed based on horizontal sync and porch timing values. The current driver is using u16 type for computing this hsync_porch value, which would failed to fit within the u16 type for large sync and porch timings devices. This would result in hsync_porch overflow and eventually computed wrong instruction delay value. Example, timings, where it produces the overflow { .hdisplay = 1080, .hsync_start = 1080 + 408, .hsync_end = 1080 + 408 + 4, .htotal = 1080 + 408 + 4 + 38, } It reproduces the desired delay value 65487 but the correct working value should be 7. So, Fix it by computing hsync_porch value separately with u32 type. 2019-05-16drm/sun4i: Fix sun8i HDMI PHY configuration for > 148.5 MHzJernej Skrabec1-1/+2

2019-05-16drm/sun4i: Fix sun8i HDMI PHY clock initializationJernej Skrabec1-12/+14
Current code initializes HDMI PHY clock driver before reset line is deasserted and clocks enabled. Because of that, initial readout of clock divider is incorrect (0 instead of 2). This causes any clock rate with divider 1 (register value 0) to be set incorrectly. Fix this by moving initialization of HDMI PHY clock driver after reset line is deasserted and clocks enabled.
