2012-10-03drm/nouveau: restructure source tree, split core from drm implementationBen Skeggs1-3360/+0
Future work will be headed in the way of separating the policy supplied by the nouveau drm module from the mechanisms provided by the driver core. There will be a couple of major classes (subdev, engine) of driver modules that have clearly defined tasks, and the further directory structure change is to reflect this. No code changes here whatsoever, aside from fixing up a couple of include file pathnames. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2012-05-24drm/nv50/gr: make sure NEXT_TO_CURRENT is executed even if nothing doneBen Skeggs1-1/+1
PFIFO channel kickoff will hang sometimes otherwise. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2012-05-24drm/nv40-50/gr: restructure grctx/prog generationBen Skeggs1-2/+29
The conditional definition of the generation helper functions apparently confuses some IDEs.... Reported-by: Marcin Slusarz <marcin.slusarz@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2011-11-10drm/nv50: fix stability issue on NV86.Maxim Levitsky1-1/+1
Confirmed to fix random hangs while running all Unegine demos on NV86. Signed-off-by: Maxim Levitsky <maximlevitsky@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2011-09-20drm/nv50/gr: enable ctxprog xfer only when we need it to save powerMartin Peres1-0/+5
This patch adds instructions to ctxprog and by doing, impacts context switching performance. My testcase showed a 1% performance cost using glxgears that is a context-switch bound application. Please test and report bugs/performance/power/other. Many thanks to Maxim Levitsky for his dedicated work on lowering power consumption with nouveau. More patches are coming thanks to his work: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37922 Signed-off-by: Martin Peres <martin.peres@ensi-bourges.fr> Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2011-09-20drm/nv50/gr: insert set/clr of a ctxprog flag at start/end of ctxprogBen Skeggs1-0/+6
The set will be replaced with a wait on the same flag by a subsequent commit in order to halt a ctxprog's execution temporarily. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>

2010-03-10drm/nv50: Improve PGRAPH interrupt handling.Marcin Kościelnicki1-4/+4
This makes nouveau recognise and report more kinds of PGRAPH errors, as well as prevent GPU lockups resulting from some of them. Lots of guesswork was involved and some part of this is probably incorrect. Some potential-lockuop situations are handled by just resetting a whole PGRAPH subunit, which doesn't sound like a "proper" solution, but seems to work just fine... for now. 2010-02-25drm/nv50: Implement ctxprog/state generation.Marcin Kościelnicki1-0/+2367
This removes dependence on external firmware for NV50 generation cards. If the generated ctxprogs don't work for you for some reason, please report it. Signed-off-by: Marcin Kościelnicki <koriakin@0x04.net> Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
